Thanks for doing this type of video -- what a nostalgic trip down memory lane. My first was Nimbus 15 and frankly it's a huge part of what made me a consistent runner. Great to see the line continues with innovation from 25.
My personal favorite are the Gel Nimbus 23's. The tongue was thicker/more passed and better than the 24-26's. Hiked across the Grand Canyon twice in those 23's. Gotta give it to Asic though, I'vw put over 1,200 miles on my 24's until they started giving me blisters. So I have some 26's on the way.
IMHO, the Nimbus 3 was the best running shoe of all time for how good it was compared to everything else on the market. The 3 was the concept of Nimbus perfected. I've had every edition since. Wearing a 15 4E, I never had the benefit of being able to choose something else until Saucony came around with Everun. The 5's toebox was horrible and cramped, so the biomorphic fit was a godsend in the 6.
I loved the 14-16, probably put close to 1000 miles on each of those versions and I ran in the Nimbus almost exclusively for daily miles from 2007-2017 but v19 was the dealbreaker for me. Whatever they did to the fit on that version ruined it for me. I didn’t buy another ASICS until the Novablast came out, which is my current workhorse shoe.
Nimbus 9-13 were prime. So disappointed in the shift from Nimbus 18 onward. Specifically: 1) the overemphasis on reducing weight which has resulted in essentially a sock as the upper with not structure; 2) Copying Hoka with ridiculous stack height; 3) huge drop in quality of materials and durability of the shoes (my 20-23s lasted a quarter as long as older models.). I understand that American capitalism is singularly obsessed with changing a product and making it seem "new" and "better" every year, but come on folks. Occasional innovations are welcome, but as a serious runner, I'd rather Asics have stuck with what was working and so beloved. Forums and reviews across the internet overwhelmingly support this viewpoint.
+1000km with the 12 And a just one run with the 21 because it was such a brick Glad to see how this model improved over the last few years because the nimbus 21 and 22 almost killed the franchise
I’m so very disappointed once again, you’ve changed the design again. After many surgeries this is the only shoe I depend on and now you’ve introduced the sport which I accidentally bought online and can’t return them as I wore them.
Nimbus 25 and 26 are some of the best shoes released in a long time
nimbus 6, that silver red black colourway was pure fire
Bring back the nimbus 15. GOAT.

Thank you! Things like this are interesting to a shoe nerd and it’s terribly difficult to find examples or even pics of these old models online
Loved this type of video. And as always, Bob and Paul bring so much knowledge.

These history videos are so informative. Please make more of them 🙏

I was wishing for something like that, thanks guys 🙏❤️
The older Nimbi ?! looked so much better. :))))
My first Nimbus was the 19, then the 24, and now i will get the 25.
Greg is still looking for the quad to work!
I wanted to know more about the ASICS Nimbus 10

Try 24 and 25... you'd be pleasantly surprised

@@FreeWilly416 Too heavy. Kinvara 12/13 better.
@lazyhusband for me it's fine for an easy day/max cushion shoe. Besides it makes others shoes feel lighter on workout runs or races.
@@FreeWilly416 I would choose Novablast 3 over 25.
Anybody still run in old nimbus? Or the newly returned nimbus 9s?

I want a Gel Nimbus tattoo on my arm....
I have a BRAND NEW pair of Nimbus 17. Taking offers.
I wish I kept my nine 😝😝😝😝
I think you can buy it right now since it was re-released.

so is the Nimbus the "Max GEL" line? if so what Nimbus had the best Max Gel? .. Or what Asics had the best Max Gel overall ???
