There are probably many things she and I would not agree on. But her saving grace is that you could have a debate with her without her demonizing you or trying afterwards to "cancel" you. Her reasonableness in this regard is a trait almost completely lacking on the Left (and too much of the Right, for that matter.)

It was really helpful for Bari to describe a definition of Anti-Semitism; people throw around the term all the time but she actually but some meat on the bones of what that phrase actually entails in modern society. She's really intelligent and doesn't fit neatly into the "right/left" paradigm. I wonder if they would have fired her at the NYT if she didn't resign. Thanks for the informative interview, Margaret!
@@shawnruby7011 It seemed to me that the entire interview was Weiss citing specific examples of what she considered anti-semitic policies and philosophies. She presented cases and I suppose it's up to the viewer to decide whether they count as anti-semitism.
I found her book to be conceptually all over the place, a rushed mess. If I was a high school teacher and she turned in that book I wouldn't even give it a passing grade. At times it was also just misleading. In chapter 3 she wrote "For the second time in American history, Jews were shot dead as they prayed in synagogue, this time in Poway California". That's "Jews" as in plural, more than one. 1 Jewish worshipper was shot and killed that day while several others were injured. But read it again "For the second time in American history, *Jews* were shot dead as they prayed in synagogue, this time in Poway California". It clearly gives the impression that there were multiple deaths. How this passed the editorial stage without being amended is beyond me. She also talks about other bigoted attacks (against Sikhs, Muslims, blacks and others) in a way that is supposed to create a narrative of America suddenly becoming a dangerous place for Jewish people? Non-Jewish victims, including the 50 Muslims of the Christchurch massacre, are morbidly paraded in front of the reader as proof that "It was clear after the Poway attack that Jews, never mind everyone else living in a divided nation awash in weapons owned by people who could radicalize themselves in front of computer screens, had reason to be afraid in America". I'm pretty sure blacks and Native Americans were already pretty scared about living in America for hundreds of years before the Poway shooting. This book demonstrates the myopic, sheltered world view of this immature young woman.
