I love all the characters and the situations they work through, Trixie is fun to watch, Nurse Anderson is sweet and so pretty…but my favorite is Sister Julianne. Her wise leadership cloaked in humility and caring brings such a peace. I am always struck be the way in every situation the way made is service, caring and dignity towards the ones these serve. Love it all!
I love watching CALL THE MIDWIFE every week, it reminds me when we were so little, playing in the street, they were the good old days, bring them back.
It’s outrageous that Judy Parfit hasn’t been showered with awards for this performance. It’s a tricky thing to pull off her other worldliness and archaic syntax.
I love them all but Sister Monica Joan just touches your heart. Even with the on set of dementia she still has the wisdom to know what to do in cases that have baffled the doctor and the sisters and nurrses. Because she's dealt with it the pass.
I am Italian but for many years I have been following the BBC television series, which are of an incredibly high level. Especially those of historical setting. I am amazed by the quality of the historical reconstruction and details, in love with the landscapes and interiors of English houses. Call the midwife is a wonderful series, the most beautiful of all, and continues to amaze and thrill with each passing year. Characters, music, settings, clothes, everything is so beautiful and special. The stories are moving, sad, joyful and funny at the same time. But the thing I love most is the Christmas specials and each year at the beginning of december I order the new series ... I think I've seen each series 3 or 4 times :-)
I am new to Call the Midwife in September of 2023. I am enjoying all the characters, the travel through history and medicine, the depth and humor, the struggles and strong sense of human kindness in a community. I never want it to end. I do miss Chummy. Everyone is excellent!
It’s difficult to highlight a favourite as they are all very talented actors in their own right. I like, in no particular order, Nurse Trixie, Mrs Turner, Dr Turner and Fred and Violet Buckle. Xx 💕💕
I remember Jenny Aguitter as the young nurse in "An American Werewolf in London" and she takes the young American werewolf victim (actor in the Dr. Pepper commercials back then) to her flat since he had nowhere else to go.
I cringed too, Jenny has only been acting since 1968! You'd think you could do some research. My home city of Sheffield seems to have moved into West Yorkshire, err, no thanks!
@@angiehaddington6462 That's the yanks for you.Never mind they can't say the names correctly but when it's the towns and cities that's worse. They need to listen and learn before making dicks of themselves.
It irritates me so much when Americans can’t be bothered to research how things are pronounced in UK. But don’t get me started. Still it doesn’t detract from agreeing it’s a fantastic series
There has never been a cast member I have not liked or enjoyed over the many series. The script writers are brilliant, the cast fantastic and I hope they keep making this wonderful show.It has to be the best viewing as I absolutely detest all that so called reality bilge.I think I have Trixie as my favourite,She is beautiful and has gorgeous eyes,She has come through some torrid times during the show but she somehow bounces back.👍👍👍❤❤❤
I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I’ve never heard of this amazing series before I recently stumbled upon it in late July 2024 on Netflix. I’ve been happily binge-watching it daily! Heidi Thomas, the Creator, is just so brilliant!!! I’m absolutely in love with every single character. I’m a Nurse and I was back in school to further my degree so I could go on to the Midwifery program but I had met & married my husband who had children he was raising alone, and they needed me. I don’t ever want this series to come to an end!!! It brings me so much peace and joy, especially all the Christmastime episodes! I laugh, I cry and have to force myself to go to bed because I just can’t get enough! The entire cast is so beautifully talented! I just started season 11 and began watching this series end of July! This has become my all-time favorite series, ever! My phone rang the other day and I was being silly (at age 55) & couldn’t resist answering it with “Nannatus House, Midwife speaking.” My family did not get the reference which only made me laugh even harder! 🩷 Much love to the Creator and Cast from Niantic, CT, Tanya B.
Im from Russia, fond of this serial.. i think Trixie is the same in the real life. As for Sheila, she is absolutely different, in reality full of life and fun. In the movie her role is constantly connected with the sacrificing and suffering. Always shy and guilty face expression
A lovely character, and she and Tom were such a good fit. Such a shame that she died early, and that they didn't get to develop their relationship further.
I do see Call the Midwife on BBCFirst, with duch subtitles. It would be so nice if you all could have an intervieuw on Dutch television.... England was so importent for us in WW ll. The history about that is written better in your series than in all other movies about that time.... London is most glamour in those time in the movies. In your serie it is how it was real in London.! Thank you for all of that what you ment for us, in june, 44 and the years before....
@@jetodessa5484 I agree, you'd think he'd make the effort to check....Also annoys me that Americans always label people of colour, Leonie is not a 'Jamaican beauty', she is a British one....her parents were Jamaican she is British ...
I feel all of them are part of my family. Monika Joan and Fred I think are my favorites. Julienne is also excellent. Their series and Downton are my favorites. Patric the Doc. is also excellent, and the Moms Of Poplar. My Goodness, and all actors in the show are The Best.
Could you switch this to an English commentary please? All these mispronunciations just turn the video into a joke. And you don't have to add "England" after the name of every city. We know where London and Liverpool are. This is a shabby video, full of non-information, and padded out to appeal to American audiences. Film credits such as The Railway Children and Goodnight Mister Tom were omitted, and instead we just got trivia. Have another go, I'm sure there is a decent video in there somewhere!
Poplar next to Bow? Is that where there were the Bells of Bow? Oranges and Lemons say the Bells of Ste Clemens...I have that rhyme in my books here. Joyce

I like Sister Monica Joan best - funny, wise and uses great choices of words. I like everyone, including Trixie, but I am puzzled by those saying she is their favorite. I know she is pretty but why is she a favorite? Again, I do like her, but she seems a bit vain, not especially wise, and it is not fun to listen to her lines as it is for people like Sister Monica Joan. Oh, and don't forget Mother Miriam, what a hoot!
The British say Bawth for the city and for the thing done with water. Most Americans say "Bath" for both. It is consistent. It is not wrong, nor a mispronounciation, it is the American accent. Americans think a fellow American saying Bawth for the city sounds extremely pretentious, though of course, they love to hear the British pronounce it, since, in general, the love British accents.

I love the Dr and his wife and their relationship. They are so cute together!❤
❤without a doubt the best show on tv just now. They are all stars ❤
I just adore everyone that has ever been on this show. I have rewatched this show so many times! But I am partial to Sister Monica Joan lol.
It’s outrageous that Judy Parfit hasn’t been showered with awards for this performance. It’s a tricky thing to pull off her other worldliness and archaic syntax.
I like her too, but she's not really good to say she's a nun lol
Sister Julianne is my fav ❤️
All of them!!! Best show I’ve watched in a very long time!!!! ♥️
The whole series is best thing on TV its soooooo brilliant Love them all but Trixie is special
I absolutely agree!
They are ALL fantastic, don't make us chose!

I love them all but I have a soft spot for Phyllis and you never mentioned her 🤔😭
Phyllis is also my favorite but love them all too
Phyllis started out hard-edged, but softened as the series progressed. Nice to see her colleagues' effect on her.
@@normaredman2198 agree👍
@@normaredman2198 she was always that way... she regularly supported her colleagues and women, but she's also no nonsense. This was the 1950 and 60s

Call the midwife is the best TV series ever made
Fred Buckle is played by CLIFF Parisi not CHRIS and Laura Main is celebrating her 40th BIRTHDAY not ANNIVERSARY
And Hertfordshire is pronounced "Hartfordsheer" by those of us who live there.
It irritates me so much when Americans can’t be bothered to research how things are pronounced in UK. But don’t get me started. Still it doesn’t detract from agreeing it’s a fantastic series
