another one??? Geez....this is now the third eaglet out of their nest this season ....pretty amazing that the peacocks were there to greet it. Will this eaglet be returned to the nest? thank you Paul for posting these.
@@paulk2022 hope you are right Paul. I did read in a comment though that due to the condition of the nest, they may not be returning R5 to it. (or am I confusing this with the other nest whose eaglet fell out?)
I haven't seen anything yet. There are posts that say he is OK, but no official response. I suspect they may keep him overnight for observation anyway.
Oh no,my poorly RH5 ,i hope instandly that you are not injured when you are get slips out of your Nest??!! Maybe the BuildingMaterial looks like dangerous for the Talon from our beloved Eaglet's??God bless you ,my lil "Braveheart.and take well my Deer'lin!
Good thing he wasn't a newborn! He/she will be just fine everyone! That eaglet is old enough to have slowed down it's fall. They need to put that older eaglet back in the nest! He/She is fine! NOT A NEWBORN! Has wings with feathers. He/She will be fine! But, it must be returned to nest...NOW!
pretty clear this Nest as put up by wildlife people is not Eaglet friendly. They can't sit on wire hoop nest edge(like the Adults know to do) without it having wood saplings interwoven into the edge of nest. Eagle nests in the wild would never see Eaglets sitting on outer edge of nest facing in towards the center. They may branch to an upper limb but just don't sit on the nest edge like that--facing in to the center. Glad that this Eaglet likely not injured in the fall and can be returned to nest.
That netting for the nest was the worst idea , especially for a large bird with talons like that. I dont know what they were thinking with this nest. Whole thing is falling apart. This is really sad to see
Too much human micromanaging at this nest. Banding, blood tests to satisfy human curiosity, and now this "rescue" of a bird that almost surely didn't need rescuing. Eagles have enough challenges in the wild without people treating them like pets.
5/30 - R5 was returned to the nest this morning.
Oh hello dear Paul, heartwarmly Thanks for your wonderful Nest News from our beloved R5,Im so Happily that our Deer'lin is not injured!
OH COOL! Ignore my previous reply to you Paul. That is good news.
Oh my! What an Eagle season everywhere! 😱. Thanks so much for update!
I like Dad's reaction, like "did I really just see that?"😅 Looks to make sure it's not still in the nest, then over the side.
that was Rose
Hopefully, R5 is not injured and can return to the nest.
I hope he is ok!

They haven't said anything about a return yet. They may be more likely to return since R5 fledged shortly after the rescue.
Hoping it gets returned!

@@ildiko1vt That was for the Dulles Greenway nest.
Holy cow! Eaglet overboard! Scary!
Any update yet? Hoping he was not injured 😢

@@paulk2022 Thank you Paul. At Dulles Greenway the back part of the nest collapsed taking R5 with it
Correction. DG4
@@jagriggle1662 I posted a video of that. Chat Mods say DG4 will not be returned to that nest. It is too unstable and the other eaglets might fledge.
I hope R5 is ok. The frame on the nest is broken so it doesn’t support the mesh.

I have seen them do it on other eagles nest. Many times.
I clicked on this and thought it was live. I thought I was seeing R5 going over for a 3rd time. 🫣
Help me understand. Why are humans building nests? Why are we not allowing the eagles to build their own nest naturally?
Read the info in the description under the live feed. They had to do it after the nest fell the season before
Wow, good thing he didn't get his leg caught in that netting - I think that could be a major problem.

Very time the eagles fall out it’s because it’s talons gets caught in the NETTING! Time to fix it.
@@RW-pc5ih For sure they have to think of another material before one does major damage to a leg.
@@RW-pc5ihtime for man trying yo do TOO MUCH for wild life , it's not like eagles. Are becoming extinct. Man is always a busy body
R5 :( hope he’s ok.
? When will he be released and placed back on the nest. Hope he won’t be captive like Rita !!
No word yet on if/when he will be returned.
The main reason is the metal frame I guess I guess the eagle thought it was a tree branch again here we go humans fooling with nature
