Thank you for this useful video! I am calculating the impact of one independent variable on a dependent variable, controlling for one another variable. In this case, can I use the method you used in this video?
Hi, thank you a lot for this video. I'm conducting a regression analysis as well and it seems like the gender is having a moderator role and because of that I'll have to conduct a hierarchical regression with the gender as a control variable. But the problem I'm facing is that SPSS (i have both versions 25 and 28) won't let me put a string variable in the independent variable list. In this video I see that you've used a string variable in the list and I wanted to ask how can I do the same and do you maybe know why doesn't SPSS allow me that, is it some setting for example? And is it possible that I can change it/enable string variables as predictors? Thank you in advance
Thanks a lot! please can we use this hierarchical regression model with categorical dependent, independent and control variables? or is it possible to it with generalized linear model method for regression?
Hi. You can watch this video th-cam.com/video/7MGZetZyAjM/w-d-xo.html , the video is in HLM7 context, but concept of Homogeneity of Variance is same in Student's t or ANOVA. Best.
I have 3 Independent variables and 2 control variables. In excel, should I select all 5 variables (indep and control variables) as IV to run multiple regression?
Thank you sir ! lecture bestowed by you fairly enable me to deal with control variables in regression. Great learning.
👍
Thank you -- this was exactly what I needed for my study.

Thank you so much! Really helpful.

Yes. This the way you will do it. Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much. I have benefited!!!!

great video. Can you share the table so I can copy and paste it into my word document? Thank you
Thanks. You have to draw the table following the directions given in lecture.
Greetings sir
For categorical control variables having more than 2 categories dummy need to be created ?
Nope. Dummies are only used in Dummy Regression.
@@ChMahmoodAnwarok then how to take categorical control variable in multiple linear regression
@@anugrewal9790 Enter control variables in step 1 of HLR.

Hello, enter gender as Numeric.
Hello Sir. I have a question. What if we have two dependent and independent variables?
In this case, use CB-SEM instead of HL Regression.
Thanks a lot! please can we use this hierarchical regression model with categorical dependent, independent and control variables? or is it possible to it with generalized linear model method for regression?
You should use Ordinal Regression.
Hello. GL models in SPSS work fine for within-subjects design. Otherwise, ordinal Regression is a good choice.
Thanks Sam Doody
Please add textual narration of the results also. Only tabular form does not complete the reporting in APA style.
In my given interpretation, one can extract the meanings of Regression equation results. I will explain this separately in another lecture.
Do you have any video on heterogeneity, or by anyone else. Please do recommend. Thanks

Code all 5 in SPSS or Excel.
