I turn 69 in a few weeks, been playing this album since I was a teenager, now I am actually Old And In The Way, hahaha, actually I am a busy mother, grandmother and aunt. I love Billy playing this gem, it’s a favorite and he rocks the guitar solo, Jerry would be proud of him!!❤❤❤
He is a musical genius. Would’ve been nice if doc had been 20 years younger. I can’t even imagine what they could’ve done together. Someone always has to take the baton, and doc passed that to billy on his way upstairs to be with Merle and Jesus.
Billy’s not a master yet…..you might want to check out the other bluegrass guitarists that are older than him before you make a bold statement like that again
An absolute amazing performance!!!! My hats off to all of these unbelievable musicians!!! Incredible job to all of you!!! Thank you soooo much for sharing this! I enjoyed it greatly!!
It is kind of ridiculous how much they feed off of each other - the violinist takes a melodic line that Billy was running with as the starting point for his solo, and Billy in turn took his line straight from the preceding ones. And the violinist then jumps into triple stops like they were nothing. Truly amazing musicianship
Absolutely superb. Inspiring, brilliant and fun. The band is like some crazy well-oiled machine, firing ideas around flawlessly, Billy ( looking young and healthy again ) steps up and cuts it, shows flashes of pure genius. Very well recorded, too, can't have been easy, everything's distinct but the whole atmosphere of the gig comes through as well. Best thing I've seen and heard for a long while :-D
Man, everyone on this stage is a monster. I think the guitar solo that took place before Billy's was amazing. Billy is reading from a different playbook, I think.
Tabaslak !!! Billy fait rouler les notes comme c'est pas possible ! Ses amis tirent aussi comme des maîtres mais Billy est le Maître des maîtres et ce qui me concerne !! Le party est pogné !!! 🤓🎻🪕🎵🎶
I mean this kid must be the greatest flat-picker alive... and he's so young. Just think of how much music this guy will make. Once in a lifetime, baby!
“Home” is one of greatest albums of all time.. No shame in just playing what butters the bread.. I think he tries a little too hard to be grass.. he’s a genius song writer, play the songs
You must not be paying attention to what Billy is doing. The kid is playing different kinds of music with different people. Buy he's also taking full advantage of taking every chance he can get to play with some of the all time legends of Bluegrass/folk.
This is the "Poster Child" video that shows how wrong the folks crying in discontent about the music of today is awful and nothing is being made worth listening to. I don't disagree with the "Pop" Top 40 genre. This is not going to be ruined by the Top 40 Pop Machine. But the fact of these guys never succumbing to the LA glitz and Glamour formula that ruins the artists integrity and fattens the Bank Accounts of a large number of people that have nothing to do with the art.

Happy early Birthday!
I am not sure that the act of making music could be more joyful than this.
Billy's playing with the best in the world here, and yet he shines like the master he is.
No doubt, Billy can hang with the best.

That smile on Billy's face!
Baked 💕🎶
What a collection of fine musicians wow wow wow to all.
I love this Peter Rowan tune. I had that PR album, and I spun it many, many times.
Fabulous! Live music has returned!!! We are all absolutely blessed.
Jason sure stepped up and sawed that fiddle down,Wonderful job all you guys,,Sure loved it
I loved this album and I’m happy to see it reimagined
Yes please. 💕
The fiddler knew he had the hardest person to follow... But man, he nailed that solo!!
Jason doesn't play around ha
He’s played with all of the greats…So yeah I’m pretty sure he wasn’t afraid to follow billy
@@dmcrisp i thought he was talking about Vassar Clements lol
fantastic .. Billy energizes already great musicians
Well that's my new song of the summer! Can't wait to see Billy again and hopefully see the mccourys soon!!!
Love the way each soloist built on what went before. Great work by everyone!

Pure joy on that face
Thank you
That's some mighty fine picking. Nice job by all.
Cody Kilby from KY Thunder is stellar as well !

bluegrass baby
Jason Carter on fiddle is the cat's meow
Effortless
( violinist = fiddle player ) :)
@@dianehunsberger2271 I agree! I don’t recognize the long-haired guitar player-by any chance do you know who he is?
Oh wow, this is GREAT!
Thanky
This kid gonna do a blue grass Dead album soon .. I hope !!
That be great, Rusty!!
Beautiful.

Vassar would approve !

You guyz gottet gawn awnn!
That Heaven McCoury, Ronnie's son! Getting some chops. Remember him when he was a little kid running around by the stage at Delfest a decade ago.
There is no one like him
Keeler! It's a beautiful thing!
billy is a beast hi
🙏
Holy smokes Billy....
🔥🔥🐐🐐🔥🔥
I was falling asleep till Billy woke the band up with his pizzazz and blue grass jazz
With the way y’all worship this kid you’d think there was never a tony rice or David Grier or bryan sutton
I mean this kid must be the greatest flat-picker alive... and he's so young. Just think of how much music this guy will make. Once in a lifetime, baby!
He isn't once in a lifetime, there are others as good.
@@da324 Sure there are, but are they bending the genre? Maybe he ain't the first, idk... he widens the bluegrass audience.
@@1htalp9 he sure has breathed life into Bluegrass
@@da324 there are others just as good but he made it relevant to the younger crowd. That and now he's blending psychedelic/bluegrass/mathematic tempos
Greatest? Hah! Search for video where Tommy plays second chair to Zlatko, how do some people get touched with talent yet others not?
Goddamn I wish Jerry was still here to jam with you boys
Who's the guitar player next to Cody?
jason carter clearly playing homage to vassar. "vassar ....always more vassar"
He was the best.
Where's Del?
Where's cousin Rod?! :)
888 angel number...
Jason also
I’m so confused, Billy totally looks like he’s about 12 years old in this video!! ✌️☮️
Jason Carter shows that 4 strings can beat up 5, 6 or 8.
I think the fiddle player was inspired by Billy's guitar ride.
1st song w/BMFS
Great video..... except for the guy hollering right beside the guy recording this vid. How rude
Too bad the audio can't cancel out the "Woo-ers" in the audience. :)
He must be a reincarnation of a cross between Jerry Garcia and Doc Watson. Oh, yeah, and that Jason Carter sure can fiddle!
And Tony Rice!
@@marklyon8406 And Clarence White ??
These solos. Man. Whoa. SMH.
He looks like Sweet Tooth
Is that the indomitableJason Carter.
I got all my tats in invisible ink one drunken evening.Think I got ripped off.
Billy got a haircut. Didn't affect his playing.
Heck, he got em all cut.
Vassar he ain't but not bad.
Jesus Christ!!!

Glad everyone's wooooing to let us know it's good cause I couldn't hear it over your loud asss wooooo every 4 seconds
