Lol naming an exception doesn't disprove something. There is not some written rule that one must be at it for a decade to get a black belt. However, I wouldn't say 10 years minimum but 10 years as an average time for the average person who's been at it regularly.

He had it earned , was just never presented with it.
Well he did have a brown belt for quite sometime, and according to Rener Gracie probably should of received his black belt years ago.... He tested and got his black belt. Those involved with awarding him his black belt don't give em out if it isn't earned and the person isn't qualified. As much as some people dislike Schaub by all accounts he is very good at jiu jitsu.
