Since you need more Randy, go for "Diary of a Madman" the title song on this record. The song arrangement allows for Randy to really show how unique his guitar style was.

Excellent work John, you got Randy's genius almost immediately! Both albums with Ozzy are masterpieces, Diary Of A Madman especially, every track is an absolute beauty. His guitar playing on Over The Mountain, SATO and the title track is jaw dropping but my recommendation is Tonight, it has a stunning outro solo that has me turning up the volume as it fades, just to hear every last note. From the Blizzard Of Ozz album, try Revelation (Mother Earth) and Mr. Crowley for starters, still give me goosebumps over forty years later plus there's a beautiful, brief instrumental called Dee, Randy's tribute to his Mum, Dolores, he's still missed, particularly by me, R.I.P Randy, "I guess that we'll meet, we'll meet in the end".

That solo is a killer. It speeds up and sounds like he’s hitting every note

This is a great album. In my opinion from here to the end there are no mistakes and it is flawless

At the time, the mainstream considered him THE "shock rocker" (post Alice Cooper/ Johnny Rotten and Pre Marylin Manson/Slayer). It was a circus when he came to town. His records were the ones that you hid from your parents. Reports of his personal life painted him as a heretic, and an unstable, drug addict and alcoholic. Everyone knew him as the guy that bit the head off a live bat on stage, not the great, powerful and seasoned vocalist who, along with his wife commanded a great army of musicians and producers to create the alluring "bark at the moon" "horror metal" vibe that helped sell millions of records and concert tickets in the 80's.
Aside from this being a killer track that helped set the musical foundation for the heavy metal and hair metal that was to follow, Ozzy was stepping up and being a inspirationalist and motivator in songs like this. His message of self-belief resonates powerfully even today, and continues to empower generations of free thinking metalheads to embrace their individuality and inner strength.
Congratulations 🎉 Your inner metalhead just leveled up.

Yes . I was in high school when it came out saw him in 82 . He wasnt the bumbling dad this was when he was a mad man
Biting the heads of a dove then biting the head off a bat (accidentally ) peeing on the Alamo ( Drunkin accident) shaving his head after Randy died
Going on these long benders of being high as hell . Look at the photos from the early eighties he was a wild man . I had Live Photos
Taped to my high school folders

Not only does the re-recorded version sound awful...but it was an attempt, by Sharon Osbourne, of getting out of paying royalties to the original bass player and drummer (Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake)

I'm curious how she thought that would work, at least as far as Bob Daisley is concerned, considering he penned the lyrics.

Don’t even bother with the 2002 version. it sucks and was a pure money grab by Sharon and an FU to Bob and Lee who wrote the music, lyrics, and performed the original.
