    Target Audieñce is basically Family and not Enthusiast's.
    And trust me, They'll be very happy with this DCA😁

      Finally I read a comment which makes sense 🥳. Yeah altroz is targeting family so drive fun won't matter for them, only safety and features will work here.
      Many TH-camrs bark without considering target segment.

      If you drive Baleno amt with a very light foot, you won't feel gear changes.

    Brother we just bought an Altroz DCA petrol and it's giving us 15 kmpl average in Delhi traffic with 4 people loaded in it and the power is also enough if someone is looking for a family car. They have also reduced the vibrations a lot. So, I can say that the tata motors has done well in these years.

    85 percent sales come from NA engine,so it is pretty ovbious to give dct transmission to NA engine

      No it is expensive by 2.5 lacs.
      But trust me for additional bucks you get lot more
      Better driving dynamics
      Peppy Turbo petrol motor 120 bhp
      Led Headlamps
      Transmission shifts are super smooth
      Handling
      Fully digital instrument cluster
      Bose sound system
      10.25 infotainment system
      And so on
      Yes only concern could be Safety which might be relatively lessser than Altroz

    This car isn't for enthusiast and so comparing with i20 Nline isn't fair. :)
    It gives a good ride quality, comfort, safety, better mileage and costs much less than Nline.
    All in all a good FAMILY car, but No doubt engine refinement is still an issue, so Tata needs to work on that.

    One thing I want to add, not all viewers are perf enthusiasts...
    so you should consider this point before reviewing any vehicle.
    DCA + NA combo doesn't seem to be targeted for perf enthusiasts.
    So no point harping about lack of power, lack of thrust in the car.
    Also, from what I have heard, 85% of Altroz sales are of NA petrol which proves my point.

      Bro actually it has sufficient power , no one provides more than that under 10 lakh , if tata gives turbo than it is not be a cost effective one. Which might be not good for tata.

      Altroz xza+ top variant is price compatible with i20 sportz.. which is ivt..
      And features wise Altroz is way ahead. Hyundai being a global company definitely has years of advantage but for a normal person for regular commute, Altroz power is good enough

    Why would it shift up when you are flooring the accelerator?
    It shifts fast when you are smooth with it, else it would think you want to accelerate fast and hold on to lower gears.

    Hope tata offers the upcoming revtron 1.5, which claims 160 bhp, in the altroz. And obviously with both manual and DCA options. It would fill the gap of the Abarth punto which is sold no more.

      No one buys expensive turbos in our price sensitive market. Tata's engine might not be as smooth as the competition but it is as reliable which matters more. Also you can't provide best in class everything within 10 lakh and Tata didn't compromise on safety and ride which competitors do. All the reviewers are hell bent on performance while the market don't demand performance oriented cars. So good decision from Tata tbh.

So in my opinion it is not a deal breaker since we are getting a way better safety package. Also this engine, regardless of power figures, is not "UNRELIABLE" tbh, no one has faced serious issues till now.
      You are comparing apples to oranges which make no sense.

    What i heard tata is giving it ecu updates over times so, ig that might improve the smoothness. But again let's accept, 3 cylinder engines are pretty limited to tuning. What it needs later is a turbo 4 cylinder. When diesels will get banned

      It's smoother than other dct gearboxes at lower speeds, this engine gearbox combo is not suited to his kind of driving that's all

      Question isn't about whether it's 3 or 4 cylinder, both can be tune for performance, efficiency and refinement(if engineered well). Problem is tata don't know how to make a good engines. Everyone, right from management to RnD engineers either have no experience at all or may be unwilling to give their best.

      @@yash_kambli I mean they can do some hardware changes. Like higher compression pistons, variable valve timing and cam lift, better fuelling control. For refinement maybe balancing weight and stronger engine mounts should be given.

    I exactly felt the same on my Nexon diesel. Most of the time it's finding hard to pull but any Maruthi car next to me just pulls like anything. I know people will say safety but punch (not tata punch) is also more important for drivers

    Thanks for the drag comparison with i20. Happy owner of altroz diesel. Even after 1.5 years of owning the car, i still get eyeballs in towns and villages. Altroz diesel has the oomph to keep up with smaller audis and beamers on highways. I did 170 and it was very stable even at that speed. You will realize the chassis dynamics of altroz after you cross 100kmph.

    I own a tata too, its 2008 model. The demerits are engine performance,
    the panel gaps,
    nvh,
    the THAKK sound while operating lock
    Gearbox long throws and slipping problem
    Acceleration

    All are persent in this 2022 car as well.
    I love tata and really want it to be my next car. But i really want that tata should produce a car which is fun to drive and also premium. But even to this day. There isnt a single car that has addressed these problems. I really really want tou to deliver us a good product. Common tata tou can do it.

I have that car and really nice no jerks nothings, how he is comparing with AMT. He should go and drive baleno with full throttle. Dont make wrong interpretations.     Altroz DCA simply lacks any pickup.
    If we press the accelerator hard, the rpm increases without any actual pickup.

    Tata have played it very smart. Most of the buyers in the sub 10 lakhs price bracket ( on road) have only experienced AMT or CVT transmission. Even with a slightly average engine, offering a proper Dual Clutch automatic will definitely increase their market share.

      I own accomplished amt punch, u can choose it if you can compromise a bit on engine and initial pickup... I took punch bcz of bad roads in my place and punch is superb in off roading, so it all depends on your preferences

      With new engine with more power and torque, mileage will fall drastically which would throw Tata out the Car arena.

      They already have a revotron 4 cylinder in zest and bolt.
      It was so smooth but mileage was 2kmpl lesser than the three cylinder.
      Hence chose 3 cylinders in all new cars for better mileage .
      3 cylinders also have lesser pollution than a 4 cylinder. Thus minimising cost of catalytic converts in exhaut.

    Another thing that I noticed in your video from 17:55 onwards that the car seems to hold its pace and the needle sort of stops going up when its making the gear shifts. Which essentially makes a torque converter better than this DCA atleast. Makes no sense whatsoever

    The more features u keep on adding ....higher the chances are of malfunction... And these generation cars need to visit service center once anything goes wrong or malfunction... Rest i like the altroz for its design !!

    Guys please understand No car is designed to with stand a crash at a 80 + speed. India conditions are still not ready for 120 speed. If it is 3 line exp way then the right most line is for 120km+ speed, trucks should never drive on this line. It is only for cars. Truks can use only last time with max speed of 80. Center line is for max 100 speed. This needs to followed. But in india this is not followed strictly.
