The allscapes are great! I put 6,500 mi on the rear before I ran over a shard of metal that destroyed the whole tire. Otherwise it would have kept going. And yes it does slow you down a bit but that's a good trade-off for durability and performance
6500 miles, wow! That definitely makes me feel better about how well these tires will hold up over time. I completely agree with you about the good trade-off with speed. The performance and enhanced confidence at higher speeds is fantastic.
@@EnergizedZonie Thinking I should also go with liners. We are in the Coastal Bend of Texas and there are a lot of mesquite thorns. My Kenda have 750+ miles and it is time. I am almost always on caliche or trails, almost never on concrete or tarmac. Where did you find them at that price? I'm showing $134.99 on the "Big River".
The liners may work even better than the Flat Out. I haven’t tried the liners yet. I got the tires on sale at Amazon for $110 for 2 tires and 2 tubes. The current price on Amazon is $140.
I put the HEB tires on my son’s e-bike and hate to say it but it didn’t result in fewer punctures from his stock tires. I even pulled a piece of wood, looks like maybe a piece of mulch that went all the way through.
Like that Insta 360 camera , what I already got with some bike clamps and accessories for a videography with my upcoming Cruiser. You need to specify in the title what brand of Ebike like Wired cruiser also add it to the tags to get more views when people search for updates . Edit the video and go to tags and add name , Ebike, flat-out , tires, bike ......... that kind of stuff to enhance the algorithm . Thank you for posting .
I appreciate the suggestions. I did add some tags that included various Wired references and e-bike references. I do need to add flat-out tags though. I’m learning new tips and tricks everyday on the Insta360 X4. Great camera!
Just received the same Allscape tires with silver lettering for my Wired Crusier+ as well. Bought them for the same reason, better grip upgraded tires for higher speeds with smoother quieter ride.
@@EnergizedZoniethanks for sharing your video. Based on your video I purchased a pair of silver logo. I'm stepping up from a pre covid juiced bikes Rip current S. During covid I rode 3500 miles mainly out of boredom. I had several flats. One was even a little dangerous but luckily I didn't dump it. I ended up installing Tannus liners, motorcycle tubes which I'm told are about five times thicker and also installed tire slime. At 750w the RipCurrent S immediately lost performance with all the additional tire weight. I have not yet received my Wired Cruiser, but it seems they have corrected 90% of the shortcomings I found in my rip current. Thanks for the heads up on the thicker tires. I don't normally use a phone mount, but can you give me a heads up on your water bottle mount. Thank you in advance. 👍
All you have to do is install, thick ,puncture resistant tubes. along with slime in those tubes, AND INSTAL TANUS ARMOUR TIRE LINERS . 😮😮😮 No more flat tires. EVER. A UNLESS you come across anything that is 1 inch or better,,(worse) then, you have a problem. L9ve all your traveling. Be safe my friends. 😊😊
I hope you'll update us in the future about tire life. I guess you won't have regular tires to compare to your new ones since they weren't left on until they needed replacement.
I’m looking forward to finding out how long they will last and how well they hold up. I have a good feeling they will hold up well. Certainly a better constructed tire.
I am really glad you asked about the mic setup. The wind noise was driving me crazy! No one wants to watch content with that annoying noise. I'm about to "geek out", but bare with me. I use a DJI Mic 2 system paired with an Insta360 X4 Action Camera. I was initially using the wireless Mic in Bluetooth mode only with the included wind muff/dead cat to help reduce the wind noise, but this was still not affective at the higher speeds this bike can achieve. I reduced the gain on the Mic to -6db. This helped, but still wasn't good enough. The solution was to mount the included DJI transmitter on the side of the Insta360 X4 camara using a separate mounting bracket and Mic cable adapter unit Insta360 sells separately. This allowed me to use the wind noise reduction function in the transmitter and keeping the gain at -6db for the Mic. If I haven't put you to sleep by now and you are interested how it works and what it looks like, there are some pretty good videos out there on (you guessed it) TH-cam. All that research paid-off though. I'm finally happy with the sound quality at higher speeds.
@@EnergizedZonie I like geeky stuff! I think I understood you. You connected the dji transmitter via a cable/adapter to the X4 and the dji wireless mic to you. This allowed you to use the noise reduction that you can’t if using Bluetooth connection. Did I get it right?
Any information on loss of top speed and that of range loss? I would have assumed that giving up some knobby trails tire for better street handling would also improve speeds and range if mostly street riding is your goal here. Many of us have legal bikes, and reduced class 3 speeds from say 28 to 25 means some streets are not rideable with such reductions in top speeds, and MANY of these tire choices reduce top speeds. Kindly wish you had addressed speeds and energy consumption issues. Not everyone willing to break the law and ride bikes able to go faster than 28. And as noted a lot of these tires reduce top speeds. Loss of 3mph is HUGE when top speed is only 20mph or class 3 of 28mph. Any information on these elephant in the room issues for most ebike riders is appreciated.
Thanks for the comment Albert! Changing the Kenda Kruesade knobby tire out to the HEB Allscape all terrain tire did reduce the top speed by approximately 1 1/2 MPH. Range seems to be similar. I like the all terrain tires much better for the surfaces I ride on. I am planning on doing a 2nd Range Test ride very soon using the same route keeping speeds below 28 MPH. I am sure I will get better than the initial 48 miles on the initial Range Test video. My goal is to reach at least 70 miles.
@EnergizedZonie Thanks kindly. Been doing some reading, since my 20x4 tires are showing quite a bit of wear. I like the idea of more durable tires, but the issue is what is called "rotational inertia". Adding 6 lbs of weight to the bike not a big deal. However Adding say 3 lbs to each tire is a significantly different issue, since it's rotational mass, and that in theroy shouldn't effect top speed, but can significantly effect acceleration and battery consumption. But if in addition top speed is reduced? You in effect now say have a 13ah battery that performs like a 10ah battery or even worse! In other words thicker and more durable tires may well not be a good choice for a lot of riders, especially those with marginal performance. I mean great if you already have a 25ah battery, and 35 mph top speed. So, some great tires means you now have a 31mph top speed and a equivalent 20ah battery. But then again, why pay for extra battery and top speed performance, only then to throw all that out the window for better tires? There's a reason the factory tires are thin and light! (because they produce high top ends and are easy on the battery consumption, and acceleration is better).
Thanks for the question. Yes, I placed the mic inside my shirt in the top middle part of the chest with a wind buffer (dead cat) connected to help further reduce the wind noise at high speeds.
Hey, have you tried that wobble test with your new tires? I also own a lime green cruiser and I’m wondering if you’re new tires would help prevent the inducing of a wobble
Sorry for the delayed response. I haven’t done an official retest with the Allscapes, but I did notice the more weight I add to the rear rack, the more unstable the bike becomes. Thanks for the comment.
This might sound weird but I live in Denver and I just got back from Discount Tire to have a nail removed from the tire in my automobile.. I would want a tire that can handle getting nails and screws in them without getting flat..
I could definitely recommend Flat-Out for your tires. The viscous fluid. in Flat-Out helps seal punctures before the tire goes flat. Although I have not tried them, I’ve heard good things about Tannus Armour liners for tires helping to prevent flats.
Ive used liners for over 25 years from my mountain bikes to now my ebikes and never had a flat. I don't like the tire slimes you put in them because if it does get all through your rim and tire from a major puncture or a sealed puncture ends up failing then you'll have a huge mess. Sealants are more for tubeless tires.
So I fari have ordered one. I want a white 1. I want the freedom cruiser dual batteries everything you just showed here and also I want those tires is that what I get????😊 oops I continued to watch. Atv allscapes. ??
put these allscape tires on my wired freedom 2024+ and are enjoying them so far, but I boosted the pressure to 25 PSI front and rear to see if I could get a long range ride, and the rear tire is rubbing on the rear fender for the bike, there is nearly 0 clearance and a bunch of paint is scraped off the fender on the inside, where the tire has been rubbing, don’t know if you’ve had this issue there’s no way to adjust the fender to get more clearance, without just removing the whole fender from the rear rack. How much clearance do you have with the cruiser model on the rear tire?
Fortunately, I have not had a back tire rub on the fender (yet). I have just enough clearance between the back tire and the fender on the Cruiser. If you loosen the rear rack bolts right above the motor on both sides of the frame, there is a little bit of play that will allow you to pull up on the rear rack with one hand while you tighten bolts back down with the other. This should help with the clearance.
