It makes me so happy to see you take so much care of this doll! You have such a kind heart. It makes me want to go save the one that has been sitting in my mom's garage!
I remember my first cabbage patch kid in 1983 or so. I lost it in a house fire. I recently started finding them at thrift stores. They are in bad shape but with care I can rescue them too. I've got 3 so far.
I so enjoyed your video. I'm a cabbage patch collector and child of the 80's. I'm very nostalgic and these dolls bring back great memories for me. Thank you for sharing!
Good find! You cleaned her up well! I have 7 of them. I cut my cabbage patch kid's hair off and discarded her in the closet, when I was 5. I never pay more than $5 for one. (because Xavier Roberts stole the idea and exact design from a wonderful, kind-hearted woman!) Martha Nelson Thomas didn't want her dolls marketed like this, may she rest in peace.
Your pretty nails you should of worn gloves.. When I was little my mom would use cornstarch on my cabbage patch and adoption dolls, it would take the dirt out pretty well. Borax also works very well.(if you are going to toss them in the washing machine, toss in some borax) Using original Lysol spray will take out ball point pen. What a special find, you did a great job with her. I miss mine for when I was a child. :)
U took such great care of this CP baby! I could watch u pick thru her hair all day! So relaxing & ur voice is soothing! Please do anotherr longer video doing her hair🤗
Great video. The best part was the slow and methodical way you sorted through the doll's hair. I think you may have found an ASMR niche...rambling while the camera is focused in tight on your hands as they are engaged in a monotonous task (sorting coins, separating paper clips). I fell asleep so many times while watching this it was just sooo relaxing! Thanks for posting this
A magic eraser , and zit cream mixed with some clorox cream would have been much easier for you to use on her face. It does miracles. You did a great job though
HI, I just came across your video. Your did a great job with this Kid ! I am in my 40's an I grew up with these dolls as well as a child. In the next month are so I plan to get me a orignal hand stitched cabbage patch kid from the genral hospital in georgia where these dolls are made an sold. I enjoyed your video. Have a great & blessed day. Love, Kim
Hi, to wash a really stained & dirty one I got at the thrift, I poured Tide on the stains, and covered her face with a thick sock. (sometimes white stains come on my other one) I also put oxiclean into the machine. Washed on heavy soil. Dried her with a Tennis ball. She came out spotless & perfect. Hope that helps
I am glad you saved here this doll watched a girl grow into o young lady most likely to be put away and forgotten and then left behind and eventually thrown away to be found by you. I think it was ment to be and I wouldn't use polish remover that could melt the plastic or remove the eyes ect magic erasers work great. And that is nice your cpk won't be so lonely anymore. I have a few myself and I have a friend that has fished these dols out of the trash as well. for those marker stains some oxy acne cream one it and sit her in the sun for a few days might help. I am sure she thanks you greatly
I stumbled upon your channel and viewed your newest acrylic ASMR nail video and loved the sound your long nails made. Your hands look very young and those long nails looked very pretty one you
Hello, I am a collector and have bought a few from ebay that weren't in that great condition, and what I have done to restore them in spray some shout all over them, especially in the really bad areas, and then I soak them in the sink in really hot water and some oxy-clean. It's really a task to rinse the body by twisting it for several hours, or you could even wrap them up in a pillow case and toss them in the dryer on the low cycle. I then take a toothbrush and get around the mouth, nose and eyes, and I continue to use the shout or even the resolve cleaner on their body and continue to scrub. I haven't found anything to really clean magic marker, but I think if you would continue using the nail polish remover, eventually it will finally come off. Really great job.
back in the 80's the cabbage patch was crazy! my mom was standing in line fending for her life just for a doll. everyone was screaming and fighting over everything.
Amazing Video i love it. your so amazing saving that doll. she's in good hands now she will never be put into a trash bin ever again. i know she can't wait to see your other doll so they can be sisters :)
I'm soooooooo sorry for that poor cabbage patch kid I have that type of cabbage patch kid but it's a boy and not one of the new versions but mine is named dentan yours is cute too and you did a really good job cleaning up the little girl you're very nice
What a cutie definitely deserved a chance. She needed the love. She is a cutie. I know that they were kids but the parents fought for this dolls and then the kids drew all over the faces and the hair was ruined. ☹️ to think these were not taken care of well.
Put benzoyl peroxide pimple cream on the facial stains and leave it on for a week and then check if the stains came off. If it's gone, then just wash it off. If not, reapply and leave it on for a few days more. Repeat until the stains are gone.
Aww. You're an absolute sweetheart. I know this is belated, but I wouldn't judge you. I was born right near the end of the first wave of Cabbage Patches. (They're actually still made today, just by a different company, but what you have there is a Coleco kid but you likely already knew. Anyhow, some of my favorite Kids are the ones from the eighties, who I buy off eBay. And I always refer to them by their genders. So you're just fine. Thank you for rescuing that Kid. I'd have done the same thing. I'm totally blind though, so I likely wouldn't've noticed. I like all my Kids equally, but probably the most awesome one I have is a cornsilk girl with a left-handed hand that holds. But yours is adorable. I asked a sighted person for a description. /Sorry for rambling, but so many people just throw those out and it makes me really sad. So seeing you rescue one did me good.
Good LORD. 🤦♀️ The person that had it before was a child they probably loved and took it everywhere as children do, that's the whole point of a toy. Are they not allowed to? And the parents probably told them to give it away or trash it. Sheesh don't act like you never had toys get dirty or broken. Also not everyone can hang on our keep everything they own. If that's how you feel you should honestly never have kids. 🤦♀️🙄
Try Oxy face scrub on her face. Smear it all over and then put her where the sun will hit her face for the longest time of the day. You should see all the marker marks disappear. Once they are gone, then you can just rinse her off. Also, scrubbing her face with toothpaste initially will take off most of the gunk without causing damage. I always do that first, then finish with the oxy. You throw the dolls in the dryer, just make sure you do so with them tied in a pillowcase first and with put in with some towels to protect them from rubs. Stain Stik works great on cloth stains. :)
I have a girl with brown hair, brown eyes and no dimples, plus the big missing chunks of hair lol I think she was meant to have braids too, like you said. My mom get her for her birthday, since they look similar, and I inherited her. She cleaned up super well, her body is in great condition now that I resewed her joints, and rubbed her face with some alcohol.
Soak it in a bottle of peroxide and water all day in the washer and all of the stains will be gone , it won't hurt the doll at all , peroxide works like a color safe bleach you can also put some baking soda in the water as well , I would wash my dolls with a few tshirts that I knew wasn't going to fade like white or gray or a bed sheet and it got mine cleaner than just the dolls by themselves
Same here now my mom is confused about my emotions about them because I used to have tons of them but there in my grandmothers basement and they were my moms old cpk
Here's how ya do it!! 😃 1.) wear gloves 2.) in a sink pour nail polish remover or alcohol on her face 3.) leave for 10-20 minutes 4.)check after 10 minutes first (you don't wanna overdue it!!! 😁 5.) wipe with a towel completely 6.) use fabric refreshing spray on soft cloth body 7.) wash hair with warm water and laundry soap 8.) blow dry or wrap head in towel exposing JUST HAIR and leave outside for an hour 9.)dress up and play!!! 😊 It's sad but I as a young child used to DESTROY these dolls I didn't know any better but when I found them recently I did what I said up top and it worked for me!!!
Did you put her in the dryer when you were done? I found my moms when she was younger and they smell obviously because they have been down their for like 20 years but I just wanna know to make sure she won’t melt or something
I just came across a box of 7 CPD's, 3 boys & 4 girls, 2 red heads, a blond, all 3 girls have the yard hair and the 4th girl has much thicker strands of blond hair. The 3 boys are all curly hair, 2 blonds & the other looks like a dark red or brownish color. I want to restore & sell them. Need help. Any help you can give will be much appreciated.
I wanted one when they came in but my husband said no. I've got some now, I also had six stolen and I gave a few away. But they make you smile and clothes are made by people on eBay etc I love them
My mom put some old dolls in my room for a long time and I never knew why till two years later they were for me to play with my mom said she had a cabbage pack kids
I love these dolls they are still popular they have ones now that have teeth I love them I had one that was a boy and he was my first kiss lol love ur voice
Maybe you should go to the Babylon general it's really cute it's a huge hospital for........cabbage patch kids and there's baby cabbage patch kids go through there
I have that same doll! I got it from my mom when I was little, it used to be hers. I cut her pony tails to super short :( I really regret it. Other than that though she is in really good condition.
I am a man at 42 and I think you did a lovely job for this doll ...and I am not ashamed that I like Cabbage Patch Dolls!

It makes me so happy to see you take so much care of this doll! You have such a kind heart. It makes me want to go save the one that has been sitting in my mom's garage!
Do it!❤️
if you ever do this again try using a Mr. Clean magic eraser to clean the face. Alcohol and polish remover can mess up the look of the vinyl.
I'm not sure if you're still doing asmr but you really do have such a calm and relaxing voice
I use this for an asmr some times
I remember my first cabbage patch kid in 1983 or so. I lost it in a house fire. I recently started finding them at thrift stores. They are in bad shape but with care I can rescue them too. I've got 3 so far.
I have 2 1973 little people.
I have five
I so enjoyed your video. I'm a cabbage patch collector and child of the 80's. I'm very nostalgic and these dolls bring back great memories for me. Thank you for sharing!
I still collect them. My mom just gave me a redhead that she found at a thrift store. Nobody bought her so my mom took her home and gave her to me.
Good find! You cleaned her up well! I have 7 of them. I cut my cabbage patch kid's hair off and discarded her in the closet, when I was 5. I never pay more than $5 for one. I absolutely adore this video 💜 Such compassion you showed to this special doll.
Awe, I'd love to see a video with this cutie in it again. Like an update on how she's doing 😄. Love cpks ♥️
great video, you have a beautiful voice, the hair/yarn straightening is not boring at all, very soothing
Your voice is so relaxing. I love my dolls. I fix dolls as well. Watching this made me so happy :) thank you
Your pretty nails you should of worn gloves..

They're still really popular. I'm 16 now, and I collect them myself.

I could listen to you say yes and mhm all day
A magic eraser , and zit cream mixed with some clorox cream would have been much easier for you to use on her face. It does miracles. You did a great job though
Oxyclean spray will get the stains out of the body.... Just a little spot spray on the stains and a good rubbing with a damper cloth😊
Love this video! You have a very relaxing voice. I have two Cabbage Patch Kids myself, two boys.

They are still popular!! Have seen them at Walmart a few times! I love your voice! It’s so calming!

Omg your voice is so calming.
I'm glad you saved her. good on you!
Did you know that the creator of cabbage patch dolls copied the idea from a lady who made them. He even stole the exact design
Yes, I've seen a documentary about it. She was so nice and didnt want her dolls marketed like that. Xavier Roberts is a pig.
Yep, even the concept of them being adopted instead of purchased.
martha nelson
I KNOW THATS SO CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love coming back to your channel and watching old vids haha. I brought my teddy to college too!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I stumbled upon your channel and viewed your newest acrylic ASMR nail video and loved the sound your long nails made. Your hands look very young and those long nails looked very pretty one you
Just love your videos. You have such a wonderful voice. I love the talking whilst doing a task with your hands. So relaxing. X x
I wish you had done the hitchhikers on the hair the whole video! It was so relaxing
Twin Pines of Maine makes many fine cleaning products and other products for all dolls. These are the ones I use to remove ink stains.

Feel bad for the doll I'm glad you found it you derserve it more than the person who had it before

Thank you for saving this baby I enjoyed her "glow up"

Same here now my mom is confused about my emotions about them because I used to have tons of them but there in my grandmothers basement and they were my moms old cpk
Thank you so much for saving her. I save them and sell them on Etsy ❤
I always use those magic erasers to clean off the dolls faces of my daughters
Here's how ya do it!! 😃
1.) wear gloves
2.) in a sink pour nail polish remover or alcohol on her face
3.) leave for 10-20 minutes
4.)check after 10 minutes first (you don't wanna overdue it!!! 😁
5.) wipe with a towel completely
6.) use fabric refreshing spray on soft cloth body
7.) wash hair with warm water and laundry soap
8.) blow dry or wrap head in towel exposing JUST HAIR and leave outside for an hour
9.)dress up and play!!! 😊
It's sad but I as a young child used to DESTROY these dolls I didn't know any better but when I found them recently I did what I said up top and it worked for me!!!
magic erasers work great on facial stains. Just be gentle! :)
the polish remover will remove the eyes after 10 min.
Did you put her in the dryer when you were done? I found my moms when she was younger and they smell obviously because they have been down their for like 20 years but I just wanna know to make sure she won’t melt or something

Did you ever take the cabbage doll with the other one? Lol would love a video of them together haha
