This is one of the oldest town of odisha. The paika bidroha also started in Banpur by Baxi jagabandhu.
& Also the literacy rate of this area is almost 94%& this is the home of so many greatest personalities.

This is our town. History and heritage of Banpur is very rich. Daksh prajapati temple is the symbol of utkal art and sculptures. Late Pt. Godavarish Mishra is also from this place.

You have Missed the village BHIMPUR in Banpur. Which is the 2nd largest village of Odisha. In village there is lot of temples. The freedom fighter krushna chandra Tripathi's native place. Lot of information about it

@@narasingaraokanapaka3541 Bhimpur gets 1.5 -2 km (approx) distance...This village having own history as well as important personality who have devoted his life for our odisha and India freedom of struggle....Different sculpture and temples are found.... If have any holiday keep spent some time here with people of Bhimpur who are lovable....
