TACKLESHARE PROGRAM
TackleShare is a program run by the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) since 1998. With the help from Ontario Power Generation as our title sponsor, we are proud to deliver this important program that encourages fishing as a fun, family activity that can be done anywhere in Ontario.
Wherever you fish, remember to follow signs and “Stay Clear, Stay Safe” as water near dams and hydro stations can turn dangerous in a heartbeat.

I will travel up to 2 hours in 1 day to go fishing.
It takes me about 30 minutes to get to my favorite fishing spot. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
There are great fishing spots all within a 10-15 min drive for us! Very Lucky indeed!
Our favorite fishing spot is our 3 acre stocked pond just off the 401. Not over stocked. Every fishing trip is a gamble as it should be!
Great prize package! We travel about 1.5hours to get to the Great Lakes. Weekend adventures for us!
Thanks for the amazing giveaway. Keep doing your magic and grow that channel. It took me about an hour to reach my fishing spot.
About an hour in the winter to our shack, but in the summer there is a lake about ten minutes away that I like to bring the kids and friends, my chair and relax for an hour or two in the evenings. 🎣
We are lucky we are a 20 min drive to island lake in orangeville that's where we do most of our fishing, that may change this summer comming as we now have a boat so we will be looking for new spots this summer. Hope everyone has a very merry Christmas and a happy new year keep those lines tight
Merry Christmas and thanks for the marathon giveaway! My closest hot spot is 40 Miles away.
We live in the GTA and you showed some great fishing spot
Close by …. But off the dock at the cottage so about 2 hr drive is my favourite spot
Thank you for the contest. Well, on a daily basis when not canoe tripping about 150 meters from my deck to the river. I will either paddle up to the first set of rapids and fish for 45 minutes and return home. Some days I will paddle and fish for up to four hours enjoying a shore lunch and multiple coffees. Days like this I'm able to paddle up stream and fish around five different sets of rapids and various drops. It never gets old and the scenery and solitude is rather nice.
We typically travel around an hour way to our favourite fishing spot. The best place to spend the weekend and not too far away 😊
My time travelled varies greatly. I have great fishing less than 30 minutes away but I also love to go further and explore what my province has to offer.
For creek fishing, I'm fortunate to have something within a 20 min drive. Otherwise usually an hour to get out to our favorite spots in the boat:)
Just a 15 minute walk for me to Grenadier Pond in High Park, Toronto! Even if I don't catch anything the beauty of nature is all around. Toronto is #acitywithinapark 😊
Very nice!
Lucky for me one of my favourite rivers is right in my hometown that I’ve fished since I was young. Only about a 2 minute drive!
Spend the summer fishing at the cottage, which is a 36 hour drive away. But 6 weeks of non stop fishing is worth it. Plus all the stops along the way.
On a good day, 20-30 minutes away from paradise!
I have drove up to 3.5 hours from home. Bark Lake, 2.5 hours, Nipissing 3 hours, Temagami. Lots of trips to the Bay of Quinte. Love ice fishing
I can go fishing anywhere from 2 to 15 miles away. I count that as a blessing.
I am blessed with multiple are to go fishing. The nearest is around 30 walking destine.
Depends how good the spot is, if it's a great fishing place then as early as possible.
We are lucky, we live on the Otonabee River at the mouth of Rice Lake, so somedays we only have to walk to the dock, others we cruise out to the Lake at putter around at our favourite fishing spots, so not very far!
Most time I like few spots within half hour drive.
Usually a short walk to the local pond, but sometimes drive 15-60minutes to larger bodies of water.
We mostly go to a lake about an hour from home, but try go up north (8 hour drive) for a good couple days at least once a winter! Usually try make a full day out of it, anywhere from 6-12 hours!
The giveaway is beyond generous! Keep the sharing going and enter me in for the giveaway. It take me an hour to reach my favorite spot.
I have found a really nice spot for bass and pike it’s about 5-10 mins away from me and love to fish there with friends and family on my way home from school. Tight lines
Seriously though we need to support lucky strike more after these generous giveaways. I like to fish up to 30 mins from home on a regular basis and once in a while travel an hour or two away to explore somethng different.
Oh anywhere from half an hour to a couple of hours depending on the location.

I live really close to my favorite fishing spots!
I can dangle a line anywhere from 10 mins away in the Ottawa or Rideau Rivers, or go a bit further and toss a line in a river or lake nearby.
Usually we travel up to a couple of hours but were out fishing at 5am and start coming back at dusk stopping at potential fishing holes on the side of the road on the way back home lol😅🎣🎣
Ho, Ho, Ho! Merry Christmas! I spent an hour travelling from my home to my favorite location.
Lucky Strike are my fave lures!! 2 hour drive to where we keep our boat. Once there, lines are in the water as soon as we’re off the dock. Thanks for the chance
I live by the Grand River in Brantford so I usually only travel 5 minutes from home for the best fishing!!
I usually like to go about a half an hour of driving, but it's a GORGEOUS drive so I'm hit complaining!

Living on Manitoulin Island, I travel aware from a two minute drive down to the dock, to a 45 minute drive to other end of the island.
We live on Lake Erie but do most of our fishing at cottages up North. The reason is the size of boat required to fish Lake Erie. It requires a bigger boat.
I have many local favourite fishing spots ranging from 5 minutes to 20 minutes from my home.
When I go fishing i drive from Wasaga beach to the Gravenhurst area so usually 1-1.5h radius! But I’ve been known to go up to Point Au Baril and that’s much farther!!

Always fish at least 4 hours. We go out at 5 am and don’t leave the water until at least 9! Usually 11. Perfect to go home, have a late breakfast and nap!
Right now we live very close to the water, so a couple minutes and we are on the water. On average though to nearby waters, probably 30 min to a bunch of other places we go fishing too.
I normally go about 1 country block to my own pond with hybred bluegill, bass, and cat fish for some fun fishing.
Counting the walk to and from the dock, about 90 minutes.

The best lake for me is about 20 minutes a way. It's worth it. All different kinds of species and I almost always catch something.
I cycle like 1 mile away. I reckon if I drive, I would arrive faster but I need the workout.
With a river within one kilometer and several lakes within 10 kilometers I consider myself fortunate. With the use of fish ON-Line I know how to get to the body of water, the species of fish in it, what type of bait to use and all regulations in that zone.
We typically go for a 2 hours drive and a full day of fun with friends
We usually only go 5 minutes down the road. One time this summer we hiked into a park and fished. Not as fun hiking back after a day of fishing though 😀
Usually a 2 to 3 hour drive from where I am to good fishing.
My nearest spot is 2 miles away. If I don't have any plan to fishbowl other locations, I will hop on there for a quick session.
There is minimum 2 hour drive to anything worth going from where we are. Usually an early morning to be able to get on the water or ice early or we go over night!

Most of the time I fish an hour or two away summer and winter. I do go 7 hours north once a year for a guys fishing trip though. Good luck everyone and what a fantastic giveaway.

got a couple of spots in humber river for fishing near by, about 10-15 minutes from us
It's a drag to get to where I want to be on a weekend. A short distance but it took me 2 and a half hours to my fishing spot due to the traffic.
I'll travel about an hour one way to fish. We just bought a cottage on a river, so for now I am fishing close to there. But, I like a diversity of lakes and fish species, so I will drive a ways to get that.
Pickerel and perch lake 5 mins away. And one of the best small mouth fisheries in my area within 30 mins.
I use to take a 15 min walk or a 5 min drive to our spot for bass or rainbow trout I have then moved but miss it
If we are going out in boat, it usually takes anywhere from 15 mins-45 mins to get where we wanna go to fish!
My favorite fishing spots are about 1 1/2 hour drive for me. If my time is limited I have a lake only about a 5 minute drive away.
Right across from the ocean. A minute or 2.
