FINALLY SOMEONE THAT EXPLAINED THE CHARGING BUTTON GOOD!!!! Every other barber said “I’m not sure how this works or what it is yet but please let me know in the comments” thank you bro!
I had the original 2020c and there was just a few things I didn't completely love about them. I just got the JRL onyx in a few days ago and this is the new standard for clippers in my opinion. I have never held a clipper that has felt this premium and cut this good. I have tried to get this motor to bog going through even the thickest hair and it hasn't evem flinched. The clipper is dead silent too. This clipper exceeds the hype
I just faded up my 7 yr old son yesterday with my new Onyx clippers. He's very finicky about loud noises especially a loud buzzing one on top of his head...lol These clippers are amazingly quiet and precise straight outta the box! I tried them without zero gapping them to see how well they'd do and all I have to say is WOW! It's incredible what can be accomplished when you have the right tool. Thank you JRL. 👊😎 A big shout out to you also and all the content creaters like yourself for making these reviews. 🙏 I look forward to your next video.Much continued success brother. 👊😎
I heard this onyx version opens up to a half not a one like the previous model. The JRL fade blade was out before the Faper/Fusion and in my opinion was always better. Now they have this black version it’s even more 🔥
@@monstarboo4546 you know what you’re absolutely right.. I forgot about the standard blade it came with .. I believe I switched mines out the on the original.. but the both have a 3.5 mm in length .. still good tho.. I’ll make sure I say it in my next jrl video
Great review I love my onyx. Can you explain around 10:25 about zero gapping tho. if its zero gap it goes to a one? Took me awhile to learn this longer range fade.
There are a few clippers that have a range that a (detachable 1) guard can cut.. that’s the blade having a longer range.. to use.. now a clipper like the magic clips open.. doesn’t open that wide
@@ישראלאבייב-ק9כ A clipper cannot give a clean edged line so for line up you need a trimmer. If money doesn't matter go with JRL otherwise any cheaper clipper can do more than enough for your beard. All in all fading the beard is a lot easier that fading the hair and you can get a good fade for your beard with any cheap clipper.
...having both the old gold & silver clippers, i can testify, theyre STILL whisper quiet ...& having never used the trimmer, id be interested in seeing a review of the new one, & if theyve made any improvements to it? thank u sir
@@terencemillet9813 I don’t like the extended lever or the play between the clicks. When I look back at pictures of haircuts I did with it, they were kind of choppy and it did a very poor job on hair that was slightly damp
@@RyanAlca thanks for getting back. I have the same experience with using the Onyx on damp hair. What clipper is your go-to right now? For me I can trust my magic clips always.

i love my old jrl 2020's, so glad to see em still striving for improvements... thank u sir
Thank you for the feedback

It definitely does

Thank you for the feedback and supporting my channel
This is the most thorough and comprehensive review of the onyx that I have seen. Great job 👍🏼
Thank you

Mine did not open to a one
hold my beer
Interesting.. If you compare it to a detachable blade 1A (3.2mmwhich most people would consider a 1 ) .. This opens to 3.5mm .. but just my thoughts
@@ConcisetheBarber The taper blade of jrl2020c is 1, this is just a fadeblade, it is not and cannot be 1.

JRL has always been so far ahead of the game. From their clippers, trimmers, combs, hair dryers, definitely the best in the business.💪🏻💪🏻💈💈
Yea I would love to try more of their products honestly
Thanks for the review. I’ve just purchased these. Hope it still has that crunch when cutting.
It does

If I have to choose one good machine for home use only for styling the beard, which one do you recommend I buy: jrl onyx or wahl magic clip gold?
Do you only wanna fade the beard or you wanna line your beard up?
I want to both fade and shape the beard
@@ישראלאבייב-ק9כ

Do you rock with the jrl guards too?
Yup 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Do you think the MMI Blade from Babyliss fits the JRL Onyx?
yes i dont see why not
blessings. Brother, thank you very much for your reviews, where can I buy it?
You’re welcome you should be able to get it at jrlusa.com
I have question without adjusting the clipper will iy remove any bold line from a trimmer or not?
Mine came very close to removing the blade line
How's their weight? Say compared to a magic clip or a rebel?
Nice well balanced .. not as light as those two.. I’ll say a little heavier than them
...having both the old gold & silver clippers, i can testify, theyre STILL whisper quiet ...& having never used the trimmer, id be interested in seeing a review of the new one, & if theyve made any improvements to it? thank u sir
Yea I can’t wait to try out their new trimmer
Is the charging dock compatible with the first gen JRL?
great question... but i believe so
@@ConcisetheBarber If it is, I’m buying the Onyx and I’ll be set for a few good years 👍
The JRL or the Lo pro FX one?
both of them ..lol thats a toss up
Jrl on top
Did you experience any rattle with the guards with the zero gap?
Mine did that with the original 2020C. Couldn't zero gap them.
would you say these are better then the gamma boosted?
I haven’t used the boosters but I can say these are top 5
Do these clippers get hot and heat up fast?
Nope
Do you prefer the onyx more or the lo pro fx one more ?
Is there going to be an onyx trimmer too?
yup coming soon
You think it’s better then instinct or would you prefer over instinct ?
Great question probably a video I would do to talk about it
@@ConcisetheBarber can’t wait fam
Oh, I'm gonna differ with you use it for a little while it gets super loud I can't even use it. It's so loud put in a new fowler still loud extreme.
Mine will not cut off
Have you reached out to them?
I might be the only one, I don’t think it’s that great. About to sell it
Oh really how much?
@@ConcisetheBarber not sure like $150ish probably?
the only thing I don't like about mine is that on thicker hair it struggles after number 1
