Cazenovia vs. Skaneateles. January 23, 2024. Caz player accidentally pulls the fire alarm after scoring a layup. Many thanks to the Cazenovia Fire Department for their professional response.
Ok, so this video is now responsible for 75% of our channel's views. For those who were wondering, the fire department did not deploy, and Number 23 did not get in trouble. There were actually some first responders in the crowd, and the whole thing was resolved over the phone. The game resumed after a 3-minute delay and Skaneateles, sadly, held on for the win. If anyone wants to see the original livestream, it's available here: th-cam.com/users/liveNEbmrpig7ZM?feature=share As the description implies, we're convinced the contact was incidental. The officials and administrators treated it as such on the floor, and purposeful disruption wouldn't fit his pattern of behavior. He's a pretty modest, hard-working guy. A flagrant-2 foul plus ejection, five-day school suspension, three-game bball suspension, $50 fine, and letter of apology to the fire brigade would teach him respect (and balance)
My friend did this during P.E. in 9th grade when we were playing indoor soccer🤣 Tripped and fell and on his way down, struck the fire alarm handle with his long outstretched arm
it looks like he intentionally tried to grab the wall to stop his stumble but I don't think he knew the fire alarm was there or meant to trip it on purpose. The reach out was definitely intentional though, just didn't know the alarm was in that same spot.
@@JT-wu2if- It was a *_celebratory_* act, not an attempt to get a rescheduled game. It's like doing back flips and taunt dances on the football field when you are down 35 points with 4 minutes to go in the 4th. You're drawing a lot attention to yourself (and your team) when the scoreboard does not flatter you. A good grasp of the situation will help cure your "huh?" and not draw more attention to *_yourself_* even as we type.
@@TazTalksYouListen Its a strange prank to play when you are winning because the game could be rescheduled and you lose your win, but they were losing. It isn't that hard to comprehend
The fact that a little kindergartener pulled the alarm at my school yesterday though (kittle kid had special needs though teacher was not watching em they were touching the wall and pulled it also my high school was doing a play so thats why kindergarteners were there)
At the end of the day, any fire alarm activation points manual call point/ pull station should always have a cover over it if it’s an alarm or a normal cover. Anywhere that’s high traffic or where it could be hit accidentally should always have a cover over it to prevent it from activating falsely. In this case it was a genuine accident. You could see he stumbled and used the wall to save himself still not the point. This wouldn’t have happened if the cover was there all that would’ve happened is the alarm cover would’ve went off that would’ve been the only issue you can clearly say there’s no room for an alarm cover here primarily because it’s too bedded into the wall, be a bit different if it was A Call point as the plastic cover could easily be clipped on either side.
Great analysis and yeah a STI cover would not have had enough room to fit this high traffic area. Since this is a Simplex system a (2099-9800) metal cage could be deployed to fit the lower profile 2099 or 4251-20 pullstation.
It was a bizarre reflex action that caused the fire alarm to be pulled, unlike when the New York congressman pulled the fire alarm during a House vote. This was totally by accident, unlike the fire alarm pulled in Congress, which was done on purpose.
@@bwfextreme How is an incident in which the same thing happened (the pulling of a fire alarm, to possibly interfere with something) irrelevant to another situation in which the same thing may or may not have happened???
Bro this bro that. He did not do it on purpose. It was an accident. Thats why there are matts to crash into. That pull station should have a cover on it
Why isn’t there a cover on the pull stations located in heavy traffic areas of this school. If that was installed he would have just smacked the cover off and not pulled the handle and a bunch of running around on the back end to prevent a thousand some odd $ charge to bring out first responders for nothing. On the plus side I’d rather have a false alarm than the real deal any day of the week.
Why it costs thousands for first responders to get out 10 miles tops? You can take a van there for free, aside from the original purchase of the vehicle and the gas cost, it’s cuz those typa business’ charge 100x a reasonable cost to do a crappy job.
I was the one who pulled the alarm and was just trying to push off the wall 😭 everyone thinks I did it on purpose but I was just trying to get back on defense.
@@TannerLawsonbasketball Dw bro I support you in this accident. Hey, accidents happen y'know and you didn't mean to pull the station, as you stated you were pushing off the wall to get back into defense.
