In this clip, Day 26 gave insight to their reunion and what brought it about while also reflecting on some of their best times together. They also took time out to discuss the current musical climate and what that spelled out for R&B groups. Day 26 went on to name a couple of groups that have popped on the scene, but none of them had much-staying power in today's soundscape. Day 26 is looking to feel a void with their new music which reflects a more seasoned and mature Day 26.

These guys were so talented that they would have been successful with or without P. Diddy. In fact, WITHOUT P. Diddy and Bad Boy , they would still be relevant artists today. American Idol, The Voice, America's Got Talent, and the internet, have all provided a better launching platform then the Making the Band show. Day 26 wanted to truly be an iconic singing group, P. Diddy just wanted to make good television. That is why talented singers and rappers were forced to walk 10 miles to get him a slice of cheesecake, wash cars, and be submitted to cameras invading their privacy. Diddy instructed his staff to not break up any fights but to record it all for tv ratings. When he grew bored with them, he disbanded the groups. Now after years of struggle, the boys reunite only to be terrified to tell the world the negative affect Diddy had on their lives and careers. That is why Q was silent during the interview and the group was giving the side eye to Brian; they are still scared of the repercussions.
And Puffy owns the rights to all of his artists names and publishing. So, that’s another reason why you don’t see a lot of former artist from bad boy really make it after separating themselves from Puffy.

More than ½ of they success came from Puffy's machine. It didn't necessarily come from them being this talent vocal group. They songs are indeed take it or leave it. Vocally, they're just okay. Y'all are talkin' about nobody really made a mark, but y'all didn't either now. The average Joe doesn't know Day 26.
I think it’s just the opposite, actually! Their voices individually and as a collective are PHENOMENAL! The talent is most definitely there! They went up against 100,000’s of other guys and were the 5 that came out on top. Puff wasn’t about to just choose any mediocre cats to be signed to his label.
It sucks they got a bad deal, there was a lot of internal beef and drama, and industry drama that broke this group apart. They may not have the awards and the accolades and recognition other groups have like 112 and JE and Jodeci, but each member could stand up against every member of another group and outsing them man for man riff for riff run for run blow for blow. Jagged Edge and 112 had the “success” but not EVERY single last member in those groups had the talent. You had maybe 1 or 2 leads and the rest were there for oohs and ahhs. In Day 26 each man can lead a song and sing every other members part.
