I own both....my biggest differences....The RG you have a feeling that the front tire is extended out further than you do on a SG, this is due to the nose being so much further out front...so the RG "feels" a lot longer than the SG. The RG, counter steering and handling are more confident, as you do not have that extra 40-50 lbs of weight on the bars. If you ride aggressive in turns a lot I think the RG is better...(I ride my RG a LOT harder in turns than I do the SG) as it gives me much more confidence, its more responsive to rider input and I assume this is because of the lack of weight attached to the upper part of the bars. The SG has a MUCH BETTER rider bubble with a much lower shield since its so much closer to the rider. I have a 6 inch shield on the SG and a 9 inch on the RG....the RG is WAY noisier than the SG...both my wife and I 100% can certify that there is far less wind noise and you can hear the stereo MUCH BETTER on the SG. People have always said that the SG gets blown around on the highway moreso than the RG and is affected more when passing trucks and what not.....for US this has absolutely NOT been the case....motorcycles are affected by wind, thats just the simple facts of it...I have not noticed the RG being any less affected than my SG by gusts of wind....if anything it affects me MORE on the RG as my SG has a much better rider bubble. Like you Tall, I have never had ANY issues on my SG on the highway at all....but then again I also ride a sportbike and a triumph bobber, which REALLY get blown around...all my Harleys feel way more planted on the highway than other bikes and I think that can be attributed to the massive increase in weight than any other bike I own. I do absolutely LOVE the additional front storage on the RG but I love the gauge layout WAY MORE on the SG (I HATE looking down to see my RPM on the RG). Is one better than teh other...I dont really think so, I think its all about rider preference and each has advantages and disadvantages when compared to each other. I like the RG when I am riding aggressively and I like the SG when I am doing long trips and relaxing. (My wife likes the SG more, as she hates the additional noise on the RG and I REFUSE to put a 14 inch screen on it as I simply hate the look of the tall screen). Have a GREAT HOLIDAY TALL!! Thank you so much for all you do Brother!! Have a blessed holiday season!
I forgot one other thing....attachments on the bars....with the SG, you can attach ANYTHING you want and you know immediately how it will react when riding, as the entire front end turns with you. With the RG, I ALWAYS consider how its going to react with my stereo and everything else and where the cords are going to go etc.... I guess its another reason why I would use the SG to tour with, as I like the drink holder, phone holder, and anything else people mount to the bars and plug in and not have to even remotely worry about it.
Nailed it!👍🏻 I’ve owned both the street glide and currently own a 21 road glide and feel the same way! Love my new rd glide but the bat wing fairing had a much better rider wind bubble on the highway
I’ve ridden my Road Glide across the country and back and it was a dream to ride. Though with that being said, you can’t go wrong with either one. Each just has their character.
I ride a 2013 Streetglide, been riding all over the country on it. No abs brakes or computer screen. I've got my eyes peeled for a 13 roadglide but havnt came accross one. New bikes i like the ElectraGlide Standard wish there was a Roadglide like that without radio and computer screen. My 13 Streetglide has the best guages set up, so cool looking it never gets old
I have a 20 RGL. Fully Dressed with Stage IV Upgrade, D&D Full Exhaust, and Saddlemen Seats. Feels like I’m always watching a movie in High Definition while sitting on a couch when riding on the highway here in California. I love the RG, RGS, and the RGL.
I tried both. Over and over. I bought the road glide special. It was the more open feel I liked better. I also liked the glove box for my iPhone. Both are great bikes. The headlights on the road glide are fantastic. I can see the ditches on both sides for deer. It just comes down to what fairing you want.
For tall riders, the Road Glides are a roomier ride. And I like that the sharknose fairing has 2 storage pockets, each one much bigger than the batwings one small cellphone compartment.
If you're riding at night with deer around, I suggest 30mph maximum. They can literally run you over if you're barely moving. I never ride at after sundown or before sunrise here in MI for that reason. Please be careful!
I was told that if you are 5’10” tall or shorter the street glide is a better fit … 5’11” or taller road glide “fits better “ I am 6’3” and after owning a Ultra classic and Road Glide Special I personally agree with this formula.
I made the decision to get a streetglide after learning the differences between the two in your past videos. Great channel my friend, and always thankful for the info I find here!
Good honest review Tall _ I'm (or I should my son) is part of the Road Glide Special mob!! I'm considering the Road Glide Limited purchase. Thanks for sharing!
Tall I went from a 17 ultra limited to a 21 roadglide limited. I am now a believer in the roadglide. Both bikes are nice, but this roadglide is just a bit more comfortable. 114 vs 107, this 21 is geared taller. Into a wind is better on the glide. The 21s are so smooth and powerful.
I give you a + on the headlights...not taking anything away from the Street Glide, that is a plus...so yes, I give you that one...but the handling is truly different, as I have ridden both before I made my decision on going with the Road Glide, I came from a Kawasaki Ninja, so the fixed fairing is what I was use to, but, I did say but, I did give the Street Glide a chance to bring me into the Harley Davidson world as my first Harley Davidson, but the Road Glide won me over, due to the ride and the way it handled. So stay blessed Bro and keep on Gliding, soon to be Road Gliding...LOL 🤣🤣🤣
As a longtime harley rider I had street glides for may years. Love them, great bikes! I recently traded for a roadglide after to try it out, no regrets. They are both excellent, but I prefer the roadglide by a small margin. You look good on that roadglide Tall! Either way, keep glidin and smiling. God bless
I have to say both the Road Glide and Street Glide are awesome Harvey’s I like that the new ones both have the 114 cubic inch engine and most of all Harley Davidson is the best bikes in the world period!
All MAN , my buddy just got a road glide. He 5'7". I'm buying his neighbors 2010 street glide. Done very nice!. Selling my 06 softail after 8 months an 4000 miles. It's also nicely done. Great description of the bikes. I m commented and subscribing and following , share us too. Good times.
Been riding for 40 years every type of weather and situations been really thinking about a fixed fairing bike lately for my ultimate tourer.... Good points made.....
I’ve owned both. And both of them are great bikes. The SG feels planted to the ground. My bike didn’t shake when riding by trucks or in strong wind. The RGS is more comfortable. But that’s my opinion. You won’t be disappointed with either one. Harley Davidson has fined tuned these bikes to perfection. If you complain about ride quality with either one, you’re just looking for something to complain about. 💯💯💯👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿🎯🎯🎯. I’m going to buy the Pan-American after the holidays and the Road King Special after that. Gotta mix it up.
Love my SGS. I chose it over the Road Glide for two reasons. One, I didn't like having to look down more on the RG to find the speedo and tach. Two, the handlebar position on the RG has your hands pulled back with knuckles off to the side vs the SG with more of a knuckles ahead position. Just more comfortable for me. Both are GREAT bikes.
Yeah, but no one rides stock bars anyhow...the biggest improvement to the handling and comfort of your bike will absolutely be bars that are built to put your arms and hands where you like them....it will MASSIVELY improve riding comfort and your ability to counter-steer....so I wouldn't even consider bar position at all when comparing the 2, as 90% of us will correct it.
I have a SG, and I love it but I do like the pockets on the road glide fairing. And how big they are. It’s nice to be able to have room for more than just your cell phone.
I currently have a Road Glide and a Road king. I have ridden an Ultra thousands of miles along with my Road Glide. Truthfully IMO there is not enough difference to be a big enough deal to get excited about. Test ride both and see what blows your skirt up. Your not going to make a mistake with either of them. I think for many it comes down to which one they think looks better and that's just fine. The Road king is far more fun on the backroads without all of the high positioned weight of the others. The Road King feels like a hot rod in comparison and is much easier to flick around and have fun with. If I could only have one it would be the Road King and I would make do as far as GPS and storage is concerned for trips. There are plenty of work arounds to make that happen.
I have a 2019 Road Glide Special. I have ridden about 6 Street Glides. Everyone of them there was bad head shakes at highway speed. I only rode 1 Road Glide before I got my bike. I was sold. A lot of people say it’s not a difference. Ride them back to back and be honest with the rides. No way you can’t notice the difference. Both are great bikes, one is just a little better than the other .😎
I've ridden both for a number of years, but I prefer the Rushmore style Road Glide. It has an aggressive look and the dual headlamps makes riding a night or early morning no problem. The light is so wide, you don't have to turn your bike to see out to the sides (of course, you can always put some Custom Dynamics on it). As mentioned, the newer model also provides the handlebar controls instead of reaching for the radio like the older models. The biggest plus is the space to hold the call phone. As for the fixed fairing, I don't feel much of a difference unless the wind was really gusty. I'm not looking at tach/speedometers unless I really need to so placement of them is not an issue. Get out there and ride!! @TravelingTall @HarleyDavidson #MyHarleyTradition
I rode a sgs for 6 years, great bike i loved it, but it would get a little shaky above 80 especially when passing a big rig. I test rode a rg and traded in my sgs for a cvo rg, it stays planted at all speeds no matter what your passing.
I've owned both. I had a 2015 Road Glide special and ended up trading for a 2017 Street Glide Special when the M8 came out. I ultimately went back to the Road Glide Special and love my 2019 RGS. It's all individual preference but I definitely prefer the frame mounted fairing on the Road Glide. My only issue, and it's the same issue with all Harleys is the absolutely horrible stock radio. I ended up buying the Sony head unit and I would NEVER go back to a stock Harley unit.
Tall, I have the highest respect for your loyalty (to the Street Glide) and HD intellect. However, your obstinance and inflexibility are showing because we both know, that you know which is the better bike. Your attempt at demonstrating objectivity comparing the Street Glide and the Road Glide is very good ... but the disingenuity is peeking through. Keep the Street Glide but get the bike that we all know you really want to have, the Road Glide. Your Street Glide friends and family will get over it!
As a new Harley owner, I opted for the Road Glide. My second choice (and it was VERY close) was a Road King. Last would have been a Street Glide. All great bikes! What made the difference for me? Aesthetics, purely aesthetics. The Road Glide won over the Road King because of the build-in navigation system. Even that was a bit of a toss-up, though, because I'd have an an add-on Garmin GPS needed for the Road King, and I like the Garmin functionality better. So, tough decision!
I demoed both back to back a few years ago and the RG felt huge in comparison to the SG just because of the visual presence of the bigger fairing, the bikes basically ride the same. Had to hunt for the gauges on both simply because I'm used to a sport touring bike with a digital speedo and analog tach right next to each other
That Road Glide would be a nice new build, Tall. Talk to them guys over at Moonshine Harley Davidson their engine packages are amazing, always ment to ask when you went there did you get to see some of the things they offer.
I had 3 different SG from 2013-2019. Made switch to RG. Loved the SG, but enjoying the RG more. Biggest difference for me is the lighter feeling of steering on the RG. Feels like you can throw the bike around easier. Not having headlights move is not a problem. I think people over think that. Keep making great videos Tall. Enjoying the content. FYI- BUY THE ROAD GLIDE!!
I absolutely agree with the whole headlight thing. No one is looking down or fixated on the lights as they’re turning. Idk why people always throw that in the topic of the 2.
The headlights are only any issue when sitting still. You can aim them to look around on the SG. But when it motion the headlights are always going to be pointed in the direction the bike is traveling. It’s a non-issue.
I bought my first Harley last year came from all sport bikes. I was really torn between the two. I love the look of the dual headlights of the RG coming down the road. It really came down to the rider view of the SG for me which is what I’m always looking at when I’m riding. Both are beautiful bikes. Everyone I ride with has RG’s so I’m glad I went with the SG just to be different. Got a great deal on a 2020 left over CVO for the same price as a 21 special would of cost . Love your content 👌🏻
Thanks for the explanation. I live in Nebraska and it does get really gusty so handling is important to me. I'm also taller so seating position is something I'm looking for
Out of all the videos I've watched lately, this one is up there with the best. Very informative and I like your attitude . God bless you in the name of Jesus Christ. SPORTSTER4LIFE here, could never afford a r.g. or s.g.
GOOD SHOW TALL !!!! That was about the best demo of the differences I have heard. And I agree 100%. I have owned both models and discovered that FOR ME the Street Glide was much more manageable. I never could get use to or comfortable with that shark nose fairing .... especially in tight or U-turns. I put about 10K miles on that 2015 Road Glide Special before I traded back to a Street Glide. The "fatique" issue you spoke was not noticeable by me at all. And most of my riding is long distance. Anyway I enjoyed your video .... THX ... as always for sharing !
Tall be making these touring bikes look like softails. LOL. Mountain of a man. Great video sir. Never knew about turning the wheel on the street glide to help get the bike up. That's amazing.
I have a Night Train and have never ridden the RG or SG, but just looking at them it I get the feeling the SG keeps your hands out of the wind better than the RG. That could turn into a big deal if it was really cold out. If I decided I wanted a bike with a fairing then I'd be looking for the one that gives the most wind protection.
When Bambi totaled my Road King, I knew I was going to go Street Glide or RG. I rented each. Took it to the mountains on consecutive weekends in Western NC & rode the well known roads in the area. Rode the Interstate for 4 hours before getting to me destination. (Maggie Valley) Both were pretty much the same to me. Nothing magical & so called "better handling" of the RG. So I would buy either & ended up buying an Ultra Limited. I prefer the dash of the Batwing way more than the Shark, although I prefer the look of the Shark from the front.
I have a 2015 Electra limited and 07 RG. Bat Wing definitely better wind protection but then I put lowers on the RG and now thinking about trading Ultra for RG Limited. Lowers made all the difference as far as wind noise. Can hear music so much better and can wear a cap turned the right way and it won’t blow off.
I agree the wind argument isn't really noticeable. Also the headlight being able to turn only helps when you are sitting still. When you are moving you aren't actually turning the handle bars enough to , make a difference. I don't use GPS or listen to music when I ride so neither system makes a difference to me. I like the way the gauges are on the Street more than the Road personally. Both good looking bikes and it would be a hard pick between the two, but I prefer the looks just a bit more on the Street.
I prefer my streetglide, that road glide is nice! But if you do get the roadglide.. I would love to see your content on how you definitely make it your own!
Both bikes are great bikes . I currently own an 2018 Road Glide, with 26K miles ridden . I’ve previously owned a 2013 Ultra Limited , 2002 ElectraGlide Classic . The biggest difference comes in when you travel , ride 500 miles on a bat wing and ride 500 miles on a Road Glide, you will not be as tired at the end of the day on a Road Glide .
Tall, thanks again for a great video. I think I am choosing to go with a Road glide. I am 6'4" and weigh 270 pounds. my bride likes to ride with me and we believe we will enjoy the Glide family for many years. Keep up with the great videos.
I like both I would probably pick the road glide but there is one thing that’s stopping me from doing that and that is I love the old nostalgic look of the heritage.
I’d be happy with either one. Both are beautiful bikes, I’m leaning towards a street glide because it’s actually the first Harley I ever got to ride so there’s a feeling of nostalgia about it.
I've had a Street Glide and Road Glide (both the previous generation). Though I LOVE the look of the Road Glide, it was my least favorite of 5 Harley Baggers (also had 2 Road Kings and just brought home my 2014 Ultra Limited today). My Street Glide was by far my favorite. I did 43k miles in about 2.5 years. Most of which was while living in Sicily.
SG every day of the week for me, for both appearance and function. I've never used the storage compartment in the faring, i always keep my phone in my jacket. If I'm ever in an accident or get tossed from the bike, I want the phone with me. The RG is awesome in its own right, and I know it's the more popular style right now. It would be cool to have both, but I love my SGS.
I'm comming from a zx14. I've been on the fence for about 2 months now. This is a great video but I I still can't decide. Rode my first harley 2 weeks ago loved it!!
As a newer Harley rider, which I have only ridden an Electra Glide for about 3 years, I would have to say my preference would be the Street Glide. Nothing against the Road Glide, as it's a sharp bike, but I like the look and ride of the Electras and Streets. While I love the storage of Electras, the next bike will be a Street Glide. Found your channel as a suggestion from TH-cam, and I'm glad that it popped up. You have a new subscriber and definitely looking forward to watching more videos. Ride safe!
When I first got into motorcycles I knew I wanted a Harley. At first, I couldn’t stand the look of their touring bikes with fairings and ended up buying a Fatboy. Within six months I realized I needed storage and comfort for long distance riding. I purchased a 22 RGS and could not be happier. I couldn’t get use to the SG’s ugly batwing front end and feel the RG much more comfortable especially for taller riders.
From a performance standpoint the RG gets the nod which is why more performance parts fir the front end are available. If you look at hi performance HD the touring the RG is the top choice.
We met you at Wall Drug during Sturgis 2021. This is the first of your videos that have popped up in my feed. My hubby was already subscribed to you. I wish you would have ridden the bikes and shown the difference. I ride an Ultra Limited and would love to get a Road Glide, however since I am so tall waisted I feel like my head is being ripped off . The batwing fairing is so different in wind channeling. I run a high windscreen and still look over the top of it. My longest day is 1123 miles, while our typical day is 600 - 700 miles. High wind is VERY fatiguing on my Ultra due to my lack of upper body strength. I work out, but still wish I could have the fixed fairing. Since you are tall I would be interested in hearing your feedback, especially if you could ride with a flip up windscreen. No dealers ever have them as demos when I test ride. We go to the International Motorcycle show each year and test ride all makes of bikes, so I have ridden at least 30 Road Glides, all are head rippers. lol
I just love both. I changed to my rg but I loved the sg too. Both are just a ton of fun and the little difference you get used to in a minute and forget about it.
I used to have a RGU and I have a CVO Limited. When I first sat on the CVO it felt cramped and tiny compared to the RGU. I personally far prefer the Road Glide's fixed fairing to a Bat Wing fairing.
The headlight argument has been going on for a while, yes if you are stopped you can turn the Street Glides handlebars and shine the headlight in a different direction but a lot of people argue that its better in a curve but what they don't think of is that when you are above 30 or 35 mph you are counter steering and the front wheel doesn't really move one way or the other, if anything it is moving a very small amount in the opposite direction you are turning so the direction of the headlight isn't really different on either the SG or the RG. BTW I own an Electra Glide (pretty much a SG)
First let me say, that I have never ridden a Street Glide. That being said I've ridden over 100,000 miles on a RoadGlide. They are both great bikes and as you say, really the same bike exccept for the mounting of the faring. The only time you get the benifit of the light when turning is at slow speeds. Once you are counter steering the headlights remain straight ahead.
I ride a 2020 CVO Limited which has some similar features as the Street Glide. I love my CVO Limited. My wife ride a 2013 CVO Road glide, I have experience both. Like them both.
100 percent agree with everything ya said tall.i agonized on my choice and went with street I'm pretty sure u tipped me that way.i love em both don't make second guess myself 😉🍻👍🇦🇺
One thing I did notice when deciding on mine, and it's very small, is that at very low speed 5 or Less MPH in cornering you do feel the weight of the batwing over the weight of the glide. Now that being said, I do have to drive down a gravel road everyday that has deep spots and just straight up holes. I agree that I do feel more open on my RG, I was in between a RG and a Ultra Classic, and I just felt less cramped for space. Only watched a few videos of yours but will be definitely checking out more. I spotted where you were at Bootlegger in Knoxville and was like hey! I know that place. Maryville myself SMH-D!, I do got to go to BL to get the last of my local HD poker chips. Would be cool to meet you and talk about this topic and do some riding!
I love the 2 headlights on the RG. I’d wish HD would, in near future, redesign the fairing of SG with 2 headlights installed. I don’t know if that makes any sense.
Having had a 2014 Ultra Limited, and currently a 2018 Road Glide Ultra, the Road Glide is a better touring bike than any batwing in my opinion, and especially if you're north of 6' tall.
Bat wing wins hands down for myself, i look at the speedometer and tachometer way more then the navigation screen so having them above works great for me. I don't believe the myths about the differences between the fixed vs bar mounted, both work fine. The twin headlights are a definite plus but that can be fixed with a light bar or as i did lights mounted to the guards from the H.D. parts catalog. Then some light stays forward and some turn with the bars. I prefer the looks of the bat wing but that is 100% opinion. It's really awesome that they (Harley Davidson) make both 😎 video Tall... good luck with the itch to trade for the sharknose 😂😂😂 it will drive you 😤
None is better than the other. It depends on your taste in style, riding style, type of travel, etc. I have a SG and love it. I prefer the bat wing. 🔥🔥✌🏽
In my opinion, a taller rider would benefit ergonomically more on the RG just because the bars aren’t connected to the fairing allowing a further reach with modifications. I ride a 22 RGS and I’m 6’5. 16” Factory 47s, La Pera Daddy Long Legs seat to sit back further 2 inches, and Bad Dad forward controls has me completely stretched out on my bike.
I just moved from an 01 Electra glide to a 22 road glide. The wind definitely effects the bike much differently…. On my Electra glide, in a heavy cross wind, I could use the fairing as a sort of sail and tack my way through the wind…. I have to lean quite a bit more on my road glide to compensate for the wind… I will say, the air pocket my road glide cuts for me though is much more comfortable…
Weight distribution is very different between the two where the fairing in concerned in my experience. It's easy to be fooled by the road glides center weight as it seems lighter when stopped. Well until you realize you can tip it over too far if your not careful. I find the street glide to be definitely effected by the wind on the highway and it can make me nervous at times. I'd like to get a road glide out on the highway to see if I feel the same. If I were to get a second bike though I'd keep my street glide and get a Low Rider S for city daily stuff.
👍🏾 Very nice, Tall! 🦇 Wing guy here and I always will be. Never really like the look of the fairing in the RG. Plus as you mentioned, everything sits too far back. I’mma stick with the SG. Keep Glidin’ and have a blessed day. Yo! L.D.
I own both....my biggest differences....The RG you have a feeling that the front tire is extended out further than you do on a SG, this is due to the nose being so much further out front...so the RG "feels" a lot longer than the SG. It doesn't matter if your front fairing is attached to the handlebars ir not. The fairing weight still sits on the front end of the bike just the same
Best explanation I've seen so far.
Nailed it!👍🏻 I’ve owned both the street glide and currently own a 21 road glide and feel the same way! Love my new rd glide but the bat wing fairing had a much better rider wind bubble on the highway
Must be nice.. I’m tryna be like you my boy
I’ve ridden my Road Glide across the country and back and it was a dream to ride. Though with that being said, you can’t go wrong with either one. Each just has their character.
Great Comment... I Have A S.G But I Like Both.
After riding SG for 5 years, test rode a RG and bought one afterwards. RG handles so much better.
Agreed i ended up selling mine to get the RG and i had more features on my sg but i ride alot better on the RG
Allot of Twisties in the Appalachian mts as well as the blue ridge and smoky mts
love my RGS !!!!
I tried both. Over and over. I bought the road glide special. It was the more open feel I liked better. I also liked the glove box for my iPhone. Both are great bikes. The headlights on the road glide are fantastic. I can see the ditches on both sides for deer. It just comes down to what fairing you want.
I would like more storage on my Street Glide, thats my only complaint.
For tall riders, the Road Glides are a roomier ride. And I like that the sharknose fairing has 2 storage pockets, each one much bigger than the batwings one small cellphone compartment.
I’m with you! Living in Montana, animals are a huge problem. I won’t ride at night unless it is absolutely necessary.
If you're riding at night with deer around, I suggest 30mph maximum. They can literally run you over if you're barely moving. I never ride at after sundown or before sunrise here in MI for that reason. Please be careful!
bravo pour ta moto mon ami... congratulations on your bike my friend...
Ive been told by several people "ride both and you will KNOW which one u prefer." This video was very helpful. Thnk u
This video made me buy a road glide 2 years later. Much love from South Africa 🇿🇦
I was told that if you are 5’10” tall or shorter the street glide is a better fit … 5’11” or taller road glide “fits better “ I am 6’3” and after owning a Ultra classic and Road Glide Special I personally agree with this formula.
Actually road glide lights are better then street glide, because it is two of them and they have much wider coverage.
I own both street and road glide
I made the decision to get a streetglide after learning the differences between the two in your past videos. Great channel my friend, and always thankful for the info I find here!
Good info Tall. Appreciate it.
God bless
Thanks for watching and commenting James
I just wish you did not have a black truck right behind two black bikes. Would have been able to see them better. good video.
great meeting you at Maverick Harley a few weeks ago. Great Vid, keep it up!!!!!
Great Job Tall! I'm a Street Glide guy as well!
I have to say both the Road Glide and Street Glide are awesome Harvey’s I like that the new ones both have the 114 cubic inch engine and most of all Harley Davidson is the best bikes in the world period!
Fixed fairing on the Road Glide is great, very stable at cruising speed, just like the Honda Goldwing.
Thanks for the advice Heep
All MAN , my buddy just got a road glide. He 5'7".
I'm buying his neighbors 2010 street glide. Done very nice!.
Selling my 06 softail after 8 months an 4000 miles. It's also nicely done.
Great description of the bikes. I m commented and subscribing and following , share us too. Good times.
Been riding for 40 years every type of weather and situations been really thinking about a fixed fairing bike lately for my ultimate tourer.... Good points made.....
Tony is a good guy. I had the pleasure of meeting him earlier this year. My partner and I picked up a 2018 RG CVO from him. Awesome bike..
I prefer the more open feel of the RoadGlide. It's simply a matter of differing taste. Both are terrific bikes!
Big Man Chris, I like the way you think. I want a New Pan America and a Road Glide.
Thanks for commenting. Next time I'm on a Road Glide I'll check it out.
You can put the speedo on the screen instead of looking down
Either one is a dream for long distance.
There are plenty of work arounds to make that happen.
sounds like you're gonna buy a red challenger to me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Tony doin tall dirty at the end LOL 😂
Thanks for the videos, Tall.
I do like my, new to me, SGS.
Buy the way.
Do you have a seat recommendation?
I have a 2019 Road Glide Special. I have ridden about 6 Street Glides. Everyone of them there was bad head shakes at highway speed. I only rode 1 Road Glide before I got my bike. I was sold. A lot of people say it’s not a difference. Ride them back to back and be honest with the rides. No way you can’t notice the difference. Both are great bikes, one is just a little better than the other .😎
Thanks for watching and commenting Gary
I’ve seen all the comparison videos. Yours i by far the best. Simple, to the point, absolutely perfect brother. Great Job!!
I have a 2020 RGS... And I did the exact same thing...Sony7000 and 8 Hertz speakers...sound digital 800.4 amp
Tall go on and get you that RG you deserve it. Tony will get you set up.
Thanks for commenting. This will help others to decide.
Yeah, especially as HD generally doesn't put heated grips on their bikes (why the touring models don't come with heated grips is beyond me).
I test rode both and got a 2019 street glide CVO.
Great Video Tall... I Have A Street Glide... But I Like Both.
Tall, I told you a while back that I see a Road Glide in your future... The fixed fairing will give you an amazing ride Bro... seriously!!!...
You know you want both Tall don't fight it, and I know you'll be happy with it,a special I'm sure. Have a 11 Fltrx just got love it stay safe Bro
Being biased, the street glide is just hands down a better looking ride that essentially is the same bike.
My brother has the same bike as you
I feel inlove w his bike
Can a short person ride this bike without issue?
I’m 4’ 11.5
Thank you for sharing
I like both I would probably pick the road glide but there is one thing that’s stopping me from doing that and that is I love the old nostalgic look of the heritage.
2016 Road Glide owner, I Love it!!!. Had to get the bigger windshield
FYI, you're at the dealership I bought my road glide from. Good peeps
The RG fairing turns with the bike, not the bars. Plenty of light.
Happy you did this comparison
Thank you, Tall. God bless.
Great video. Just bought a road glide, and I’m loving every second of riding it
I'm comming from a zx14. I've been on the fence for about 2 months now. This is a great video but I I still can't decide. Rode my first harley 2 weeks ago loved it!!
I have a street glide. I wish there was more storage in the fairing. The road glide reminds me of a goldwing with the fairing not being attached
Ride safe!
Also the road lie comes with a 10" bars. But I did install 12" KST's on mine
Went from a SG to a RG and am so glad I did.
Traded my 11 SG for the 21 RG special, less buffeting and more "clean" wind i think but i love them both.
Pretty easy process. Look down. If you're wearing a skirt, you buy the Street Glide. If not, buy the RG.
I did not know the differences but seeing the street glide has the fairing mounted to The Handlebar I'm going with the street glide.
Love my road glide..I’m 6’4 and wife rides with me.It’s the biggest of the baggers and fits our needs the best…plus the glides look mean.
Get u that Road Glide then Tall as ur 3rd Bike… 😎😎. I’m a SG myself, but I’ll love to have the RG as a 2nd…. 👍🏾👍🏾
I ride a streetglide. I do like the roadglide also. Only certain colors though.
You chose well. 👍
Good info...I have a 2014 Street Glide and thinking of getting a 2022 Road Glide so what do you think? Thanks!
I have to lean quite a bit more on my road glide to compensate for the wind…
I will say, the air pocket my road glide cuts for me though is much more comfortable…
I just bought my first Harley...it's the Street Glide for me
Weight distribution is very different between the two where the fairing in concerned in my experience.
I was wondering about that. Thanks for commenting.
👍🏾 Very nice, Tall! 🦇 Wing guy here and I always will be. Never really like the look of the fairing in the RG. Plus as you mentioned, everything sits too far back. I’mma stick with the SG. Keep Glidin’ and have a blessed day.
Yo!
L.D.
Thanks LD keep Gliding and have a blessed day!
