Great review. I bought the book two minutes after I knew of its existence! Charlie Frye is insanely excellent at anything he does, including writing. Learn from this legendary entertainer.

Totally concur! I have been a huge fan of Charlie's approach ,skills etc. I too have the circus juggler side with the magic. His skill level is inspiring! This book will be inspirational at different times of your career as you grow in skill and awareness. I heard his Magic Live lecture was the hit of the convention.
I will cherish this book and I managed to get an autographed copy via an attendee at his launch. It sits next to Tommy Wonders books. ( always enjoy reviews n posts.

I will look into this more. I started my career in the circus and in music hall and variety shows. I like to keep the tradition alive mixing tricks and mentalism with real world skills like juggling and other side-show style things so this is exiting.

Great review. Been wanting to check this out. Does Charlie teach any physical comedy skills like pratfalls?

Hey great question. There is some stuff in the Eccentricks chapter, but it doesn't go too deep on the details. I've just messaged Charlie to ask. He's super busy but I'll let you know if he gets back to me.

He just got back to me and I agree with what he says. Study video of silent clowns and those moments. (and has he says, some noisy ones) and if you can, learn from someone. This was so useful for me when I was at circus school in the 90s. It's an amazing experience. Give it a google and you may find something local to you.

@@RealMagicReview You’re amazing. Thank you for helping me and messaging Charlie Frye. I’m a huge fan of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton and their physical comedy. Those two geniuses were some of reasons I was so attracted to Frye's persona. Thank you again.
