I really enjoyed this video. The performance was excellent. I could hear the character changes within the piece. Yet, you connected everything and it all fit so well with the overall flow of the piece. I appreciate the extensive breakdown of the piece. Isn’t it funny that the time signatures become mental playing obstacles. In this case, while listening, the meter really didn’t strike me as the focus. In the end, for me it really felt like a nice line because of how you connected the ideas. Oh, I really like the camera editing.
I think I might have a different edition than you. I have 11/8 for the 5.5/4 bar. Overall, I found your video to be helpful in my interpretation of this piece. It's fun to play, challenging, and very expressive. Thank you.
@@callyclarinet Ok. So I had to dig it out of the archives. My copy does have the 5.5/4 bar. But I crossed it out and put 11/8 and wrote in some appropriate subdivisions. Since it was out, I gave it a read through or two. It's such a hauntingly beautiful piece. For reference, the last time I played it was 20yrs ago at my senior recital.
I love this piece, and this is a really good performance of it!
I always learn something new when viewing your videos ! Thank you 😊

"Retrospettivamente"
When words like that come up that I'm thankful I'm italian and don't have to translate/look up the meaning.
Btw, well pronounced!
Yeah, I think I sounded just like this in my lesson, LOL. NOT.
Lovely Cally! I’ll keep working…

Really? That's interesting, I didn't know there were multiple editions. Thanks!

So there is a term to describe all my playing. Pathetically. 😂
So you've been listening to me😂
