“That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10
Thank you very much for you Videos David. I am new on this channel. But since long time I questioned this verse. Only as a supplement, Luke 14.26 is not meant as harsh as it sounds. But yes: Jesus first. But its not necessary to hate. Some people are misunderstanding this verse. I had a look into the strongs numbers: The Greek word used in Luke 14:26 is "μισέω" (miseó), and it is listed under Strong's number G3404. The definitions include: To hate, detest To love less, to esteem less in comparison to something else In the context of Luke 14:26, Jesus uses "miseó" to mean "to love less" or "to esteem less" in comparison to the love and commitment one should have for Him. It is not about literally hating family members but about prioritizing one's devotion to Jesus above all other relationships Strong 9:11
The humility demonstrated on the MLK question is wonderful and common for Guzik. This guy is solid on what's not negotiable and gentle on what is. I'm personally quick to criticism. My praise of Guzik's attitude to differences is well earned. I pray this doesn't go to his head. Too many pastors set their systematic theology ahead of Scripture.
Needed to hear this Q & A today! Thank you so much! Ya'll are doing a wonderful and very helpful ministry. I cannot tell you how much The Enduring Word and Pastor Guzik and Pastor Lance have helped my walk with Christ through these videos and The Enduring Word website/app. Many blessings, and thank you to all of you and to all my brothers and sisters in Christ who have provided such great questions and comments in our community of believers 😊❤🙏🙏🙌🙌
While listening at the 19:00 minute mark it suddenly came to me the understanding of the scripture "A house divided unto itself cannot stand." Referring to Lucifer cannot cast himself out, this being the case then, God cannot cast himself out either those that are saved/backsliden.
For the 2nd witness I think Moses or Enoch are possible if they're literal people. Moses was on the mount; while Enoch is one of two to never die. Jesus lives! ♥️ and is Yahweh God 🙏🏻 Christ ✝️ and King 👑
Pastor Lance replies - THAT is a GREAT question! Let me suggest you see if you can get a copy of a book Pastor David and I helped Ray Beeson, the author, write many years ago called "The Real Battle." You can find at the link below on Amazon. When someone is saved, they are SEALED by the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit dwells within the Born Again believer. If there is no evidence of the Holy Spirit in their life, there is cause for concern.
I don't think baptism is "required to be saved" as far as the moment of conversion, BUT if a person refuses to be baptized, I fear that person has not repented. And repentance is required to be saved.
Sadly, most churches today are pretty pathetic on the topic of baptism. Most churches do not follow the biblical pattern of baptism immediately upon confession of faith. Throughout Acts, _ALL_ of the _thousands_ who professed faith were baptized _immediately._
A person is saved by faith alone. It is by grace alone. Not by works lest anyone should boast. Once saved, always saved. You CANNOT loose your salvation. Unfortunately David Guzik is not 100% clear on that. There's a lot of emphasis on discipleship in his explanation of salvation accompanied with statements that unless one becomes a "real disciple" he cannot have an eternal life. And what is it if not implying actually earning salvation through works of discipleship? Anyway, sadly there are confusing and contradicting statements regarding such fundamental question as salvation by faith and grace alone.
Faith without works is dead. Of course our works do not earn salvation. Our faith does not earn salvation. But our faith will produce works, such as baptism.
Pastor I've LOVED your teaching on Genesis!! However when you say,"will be lived out in a person's life," is Lordship salvation. "If He isn't Lord of all then He's not Lord at all." And I humbly disagree. 😖

Jesus ate fish, and he fed fish to the 5000 as well as the 3000. He also declared all foods to be clean.

Question: What are all, or at least some of the ways a Christian can fight Spiritual warfare? Thank you all!

Hen that’s works
joelook, are works bad? Obviously one must repent to be saved. Jesus said so.
