I have a good tip here concerning hotkeys. You can make the hotkeys use CTRL or ALT + numpad key. That way you can still use the numpad, or have three times the hotkeys in the same spot

thanks it worked and for ppl that have issues with it try to click the audio mixer setting then your audio settings and change "monitor off " to "monitor only'" it should do it

When I add the media source, OBS recognizes it's playing (the little bar moves in sync) but I hear nothing.

i figured something like this out end of last year but never thought about nesting it ...in other words i had each sound in each scene and had to set the hot key in eACH individual scene...it was a nightmare...who woulda thought a simple thing like nesting it would solve my issues...THANKS! I have been watching your videos lately and I'm impressed with the clarity of your explanations. Your demeanor with your viewers is exceptionally good.
I have a very (I think) complicated question when it comes to music (not sounds and microphony - MUSIC!) and OBS when it's channeled into teams or zoom. (Let me just say that I have managed to solve the issue I'm just not satisfied with the quality of the outcome). Here it is:
I have created scenes for presenting to teams (or zoom but let's stay with teams pretty please). I'm channeling everything (microphone and music) via NDI to my teams with NDI WEBCAM and the NDI plugin for obs and "Line (NewTek NDI Audio)" as a microphone in my teams' setup. IT WORKS. BUT I have 2 issues:
1. Microphone sounds great. Music is distorted. (Acceptable but distorted). I have the setting IN TEAMS->Noise Suppression to Low or OFF otherwise it wouldn't work
2. I can't listen to my music or my voice as every time I increase the speaker volume on my computer a bit, the music stops being channeled to NDI. I tried Monitor On in the advanced sound settings and I did use my default speakers in the settings for the monitoring speakers.
My solution is to keep the speakers off and connect to teams with my iPad as an attendee and listen to the outcome of what I'm sending, through my iPad.
(I have searched youtube in and out to find someone who's done this before. Nadda. Also, it took me a whole day to discover that if you have the noise suppression filter set to "High" ->in TEAMS music just won't play!)
Any ideas? Or better, could you try this yourself and see whether it works. And if and when it does enlighten our knowledge.
Is there a way to make the clips make themselves invisible after playing? Automatically?

Lioranboard soundboard is an awesome alternative if you have a tablet or phone, can even have pictures for sounds.

use the source toggler script it is much better than pushing twice to hide the sound effects, im using it now by the way with separate numeric keyboard. also if your using separate numpad it is best to use the HID Macros.

How does one program the Elgato stream deck to trigger those individually once a NS has been created?
I use this and it works great for shows, recordings, etc. It even goes through Streamyard, using OBS and Virtual Camera. The only place I cannot get it to work seems to be Facebook Rooms.

Are you using CABLE virtual patch cable to send sound from obs to [services]?
@@mysteriousdeath14400 Yes, I have tried that and it works everywhere EXCEPT in the Facebook Rooms. It's not critical, just a curiosity.
@@KarlWitsman super weird, but then I don't expect fb rooms to be anything more than barely functional.

Father Forrestahl here Michael. I just setup deckboad on my tablet to use as a streamdeck. This video was just what i needed to add sound effects. Now all i need to figure out is how to keep deckboard from taking focus and knocking me out of fallout 4 when i stream. Got any videos for that?
A lot of games have setting called fake full screen and allow you to set it so the audio is always on.

Or just use Streamlabs Chatbot, and use its built in commands section, and your chatters can activate it too
I use stream deck as a soundboard has found that it is much easier to do

@@greanleen I figured it out. I did need to make sure my audio output settings on my hot keys were the same as my computer sound settings. Both needed to go through my headphones to hear the soundboard.

@@mysteriousdeath14400 it's really good and makes life easier for Livestreaming.. By default no sound is sent to any track, it's up to the person to toggle the 6 available tracks.

You forgot to set monitoring, this make so only your viewers hear it, not you.
Set monitoring to "control and output" and you should be good to go

I think it is more fun to creat your own
as someone who got into streaming recently and looking out for youtube videos about obs and its features. it would be nice when you would introduce in a quick way at the start of the video what a soundboard actually is/what its used for so that people like me who are new into these topics know what you actually talk about.
