Glad to have you back tofu! Right there with you on the scores! I was actually a bit more harsh on Viviz than you, I gave them a 6.2 but we were pretty much identical with the other two 😄👍🏻

I personally think both of you are going too easy on viviz.. 😬 I had them in the 5s but that could be the former cheerleader in me…

Totally understand your scores. I certainly agree that this was Kep1er's best performance so far and that WJSN showed out this round. Truly it was spectacular. VIVIZ was fun, but you're right when it comes to intricacy which could lead to it being a bit boring. I still enjoyed it for what it was. Hopefully, we get the rest of round 3 and the finale reactions within the next couple of weeks.

i feel like they did a lot more in this bop bop perf than music show performances but i do agree that their choreographies have been lacking. however, this bop bop concept is something they did for fans so i understand they went with more gesturing to focus on their vocals since this unit of gfriend is generally more vocal than dance (yes, sinb is the main dancer but eunha is well loved by fans for her vocals, umji for her vocal tone, and sinb for her untapped potential in vocals). with what mnet did in messing up their vocal in the past, i think they wanted to do better in that aspect for this performance (evident in eunha's altered high note).
also, they focused on the concept too which is kinda high school concept and fans have been hoping for a mean girls concept for them lol so true to the name of this round, they really focused more on what the fans wanted. since fans already knew that they have great dance (usually the reason why they attract fans), they went the other route. this is what i think as a fan though.
i hope you'll like their final performance for queendom though because i loved it a lot and it felt like a great way for hem to end queendom.

As a long time Buddy and now as a Na.V too, what you said about GFRIEND and Viviz annoyed me like a lot, but i can understand that you know very little about GFRIEND and where they come from so let me educate you on some points. First, it's true that GFRIEND has been known for their hard and cut-knives choreographies, but true facts is that since they was outside the mainstream K-pop they received lot of hate from Music shows, lot of fandoms and medias, in fact GFRIEND debut was far to be a success and coming from a small company did not help to their popularity.
GFRIEND did become kind of popular with their very hard works and practices and won many awards and break many record, but we don't know how Source music treated them, when GFRIEND join HYPE we fans all thought that it was a blessing and that the girls will get better promotions and better treatments since HYPE was a lot richer company. Now we know that we have been deceived and the girls too. Now we know that GFRIEND was forced to disband and the girls learned the bad news two months before the news was released in the medias. Can you imagine how the girls had to deal with that? How they felt sorry for us Buddies?
Happily, all girls find new companies who respect and support them and stated a new life, we are even lucky that half members of GFRIEND decided to form a new group as Viviz. Yes, i admit all members of Viviz have lot lot LOT of talents in singing and dancing maybe even more than some new groups, but do they have to replicate GFRIEND choreography hardness?
You said so often that you are a (former) professional dancer, so i will ask you: each time you had a job as a dancer and/or choreographer did you go for the hardest dances and choreographies just because you was able to do them?
Finally about Queendom 2, i hope that you know that Mnet did not like GFRIEND or even Viviz and even tried many time to sabotage their performances with bad editing to make their performance bad and even tried to make Viviz the villains of the show. There is even rumors that the final score was rigged to make WJSN win and that Loona should have won Queendom 2 and Viviz would have been in second place. Despite that, the girls has stayed strong and shows a different concepts to prove how versatile they are.
Yeah, Viviz had decided to go more mainstream pop for their debut song with easier choreographies with Bop! Bop! So what? they even win 2 times on music shows. That don't means that they will stay with that concept and knowing how talented my girls are, i know that they will always surprise us, but they won't copy GFRIEND because Viviz IS NOT GFRIEND. I won't spoil Viviz final new song for Queendom 2 since maybe you will react to it but i will just say that the performance is closer to musical or a concert than a Music shows performance and far to be simple cute pop.
Not sure if you will read all that, so sorry for the long comments. I'm a long time fan of K-pop since 2003 so since first and generations and yes i'm a very passionate multi-fandom fan so on that, Peace out. :)

As a dancer and former cheerleader (concept/moves that viviz used in this performance was big on cheer albeit the basic aspects of it) I’m right there with tofu. This performance was super underwhelming. I actually thought he was too kind giving this a 6.9… I had it in the 5s.
The disappointment doesn’t necessarily come from the fact that viviz isn’t like gfriend. No one’s asking for that, it’s the simple fact that viviz has done nothing but basic gesturing throughout most of their Queendom performances. As dancers we find that boring and it’s a big reason why a decent amount of trained dancers have so little respect when it comes to idols and their dance skills.
It really sucks that they as individuals have suffered so much. I truly feel bad for them and they deserve better, but what does that have to do with them putting on weak dance performance after weak dance performance? Sure, they don’t have to be like gfriend or maybe they don’t want to be, but to abandon showcasing your dance skills? That to me is taking the easy route. They know they can get away with just gesturing and posing about, but as performers we look at that as a cop out. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Where’s your pride as a dancer? Just my two cents. And pls don’t take this as me being hostile or anything I truly say these things in a peaceful tone. Just wanted to clarify since text is hard to understand

@@rachels6103 basically hit the nail on the head… I don’t mean to pile on and I really do respect Viviz as idols, but to see them choose to sideline their intricate choreo for gesturing is a real let down.
This piece was especially boring because even the dancers they had were keeping things pretty basic.
And I know your question was aimed at tofu “each time you had a job as a dancer and/or choreographer did you go for hardest dances jusr because you were able to?”
YES!!! Degree of difficulty is huge in competitive dance. You don’t win with basic ass choreo. As a choreographer it really depends on your client. In Viviz case you can’t say Viviz (the client) is unable to perform difficulty or complex choreo, so you as a choreographer would push for something complex. And choreo doesn’t need to be hard hitting with sharp edges to be “powerful”
Last rounds “tell me now” performance wasn’t weighted with edges but it was still so powerful. There’s a lot Viviz could’ve done without coming across as heavy or masculine, but so far they’ve chosen to go with the basic gesturing which for a dancer is boring…

tofu praised gfriend multiples times on his channel so he is aware of what they able to do.he didn't say this performance is bad its was enjoyable but for queendom standard its was underwhelming.
