Just FYI there is a fall damage feature. There are certain areas where you can jump from a high enough area and take damage. You can do cloud step to assist in avoid this damage however.
There's definitely fall damage, I found that out the hard way 😂 In the forest area leading up to the fight with the golden version of the Big-headed guy, I was able to jump down from the top of a rocky hill instead of following the path and running around. The jump I did left me with 1HP 😂 I don't know whether all falls will leave us with 1hp (a la Destiny 2) or if falls/jumps from a greater height will actually kill us.
You can also fall in some places in Chapter 2, like at the very beginning once you climb on the cliff you can jump back into the bottom area an get hurt ...
Not really lol. The game literally gives you everything you need to progress. People are just going vanilla and not exploring. As if there's no left and right path and only going in 1 straight line. Noobs
There is fall damage, learned the hard way fighting a mini boss on a bridge. Theres then a game tip about fall damage saying ro roll last second to reduce/nullify damage. But long falls are still instant death
@@xseveredsaintx there is you find immediately in the chapter one in snake area The shortest way to farming area is jump from the bridge and you always lose a little hp
They definitely used the Dark Souls blueprint with bonfires, flask, dodge based combat, etc. But they went with Ghost of Tsushima’s stance trees, meditation spots, etc. It mostly works well, but it definitely helps to be able to respec infinitely to match stance/styles to each boss.
Which is smart given that in the Mythos Sun Wukong can do pretty much everything and has a weapon that can do almost whatever he wants. So as a balance, they let you do everything, just not all at once.
So it's a Souls like. Stances etc don't make a game a Ghost of Tsushima or God of War. However key game mechanics like bonfires, flasks, vague NPC quests, a literal grace when you are close to a shrine, and so on make it undeniably a Souls like

@@mookyyzed2216 it's called begginers guide, what makes you think someone who's already finished the game would want to watch It? Anyone would think that this video is probably for someone who didn't play the game yet.
Yeah, as other commenters’ pointed out, the idea that people would expect spoilers from a *Beginner’s Guide* with a thumbnail tagline of *Things I Wish I Know At LEVEL 1* is the kind of braindead take you can only pull out of your ass after getting shitfaced or lobotomized. What a stupid thing to say.
The wandering wight fight is optional but I noticed if you wait too long before going back to fight him he dissappears. I think it has to do with the bells so make sure you fight him before ringing the 3rd bell in chapter 1.
No parry! I am extremely happy about that! I hate parrying and the instant death, that often comes when it fails. Number 1 reasons I hate playing Sekiro!
When you can bro get the staff spin skill tree maxed it’s litter final one gives you a massive boost to charged points for every time i hits an you can dodge out if it faster
It also generates a ton of Qi. That means one knock down or immobilize will get you max Focus or two knockdowns will get you a full Qi bar again (depending on cost)
So I would say the light combo will get used a lot to build focus, but as you acquire new spirits, have different staff / gear options that have benefits to certain skills and your ability to reset your skill trees as much as you like, you can really have a very different play through than another person. A different stance, set of spells, spirits and more can give it a different feel. The bosses have been quite varied and there are a lot of them. I’m really enjoying it, but I know some may not. It’s not open world but more linear with forks in the road , which some may like if they have open world fatigue.
@Ebontis You have a new sub for taking the time to reply me with an honest opinion. So, its more like sekiro in the world design then. I like that if it's done well, seems very souls like in general. Will be purchasing, thanks for again for the reply. Was very nice of you.
The combat can get repetitive based on how long you spend in certain areas. Enemy variety keeps going as you keep going, and that depends on your speed. You are always going to be using light attacks, but then you can use spirits, vessels, transformations, and spells. There are also 3 different heavy attacks that serve different purposes, but you always have access to. Ch3 got a bit repetitive because I spent sooooo long exploring, which meant running into the same enemies.
I bought this game last night and was disappointed with the subtitles that I could not read because I could barely see it. Also the monkey king is too far for me to see what he is doing far as fighting.
The surname of Wukong “Sun” actually is not pronounced as “son” but “soon”. So it’s Sun (soon) WuKong. 😅 But I believe only Mandarin-speaking players know this. Anyway I love the game. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

One small tip is that doing a jumping heavy attack is effectively a double jump for reaching spots you couldnt otherwise.
Nah that doesn’t work , you jump higher but then animate the heavy attack and your weapon gets in way
