I started my depop 3 years ago and it replaced my full time job for 2 years. I think the key is doing research on what is selling fast/trending and understanding which key words and hashtags to gain exposure. Not everything vintage sells fast. Comes down to supply and demand.
I love depop because I always find the cutest pieces but sellers overcharge. Plus, the shipping prices keep increasing. As a seller, I’ve sold a pretty decent amount of items BUT I’ve been selling for about 4 years, making sales is soo difficult. I take great photos and put very detailed descriptions and never make it to the depop explore page. It’s rough unless your a thrift flipper who sells a million things. Thank you for sharing!

@@vlonvxdepop was giving me payouts but all of a sudden started asking for ssn. i said hell no and now they’ve been holding my money for the past six months. they said i need to provide proper info but i wouldn’t have been allowed to sell in the first place had i not given them the proper info at the start. they’ve been nasty and unhelpful and now they’re ghosting me
They get the close from the Goodwill Outlet better known as the (Goodwill Bins) I purchase my cloths there 64 items for $72.00 at my Goodwill outlet the cost is 1.89 a pound
That’s been my experience too. If I jump on the app and refresh some listings, follow some accounts etc, I will make a sale, but rarely otherwise. I put a lot of effort into my store, taking professional looking photos and having a decent amount of stock, which helps a lot. But I remember 20y ago when I started thrift flipping on eBay as a 19y old I used to make sales so easily, it was too easy back then!! And I got good money for stuff too. There were less bargain basement high street shops then, no shein or boohoo, even primark didn’t exist. So the resale market was where it was at if you wanted inexpensive.
Yeah the clothing market or reselling market is just hard as a whole. Especially if you don’t use gimmicks and are genuinely just trying to sell good clothing lol. I would say don’t give up if you’re passionate about it but it is gonna come with a lot of work (like most things). Stay positive keep going ❤️❤️ wishing you nothing but the best!!

stopped selling on there bec people were claiming item not received weeks after item showed as delivered. depop wouldn't accept the post office's screen shot of delivered as proof.
Ship with Depop so they keep up with your tracking for u so if someone says they didn’t get it Depop will be on your side because item would say shipped. It happens to me but I ship with Depop so no problem
MOST Depop Sellers are awful and completely unprofessional. My experience has been bad communication (most don't answer queries) don't send items out on time, want good reviews but are too lazy to review buyers and have a tit for tat mentality - they may have been a bad seller and you were a good buyer having patience with their lazy communication and late dispatches and you give them 3 stars and they don't bother giving you a review at all. Unlike Ebay, Amazon, etc., the Sellers seem to be young, unprofessional, come with an attitude at the slightest criticism instead of an apology for their errors. You can immediately feel the negative energy. Having said that there ARE some great sellers out there that are young, professional and on point with customer service. One seller sent me some lovely hand-made beautiful bookmarks she sold which was so incredibly sweet!❤ :)
@@jessenia.rosalesss i’m the same age and situation as you! but no it’s only until you reached that limit or you can do it beforehand just to avoid any issues, that’s my advice i can give to you! also since the IRS changed the sales tax it’s now going to be i think $5,000 so if you sold more than $5,000 worth of items then that’s when you pay the taxes but it’s for 2024 though !

I think it’s possible yes there’s lots of shops that do Depop full time - I don’t think it’s easy at all. It’s going to take a ton of clothing uploaded weekly and so much time and storage space gotta think about that too. I think it’s possible but are you up for the task? It might take 3 months more or less to get your shop up to those standards.
I left because at the time I wasn’t ready to fully commit! Howeverrrrrr I just graduated from college and I can now put more time into Depop! I hope this clears up the confusion and you start posting 🫶🏽🫶🏽

Also did you ladies have to put your SS# on Depop. I like to use my laptop but they said I have to use my phone APP to download my bank info...so annoying.

That really really strange! I would try doing it on a different device so if you’ve been trying on your phone try doing it on your laptop. If that doesn’t work log out and log back in and see if you can change it. If that doesn’t work you’ll have to contact Depop Support. Hope this Helps ❤️
Meh. Depends. Poshmark is catered to more older people rather than teenagers and young adults as well as you make more on Depop. I have used both and see more profit from depop. Its also cheaper for shipping smaller items
@@Kayla-eh5fb I have both as well and I sell mostly men’s vintage. Poshmark has been the best for me since 2021. I guess it just depends on your following and how many active listings you have. I also have guy friends on Poshmark who make $5/600 a day at times. We have a lot active though
Same feelings @ty4ty clothes and handmade earrings. First years were great esp in spring then it just kept getting worse engagement wise despite new posts, revamps, edits and deals. Just waiting it out again. 😅 I did notice viewers saying they were not getting message notifications or offers. Also, when I went onto discounts and scrolled it showed the original post date to me on the side rather than the new date I had refreshed the post on like it says on my actual page. So i'm going to try posting completely new again not copy posts or refresh them! 🩷🌷
i hate to be that person but i went onto your depop and you have reviews saying they never received the item?? once you have one or two reviews referring to that people are less inclined to buy from you..

Definitely hard work.. I have a full time job and afterwards I spend 6-7 hours a day thrifting 7 days a week. But it’s worth it. 🎉

When do they ask for your social security number Or personal id ? Is it after you make $600 in sales or your first sale
every selling platform asks for this which is so dumb it’s because of the tax law they they just put in i despise it so much honestly
