For anybody wondering, the parts they're nitriding here are the main body for "unit pumps" for diesel engines. One pump per cylinder, which is responsible for metering the correct amount of fuel and developing the pressure. A high-pressure line runs from the pump outlet to the spray nozzle in the cylinder head.
Do these furnace Malcomize Nitride SS or are they made just for Nitride? If they are made for malcomize will the addition of activation pills clog the exhaust or create issues with the kN sensor?
Hello and thank you for tuning in and sending your question. In short, Yes; a nitriding system can be used for both stainless steels and for nitriding in general. The major difference between Nitrex technology and Malcomizing (the tradename was sold and changed in the past) is that Malcomizing is only an activation method, not a complete technology. The activator - chlorine - comes from decomposing PVC pellets. It does not come with specialized equipment or support backed by extensive research.
A Nitrex system uses activators, but in addition, it comprises a full technological package that includes Kn control to prevent oversaturation of chromium-rich stainless steels, and appropriate filtering equipment to protect the gas analyzer (Kn sensor) and exhaust piping. Since the equipment includes an ammonia dissociator for very diluted atmospheres, it can be used for a wide range of steels, including deep nitriding of alloy steels, tool steels, high-speed steels, and nitralloys.
Is Nitrocarburising Process applicable for cast iron or only for steel? Where can I get technical papers about this application?? Thank you in advance.
Hello José Divino. Thank you for contacting us. In short, YES, nitrocarburizing can be used for cast iron parts. We recommend you fill out this literature request form, www.nitrex.com/en/technical-papers-furnace-and-technologies/, providing as many details about your application(s) and part specifications, and someone from our sales tech team will get back with more specific info.
Hello Girish Prabhu. Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, an EN8 piston can be nitrided. For more details, please contact us via our website at www.nitrex.com/en/contact/.
A fascinating and really useful process... assaulted by horrible "music". No, you don't want to be at an extreme of off in the clouds or jamming so good the content gets lost, but there is a need for just a bit of instrumental filler in the background - it's an odd art form producing these things: interesting yet not overwhelming hits the mark.

Can it be down for ground piston of EN8 grade
Length up to 3 mts.
Hello Girish Prabhu. Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, an EN8 piston can be nitrided. For more details, please contact us via our website at www.nitrex.com/en/contact/.
Can it handle ADI iron? Will ADI austempering survive nitriding temperature? Can the two processes be combined?
It will survive but probably ends up with some other microstructure (depending on nitriding temperature)... :)
He'll , what is anti carburizing
What a great movie!
Thank you RGB for your kind words.

Dobra robota Panowie.
Night riding, Ok KITT hit Turbo Boost! 🤣
