Thanks for this series, it has opened my imagination to so many things that can be achieved using shortcuts and inspired me to use a feature that I barely knew existed.
hi, im confuse on creating the shortcuts, i always fail on "create notes" it just skip that part and askaing for content, i've tried every single steps but still having problem with that
Nice video! Another option for logging expenses is to use Numbers instead of notes for better data management and analysis, since you can keep the values separate from the expense description (or you could feed that data to both if you want the redundancy between the two). Use the Numbers Add Row to Top or Bottom of Sheet action. You need to create the sheet first in numbers. Relabel the table name and the sheet name, and put those in the action. You can have as many variables as you have columns in the row, so it could be as simple as Expense in one column and the amount in another column. You can also automate the date and have that in its own column. This video does a good job explaining. th-cam.com/video/EJedH7pZLg0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=PjZYQIrjVoMfy-BY
Thanks for this feedback. It’s limitless what you can do with shortcuts. You can also creat your own application with this. Like storing on cloud using an api and then you can access that data anywhere. Even number app is sync in cloud so we can do that and get data anywhere too. Thanks for this suggestion and reference. Will check it out for sure.
@@futureautomation2504 for sure! I’ve just gotten started with shortcuts and found the Numbers action to be very helpful. Right now I’m using it at night as a type of journal. I have questions to answer about my day and give quick reflections, which is all logged to Numbers. There are many journaling apps that do this but I like having custom questions and keeping all my data in one place that I control. After a while, a quick pivot table will be able to tell me a lot about my habits (most of my questions are to rate 1-5 so it will be easily quantifiable). For the qualitative questions, I think I will run them through ChatGPT at the end of month and create a summary. I’ll probably modify it to log all the qualitative entries into a single note to cut out the mechanical step of pulling those responses out of Numbers. As you said, lots of possibilities. And I haven’t even begun to get into APIs! Thanks again for the informative video.
Great use of it. Take a look at scriptable app as well. I think combining both shortcuts and scriptable will take things to a next level. I will be uploading some videos on scriptable soon. So stay tuned. Let me know if you have any questions too.

Thank you for the feedback
I just completed the shortcut setup, Thanks. Appreciate once again. How can I incorporate selecting different expense for business or personal ?
You can set conditions in the shortcut and based on that you can select different notes for different expenses. I hope that answers your question?
6:04 excellent video. I will try and see if it can paste the expense data into the Numbers spreadsheet app.
Sure do share, the shortcut success ✌🏻
@@futureautomation2504 Yes, it worked. You can use actions open spreadsheet or create new spreadsheet. Then add record to form action

Integrating with something like Notion will be awesome for better data management.
Exactly. That’s a real power. Planing for a video soon.
Waiting for it bro@@futureautomation2504
