@@jrshaul True, sometimes you do a work and don't actually got to know how people really like your work for quite a long time. It reminds me of the VA for The Lich in Adventure Time. He said in an interview that he didn't remembered this caracter by name, actually he did not remembered him at all.

Gary honestly has the most terrific and humble personality, along with the accolade of having voiced one of the most iconic video game characters. Genuinely a fan of his.

I like the "feel like your character" explanation. I would do something similar when drawing doodles in highschool (using myself for reference to anatomy and exaggerated faces) , and I think I also remember an animator for Spongebob saying that they make faces to help draw the expressions for characters like Plankton.
Sometimes I wish that we could get an interview with the voice actor for the Engineer. Would be a dream come true. Hope he's doing good now, wherever he is.
When I was taking an improv class in college, this was one of the biggest things that my teacher drilled into us. If you always act and talk the same, your scenes will get dry.
Considering one of demoman's voicelines was "You think you're better than me? Drunk Gibberish*" and he kinda referenced it now shows that he still nails it.
I like that the different VAs for TF2 have different ways of approaching their characters. Like, Gary's approach to Heavy and Demoman is way different than how Nathan does Scout.
I love how you couldn't tell Gary is 71 if you heard him talking without seeing him. That's one of the things about people who make money off of their voice, that absolutely fascinate me. Their voices age so well and sound great at any time
The one thing i love is even though it was recorded when ever when dude does heavy voice it sounds almost exactly like the voice in game probably only diffrence is laugh

I love that the TF2 voice actors are more present online nowadays than before.
I think they're pleasantly surprised we're all such big fans. A lot of the kids playing this game weren't born when they recorded the lines.
