Used this method and successfully inserted a zipper in a knitted cardigan for the first time in 20 years, so thank you for clear instructions and video!
So great to find a video that explains zipper installation using hand sewing instead of machine. Finally ready to just do it, with confidence to boot! Thanks so much!
This is incredibly detailed and helpful. I've never put a zipper in my knitwear, only buttons, but I'm about to put one in a hooded carrying bag for my newborn grandson. You've give me the confidence to do it. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise.
Thank you so much for the very clear instructions, I have made my husband loads of jumpers, but now I want to knit him a zip jacket, now I can. ❤ X linda
Thank you. I just finished my first sipper in the Drops Richard sweater pattern. It was successful thanks to your outstanding video tutorial. Thank you for sharing your technique with us. 😊
It'll be my 1st time doing a zipper and found your video VERY easy to follow and good to know about folding the top at end of zipper. THANKYOU FOR THIS! 🪡🧵🧶💜💙🧵🪡
Great tutorial - so well explained and perfect, clear videography. About to sew in my first zipper (in a sweater that took me half a year to knit!) and I feel a lot more confident now. Thank you so much.
@@AnaRivera-nd8ww Perfect! Here's a link to the sweater I knit. You can read about the amazing zipper store I found in New York City! www.ravelry.com/projects/jerrys88/aiden
Very helpful video, thanks! I just would have liked to have seen how you finished off the top of the zipper. At the point you signed off, it appeared to be pretty clunky with the folded over edge of the zipper.
Thank you. This was a great explanation. I was wondering what you did to the edge of the sweater to give the substance needed to apply the zipper. I’m having my first adventures in steeking and am stuck on the edge after cutting. Thanks so much for your help.
Just used this to see my first zipper and the process was great! My stitches are nowhere near as neat as yours haha, but it’s secure and straight so I’m happy
Very very clear and helpful. I just finished Jane Richmond’s West Coast cardigan and would love to make the jacket/cardigan you demonstrate on in this video. Can you please point me towards the pattern for it? Thank you.
When I cut excess zipper tape at the top (I also have extra stops and remove teeth from the tape) I use a lighter on the cut edge. On the zippers I use, it will melt the fibers and prevent fraying. :)
Hi, thank you for all the information about inserting a zipper. I have one question about the edge the zipper is applied to. Is that an Icord edge or are the stitches picked up, a row of garter stitch knit and then bound off? Could you tell me the name of the sweater pattern? Thank you.
I messed up with the zipper before - had a "horn" in the middle of my chest like a third bust, very attractive .... ended up with button bands. Next jacket, next try, tomorrow. Thank you from Germany

I always wash my zipper first to wash out any sizing and to prevent any shrinkage depending on the zip fabric don't want a wavy zip in my sweater
Thank you for this tip! I washed my zipper.

This was an excellent tutorial -- just enough detail, and your friendly language encouraged me to try. I was successful!

Thank you for this helpful video! I am going to make the very sweater pattern you did. Very excited. Yours is gorgeous!
I saw a a trick to make the zipper go on evenly while I was searching zippers on knits - baste the front together first, then pin.
Fantastic tutorial!
Fantastic tutorial! Thank you
I love the garter edging; my sweater pattern does not call for that. Do you have an instructional video on how to do that?
I don't have pinking scissors so I put a bit of "Hard as Nails" on the end (with grosgrain ribbon, too) on the end to keep it from unraveling.
Very useful tips thanks 🙏🏼

How is the sweater finished in preparation for the zipper. Did you pick up stitches and knit? Thankyou
I like the colour and pattern can you show how you made this
Thank you so much. It has really helped me. Thanks again.⚘
Wonderful! I am just about to sew a zipper in to the sweater for the first time.

Very helpful video! Thanksss🙏🏾
Thank you, I found this video to be so helpful!
This is great. I know just what to do now.
Thank you! This was very helpful.
Also do I need a special pattern that calls for a zipper or can I use any knitted cardigan pattern?
Great job…Thank you!!
💐Thank you❣️

Thanks for this demo ~~ 👍🏽
Can you share where I can find the pattern of the sweater in this video? I really want to make it
Thank you very helpful
Great tutorial. Ironically I am sewing a zipper on exactly the same sweater (pattern and colors)!
Thank you for the video. Helped me a lot.
Great help!!!
Two words- zipper tape. It prevents having to pin, and will wash away. Sew as normal- then it will wash away.
Thankyou for mentioning the zipper tape. Very helpful too! 🧵🪡🧶💜
Great explanation. thank you
Hi, Is there a reason you don't use a sewing machine?
awesome video, thank you so much. I am sewing my zipper as we speak :-)
Is it possible to sew the zipper with a sewing machine without puckering?
Thank you.
Thanks for this information mam
Where can I found the pattern of this sweater??
I would like to find the pattern as well?
