Very interesting video! I'm going to research more about what you're saying about hollow grinding and the shape of the plate and what shape it actually grinds into the blade as opposed to flat sharpening even if the example I'm looking at is an extreme exaggeration. I think I know what kind of shape hollow grinding produces in these blades but I'm just not sure, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Hello Mr. Jayson, your illustration is excellent and works well with basically all blades I sharpen apart from wahl balding blades which are non adjustable blades but the comb has tiny teeth. Kindly help me get it right on both cutter and comb.
Hello, this is a very detailed illustration of how to sharpen clipper blades on a flat 18'' wheel disc at 1.5 pound of pressure. If I use a 10'' wheel I suppose I should use less pressure unlike the 18'' wheel - Kindly advise.
Has anyone used the flat side of that plate with hook and loop sandpaper somehow to sharpen scissors? I'm looking into buying an arm with convex clamp to try
Earl, we really appreciate your question! We use the same technology as the three main domestic factories and the wheels they create for how we leave the porosity. The purpose of the porosity is to help bond grit to the surface. You see the big holes but if you were to zoom in with magnification, there are millions of small holes throughout the entire surface, acting a lot like a Velcro hold to the adhesive and grit. Secondarily, castings in general have a different layout of the molecular structure of the aluminum, allowing for more durability of the surface.
Love the machine but you guys are behind on grit and binding technology. You want the white euro 220 grit with the shop binding fluid it's a huge difference. Email me if you want the part numbers.

I would like to know how to get in touch with your company from what you said I gather that you resurface the plate and you probably sell the grit either a phone number address or both would be appreciated. Edward Vashon dba Vashon Precision sharpening.
Jason, I appreciate you and The Edge Pro so much. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and skill.
Jason this is Willy from SPARTACUTS Barbershop in Lutz FL... this video was super helpful and very professionally done...I can't thank you enough...
Thanks for your wonderful videos.
What's the name of block you use after sharpening the blade? I mean what kinda material is that?

Another great video...thank you for the information!
Thanks for the vid! What string do you use to test?
Nice video. Thanks for the information!
You are welcome!
The teaching at the end of the video about technique is wonderful! I need to experiment with the danger of grinding off the end teeth!

Another brilliant video, very informative.
In my opinion the compressed air on the background could have been avoided.
@@TheEdgePro too much noise! If this is about money then it’s not worth watching! You could have filmed this after closing?

Lard oil doesn’t seem to be available in the uk. Any alternatives? Would 3 in 1 oil work?
Did you end up finding an alternative to lard oil?
@@cwalden I found a supplier for lard oil in the uk at last. Thanks for reply!

Andis clipper blade care ok to use to clean the plate?
Hi Scott, that is okay to use. It has similar properties has H-42 but will probably not clean quite as easily.
Will Nebraska plates work on a Treyco machine?
Unfortunately our wheel is not compatible with their machine.
Why do your plates have tiny casting holes in surface? Is there any benefit to them?

Hello, you are yet to reply on where to get this shop binding fluid that can replace the adhesive lard
Thanks for the annoying air noise!
The person with the air =rude.
The compressed air was annoying
Completely useless attempted video because of the person working on their semi truck with an air compressor with air tools!
Love the compressor.
Show, don't tell. Too much talk, never saw the machine in use.
Thank you for your feedback.
