If your going to mod your car dont be cheap, these cars are expensive to build properly. Whether your car is modded or stock, take care of ur car and dont drive it an idiot and none of that shit will happen.

I went up my friend's driveway 11 and 1/2 km my car was overheating because there was so much snow I had to crawl out of my window to get the snow out in front of the rad so it would cool down and I could continue some more. I got a hundred bucks for plowing my friends driveway he didn't expect anybody to make it in let alone my Subaru

Our volvos are probably better at pulling stuff than subarus and audis, but I must admit. For drifting I prefer quattro awd(only been passenger in subaru so idk) and it sucks that you can't fully disable the traction control on volvo. I love the comfy ride and reliability of my volvo.

A lot of snow handling has to do with the tires. Despite how good an AWD system is, you’d just have twice as many wheels not getting traction with the wrong tires on.

My 1996 Eclipse GSX with Blizzaks was a little unknown snow beast, too. It was that car and the transformation snow tires provided which lead to my installation of snows on every car for 25 years. Even our Honda Fit became competent in snow. If only there was a way to get people out for hands-ons demonstrations.

Honestly I feel like that's underselling just how much AWD helps in the snow. If you get caught in a random snowstorm (I live in Denver so it happens lol), in a AWD car on summer tires you've still got a good chance of getting to work provided you triple your following distance and keep it under 40. In a FWD / RWD on summers though? Not a chance.
The secret in snow is to go easy on the gas. Bad drivers rev the engine up, the wheels spin and heat up, and nothing happens. Go very gentle, with a little rocking back and forth, and this car comes right out on its own.
If you are buried, nothing will work but a shovel, but if you can move a little ways you can often get out by gently going back and forth. I got out of a very steep driveway last night by digging a bit and then moving back a ways and then going forward just as easy as I could. Having a 4x4 doesn't hurt either. I have a Silverado. A good snow driver could drive the above Kia out with no help from a crew and a Subie.

I love that nobody is talking about how little the WRX actually did. It pretty much just got it moving, as soon as that kia had momentum it was moving itself. Right after that first tug the strap gets a bunch of slack, and after that it is clear to see that the movement of the kia is only coming from the kia itself. Also as soon as the kia gets stuck the second time the WRX cant even move it by snatching the strap.
most of the car has enough power to tug other cars. its the weight, tire and drive train that give you enough traction to be usable. even a 100hp car can tug.
If I need all wheel drive or 4x4 or whatever, its got to be a Subaru. Will last forever as well if looked after. I dont do many miles, will have to see if I move to Scotland !
why 1st gear? read any manual in any car even in automatic cars, start off in second gear and it'll gain more traction and less wheel spin not 1st gear revving at 5 000 rpm gg headgasket
What did it do exactly? The guy was heavy on the accelerator, which actually works against traction in the snow, and the other guy was on flat ground with very little snow, so its not as though he was dug in. All the Subaru had to do was get the other car moving and the other car helped as shown in the video. The Subaru did very little and both could have benefited from someone who knew how to drive in the snow. In short, just be gentle with the accelerator and apply even pressure. This was a lot of unnecessary noise and potential damage to the vehicles...
You're just going to need some snow tires basically and you can do the same you won't get stuck in the side of the road if you have snow tires in the deep snow you going to need some ground clearance too
AWD is nice! Got myself a 2015 Lexus IS350 F-Sport AWD. Got Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S’s for the summer, and Michelin X-Ice Snow’s for the winter. Feels like driving in summer conditions year-round.

I always see the confused looks of AWD and 4X4 drivers when I overtake them up hill in my 15yr old car. 🤣 I assumed they're on all seasons because they're struggling for traction and can't keep the vehicle straight.
I drive a 2008 Mazda 3 (bone stock) with snow tires and I was pleasantly surprised last winter when I was able to keep up with my buddy in an old Suby Outback who was just driving all willy nilly around town. Made it up some steep hills too, thankful for that manual transmission!

Subaru are ok as long as the snow isn’t deeper than the floor pans after that they are helpless once the snow floats them they sit pretty low.
What did it do exactly? The guy was heavy on the accelerator, which actually works against traction in the snow, and the other guy was on flat ground with very little snow, so its not as though he was dug in. All the Subaru had to do was get the other car moving and the other car helped as shown in the video. The Subaru did very little and both could have benefited from someone who knew how to drive in the snow. In short, just be gentle with the accelerator and apply even pressure. This was a lot of unnecessary noise and potential damage to the vehicles...
You're just going to need some snow tires basically and you can do the same you won't get stuck in the side of the road if you have snow tires in the deep snow you going to need some ground clearance too
AWD is nice! Got myself a 2015 Lexus IS350 F-Sport AWD. Got Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S’s for the summer, and Michelin X-Ice Snow’s for the winter. Feels like driving in summer conditions year-round.

@@wwiking8055 plenty people dont run snow tires and still are plenty capable. Although in all honesty sand tires are even better than snow tires, just are less usable off of snow
@@tylerkersten2621 okay here winter tires are mandated by law so it's really a no-brainer to use winter tires during winter. But here in Finland the roads get literally frozen like mirror smooth ice that you can skate on

Pffft! My FWD manual on proper winter tyres can handle this much snow like a champ! I live in a mountainous area and I can accelerate, brake and turn faster up and down the mountain all day long. I always see the confused looks of AWD and 4X4 drivers when I overtake them up hill in my 15yr old car. 🤣 I assumed they're on all seasons because they're struggling for traction and can't keep the vehicle straight.
I drive a 2008 Mazda 3 (bone stock) with snow tires and I was pleasantly surprised last winter when I was able to keep up with my buddy in an old Suby Outback who was just driving all willy nilly around town. Made it up some steep hills too, thankful for that manual transmission!

That's nice of you but would suck to blow your motor up pulling another car out like that revving that high with alot of load. Happened to my friends car

@@remissiveslave 97% of Subarus bought in Canada since the year 2000 are still on the road today. Cars can handle far more than a basic day lol. If u drove and had a new issue every day u need to learn how to drive bud.
@@BigMike48 anecdotal. You could look at a 2003 subaru and it's odometer and see 200+k doesn't mean it's motor is that old. I know a lot about their motors and unless your a liar or sycophant, you can't ignore glaring issues with their motors.

Subaru’s have the best and systems but 4wd is hands down the best for anything off-road. This is why you will never see a Subaru with a snow plow.
