Thanks for the video. Any updates on the water leak?

Leak turned out to be outside, right at the foundation coming into the house. A fairly easy repair after digging hole 4 feet deep!

I would immediately have turned it off at the meter. I saw the cut off after the meter it has a brass ring that lines up with another for a pad lock in the off position. Then get a portable air compressor and a valve air pressure hose to put on where a garden hose on the house. Once hooked up just turn the water back on and let air go into where the garden hose would be only set the regulator on both the compressor and valve it hooks to to less than 15 lbs above the pressure reading before you open the valve for air to go thru. You will then find the leak as it will look like a spring coming out of the ground. Keep it flowing while you dig so you get right to it. I've tried expensive sensors and noise receivers to listen but it's not like the ease of this or expense. The plumber would go through ten times more trouble.

Great idea - that sounds like a much easier way to find where the leak is. Thanks!

I have seen that compressed air can run a meter. High compressed air can wreck the old pipes, the O-rings and the meter, too. Please comment for TH-camrs not aware of this problem. Thank you.

That's true and why you use low pressure but remember the pressure from the water is over 100 lbs and the break will prevent a build up any where close but its still recommended to only set the pressure governors to 20-15 lbs above the pressure you already have. It would be impossible to hurt it at that pressure unless it's already over 20 to 40 years old and tree rooted.
