Was there any real advantage/ disadvantage to the cross ram intake on a cammed 350, better heads, and headers? The cam is a flat tappet Mutha Thumper. 1.6 rockers.
@richardholdener1727 yes, or an aftermarket. I was wondering if it fell between the tunnel ram and a Victor Jr. or was it a waste? Sort of an underhood tunnel ram with the longer runners.
356hp with a crappy flat tappet grind...a modern grind roller would surpass the 356hp and the Ls by far and would be closer to the 400hp claims but still be criticized by most LS swingers lol
the motor rated at 290 hp made 356 hp with an optimized tuned, better carb and long tube headers. It made what any junkyard 5.3L truck motor makes now with less compression and a much smaller cam-technology has come a long way
@richardholdener1727 That's what I'm saying, yes you optimized the 302 with what it has,but throw a modern camshaft in it and it would make the claims of 400hp,and an LS coming from a junkyard doesn't mean anything you've proven an optimized 23+ci ,roller cam, race inspired valve angle heads, larger plenum higher flowing induction, windage tray oiling system LS 5.3 only made a minimal amount of HP over a 56yr old designed 302ci SBC...it would be interesting to take a L79 with a modern grind camshaft and modern intake and compare it to a stock 5.3 with cam and intake swap
Going to an LS firing order On a Big Block Chevy. KC nax says his runs soother and is easer on bearings and parts after looking at it in tear down.
Some people claim an longer rod and or a piston flip has less piston rock providing better ring seal
Ive always wanted to build one. Time or money has always gotten in the way, along with women and drugs. Living vicariously through Richard now
Do it brotha
No wonder I missed the live it was 3pm The SBC benefited from the double throw down CNC heads
Tunnel ram. And a cooler fuel charge. Makes a difference?
Dang, I missed your Live. I’ll catch you next week, interested in your cam for my truck.
They are nightly
Good puppy! 😊
they are awesome
Wow, over 300k subs! Nice. 😎
Thanks! 😃

THE FACTORY/DEALER OPTION CROSS RAM ON THE DZ?

@richardholdener1727 love your pups. So sorry about the loss of your old pup!ItS's a tough one.
I wonder how the factory supplied duel quad manifold would have made?
With off road ( race ) cam and cross ram twin 650 holleys 440 H P as built by TRACO for Penski back in the day 1969
