This video is fabulous! The deck is objectively beautiful and I can also see why and how it wouldn't give you much to work with if you were looking for mundane solutions/answers. The part of the story that fascinates me the most is the fact that two different people counted the cards before you purchased them. I also find it interesting that the two cards that aren't there are also cards a very skittish/literal minded person might remove from a deck in order to accommodate their own comfort zone level. The closest thing I have to a story like this one relates to a deck I was gifted, ostensibly because its original keeper wasn't using it enough. As soon as I took it out of the box, I recognized it had a capacity for brutal honesty. That doesn't bother me at all, but I'm fairly certain I received it because its original owner has many layers of resistance to personal honesty of any kind. I've grown aware they were secretly hoping I'd have a similar 'unpleasant' experience, because not long after they gifted it to me, it grew vividly apparent that they resented and disliked me tremendously. It wasn't long before they stopped concealing that fact in some extremely effed up ways. Meanwhile the deck projects ongoing contentment from its place on the shelf, and outright happiness any time I work with it. I've never experienced that type of self-generated sentience with any other deck. I use it sparingly and yet every single day it vibes its affection and gratitude to be valued for what it is and how it works.
Back in my late teens I purchased a Mass Market deck in a high vibe store but as soon as it was out of the box, I sensed profoundly malevolent energy. The awareness quickly became so disruptive at a psychic level that I took it far away from my home and buried it beneath a tree. I've since learned more about the deck's inception and original purpose that both explains and confounds my experience with it, but it's not an interesting story.

      Thank you 💜
As you say it, "self-generated sentience", I think that's a perfect term! It's sort of like that story of the Velveteen Rabbit, I think, "loved to life" but with emotions other than love. Like so much energy had been poured over it that it took on a life of its own.
Your deck sounds very similar! I love that you notice its energy even when not using it, those are valuable things to have in our home 😊 I'm sorry that you lost a friend in that instance, but I'm glad you could see through their deceptions!
It's so interesting that you had a strong experience with a mass market deck, too! I can see why that could be the case, though; the process of designing a full deck takes a lot of the artists time and energies, so that intent and vibration could absolutely remain, even in reprinting. Thank you for sharing such cool stories!

I adore this video. I think it speaks to experiences a lot of people have with their magickal tools (especially the ones that have a very particular voice/attitude 😅)
I also really appreciate your sentiment on how the mystery of the deck is part of it's power- couldn't agree more!
