Great video. I just bought the U8000 as a simple means of attaching to a camera slider for one side of support. I was Googling to see if I could find out how to locate the serial number for my U8000 for warranty purposes. No such luck. But, the copy of my sales receipt should be enough I would think.
Enjoyed your video! I found one just like it. Thinking of selling it but I notice the crank to move the camera up to eye level is missing. i can do it manually so it still works. Wondered if you might know how much it might be worth without the crank? On ebay they are running around $44. I figure I would have to go a little less because of the crank. Thanks!
Pretty much worthless without the crank. You might get a few bucks for it, but would it really be worth the trouble to pack and ship? Not for me. Keep it.
Thanks, I was about to go look for an inexpensive tripod & not knowing anything about tripods, This just made my decision easy, what's not to like for 45 dollars??? Liked & subscribed
It has a quick-release mounting plate. First, I screw the mounting plate into the bottom of the camera, then there is a spring-loaded cam latch to lock the mounting plate to the tripod head. I bought an extra one, so I could leave one with my vieo camera and then a general purpose one for my still cameras.
Your wording is correct, but no, it doesn't have a level. However, if you like everything else about this 'pod, go ahead and get it, and buy a stick-on bubble level for a couple dollars. Don't pay a lot more money in the tripod for this cheap accessory. ;)

I don't know what '23 inch slider' means.
