Würzburg Residence

Würzburg ResidenceNowadays, the Würzburg Residence is primarily a museum with more than 40 restored rooms that can be visited all year round. It also houses parts of the Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg, the Martin von Wagner Museum, the Würzburg State Gallery, parts of the Würzburg State Archives and the administration of the residence. The Mozart Festival has been held almost every year in early summer since 1921, and the residence is also the site of rotating special exhibitions, such as the 2009 Bavarian State Exhibition "Reconstruction" and "The Economic Miracle". The residence is looked after by the Administration of the Bavarian Palace. The registered association "Friends of the Würzburg Residence" was founded in 1990 as part of civic engagement. He intends to restore the chandelier in the stairwell, restore the decorative grille in the main courtyard and clear Residenzplatz of cars.
