Where can I get this kind of goose down comforter or duvet. What is the web site so I can purchase this white goose down comforter or duvet I am looking this same goose down comforter or duvet that is in this video?
This is quite funny to watch as a European. Canadian down is the expensive one here which they up sell the same way as the European down is sold here as premium
Most birds are not live plucked. Most of the feathers are by product of the slaughter houses, or purchased from farmers from the countryside after the birds were cut down for meat. I am from Hungary where "goosing" is an old tradition and where one of the best quality goose down comes from. Many people ( not just farmers) in the countryside keep geese, not only for the meat and liver but also for selling the feathers and down that is very valuable - and the feather and down is usually taken after the birds are dead.
I'm glad you have a proper way of getting the down feathers. There are farms that rip the feather from the live duck with no pain meds. It is barbaric.
@@dillonl.2836 I completely agree and should never be done. It's horrific. There are also some really nice natural alternatives to down. I've recently purchased wool bedding that I absolutely love. But I made sure I purchased from a company (Devon Duvets) who source their wool from certified and cruelty free sources. Sheep has to be sheered so it is a completely natural, sustainable, cruelty free option. Then there's plant based alternatives as well. I think the most important thing is to to make sure the source is cruelty free
@@TheCatsMeoooow You mean the "plant alternative" tencel and bamboo nonsense that have the terrible chemical smell? Even polyester is less disgusting at least it doesn't have basically smell at all lmao
It's crazy that there isn't a single down/feather duvet in my country without the crunchy paper sound. I even asked a local manufacturer to make a custom one with a less loud one and I'll find fabric for it myself and I couldn't find anything that was higher quality, all of them is stiff and crounchy. It's insane.

Hey mate I’m looking at getting a new doona, a couple of questions. Regarding the thread count is it just the noise or does a lower thread count affect the comfort and what about duck down versus goose down what is softer and what would be a better insulator but not too hot for summer as I live in Australia
Is it good if a duvet has 80% Hungarian goose feather and 20% Hungarian goose down ??? I don’t like sleeping hot is this a good choice or the more down the duvet has the better ??
its usually the pollutants in feathers like dust. a good quality comforter down has a more intense cleaning process for the feathers to remove the dust and dander.

It's loosing it's feathers. I find them floating in the air. In my filter on my Air Conditioning. I currently live in the South, and Air Conditioners are needed for good part of the year. Anyway, I'm finding feathers. Both small and of good size EVERYWHERE. And, the most confusing factor of all. It doesn't have ANY holes. I've checked and rechecked. What is the issue here? Is the fabric too fine? Cheaply made? Help!!
+BettenHaus Bedding Thanks for the reply. How would I do that? Where is such a material found? And, would it be cheaper to just buy a Down proof, Down blanket?
Catalina, The reason for that is the fabric of the duvet is not tightly woven enough and the down/feather has a chance to poke then slip out of it. High quality duvets should not only have great filling but the fabric has to be as tightly woven as possible.
I thought that it was supposed to be the opposite - that doing it to live birds was at least supposed to be less common than getting their feathers through other means.
Are you that heartless? I want a down duvet but not at the expense of hurting an animal. Calling animals dumb is very telling of what kind of person you are.
Traci Tea how do u even know they dun pluck from live geese?.. rather not take the chance of being wrong n having blood on my hands just for comfort when there are synthetic which can do the job just fine
Traci Tea I understand where u are coming from I believed that for many many years that they were just useing all the parts of the animal. Until I watched several videos where they are plucking them alive and it was horrendous. People placed secret video cameras in these facilities because the facilities lie to us by saying they were already dead. I thought the same thing for years it's not true and it is an awful lie. That's why I buy synthetic so I don't have to support those industries.

Kristie Lewis why are you so angry? Just because I speak up for innocent animals doesn't mean I don't also "worry about kids" or speak up for them also, because I do. That is why I stopped buying clothes from sweatshop retailers whenever possible and I now sponsor an impoverished family in rural Africa. I also budget for humanitarian charity as well as other charities. I have learned over the years to have compassion for both human and non-human animals. I used to mock animal rights activists now I support them. I believe all innocent lives deserve respect and kindness. There is still a lot more I could be doing but I'm learning as I go. One thing is for sure though, I'm not going to "fuck off" telling the truth or speaking up for those who do not have a voice. So you can get angry if you wish (that's out of my control).
Kristie Lewis I'm not sure what is "pitiful"? When it comes to this issue and many others we all benefit by having compassion. Using our logic, following our hearts, being honest with ourselves and telling the truth for the sake of the oppressed. If that makes some people angry or upset than so be it because this is how positve change happens, at all levels. When we speak up for suffering humans and non-human animals alike, while trying to come up with solutions to reduce or eliminate that suffering we progress as a society. Facing hard truths and creating solutions is how we can all help to make this world a better place for everyone! So until humanity gets it's shit together and stops needlessly causing suffering to innocent portions of humanity, domesticated animals, and wild life, or until we stop destroying the environment we depend on than there is a real sense of urgency for us to speak out, write and respond, and take actions where we can to help those in need. You are right Kristie we should start with humanity, there are millions of children, women, and men in need of our help but while doing that we can also help the innocent and voiceless animals who need our compassion too. Hope that makes sense, have a great week! 😊
