Those outcrops are sometimes useful as "scratching rocks" for the bison. Look for wisps of fur.

.......land o' lakes,wi.....here! for class,,,,,,,..a must see stop while in this area,,,.wow,,have seen this island from other angles,,,......understood.........incredible place to visit.....we live in the U.P.mich,,,oldest rock,Porcupine mnts,,South shore of lk.superior,.....this outcrop reminds me of that outcrop,,,rotten,crumbling hills....with,of course,,copper green colors...,,slate formations.......,,,,,,,,,tnx,pat & family
