and to think in the previous 3 months of this december 2000 recording the victims celebrated their very last Halloween, thanksgiving, christmas and New years. and they all were alive in one piece with their family and friends. never did they think it would be their last last time trick or treating with their kids or dressing up on halloween, last thanksgiving with family and friends, last christmas buying and receiving presents, having the time of they life, and finally it was they last new years they would ever live to see. the big scary Y2K monster was just a big dud a hoax a nothing burger and I know for a fact they never thought they'd be apart of something so historically awful vile and tragic. i wonder how many as the incident happened flashback to days like this, their last thoughts was it of their last christmases, halloweens, thanksgivings, new years, etc etc. not that one victims life means more than another but i can only imagine those who werent even suppose to be at those towers or something random that caused their plane trip to be booked on 9/11. You know alot of the victim's kids spouses siblings and relatives hold on to those 2000 fall- winter holiday memories very close to their heart. it breaks me thinking about those kids missing their parents or older siblings the following year. I know i couldnt take it.
Just think as this was being recorded downtown of this very same city near past canal and chambers streets and at the world trade center there are people in those buildings just so unaware, working making a living not ever thinking this is their very last time making it to another year. And for those that are wondering Yes i was near during that day in fact the smoke reached to our part of town. ill never forget the look on my classmates face as we were evacuating in fact I remember her older brother, as their was a large age gap between them but i remember them at the park playing softball and soccer and id watch from a distance. we all were kids btw but he was in his 20s. Now being in my 30s it crushes me to see how young he truly was. and my classmate got cheated out of a life with her older brother. i myself was fortunate as my dad was a bus driver for the MTA but was working uptown at the time and not downtown. Im sorry to get all personal but as you get older and reflect on things it just breaks you on how good life was before 9/11 etc etc. and not to be insensitive as i understand other people have suffered great losses even before 9/11 but im just talking from my perspective. If i had powers all of us would be reunited on earth Living no diseases no wars no fighting just love.
