I like that call back to Full Gear with Swerve enjoying the staples because he’s a freaking mad man. Those two tables spot were awesome, especially Darby climbing up like Spider-Man and crashing through the table 🔥🔥

Eddie being a part of this match would have certainly been huge. It's a shame that he got hurt, but it happens. The dude's got to rest and heal up. I said on my pro wrestling podcast that when he comes back, we're going to see an Eddie Kingston that we've not seen before.
This was a hell of a main event to cap off Dynamite. A lot of stuff happened in this match. I love the call back to the Texas Death match between Swerve and Hangman at Full Gear when Swerve brought the stapler gun in. I laughed so hard when he stapled Okada’s middle finger. And also Darby Allin scaling the cage like Spider-Man and hitting a coffin drop to Jack Perry through the table was insane. This is why you gotta love Blood and Guts. 🔥🔥🔥
This match was choreographed so well. I am so impressed by the acclaim. I never imagined them ever in a match like this. I love how strong they are keeping the champ Swerve. No big egos in this group. The slow build and extreme heat between Swerve and Hangman will last a long time. It's one of those rivalries they could continue anywhere in any promotion. Like a Flair vs Rhodes back in the day.
It's probably the loudest chair shot I've heard in a while. Visibly cringed at that thud, and also thought Marc just killed a man with how Jack went limp afterwards

My respect for Jack Perry’s gone through the roof after taking them kendo stick shot to the ribs and that chairshot to the head, that’s real love for the game

@@stevonwhite8933 It was a real chair. He took the shot on the seat part which allowed the chair to absorb most of the impact. No folding chair is made out of steel. That would just be too heavy for practical applications. They are usually made out of aluminium. It's also why you will see wrestlers use baking sheets in hardcore matches, same principle. Thin deformable metal sheet = the metal object absorbing most of the impact instead of the person it is hitting. Those metal folding chairs have very thin metal seats. If you watch it in slow motion you can see the seat deform and absorb nearly all the impact. It's why cars look so bad after wreaks, they are designed to do that to absorb impact. The real way to hit someone with on object like that and make it hurt is follow through. If you ever notice when wrestlers hit their opponents with chairs they stop right when they make contact. This allows the impact to be absorbed by the deformation and no additional force to be applied. Don't follow through and you get the sound and visual effects without most of the damage.
The ELITE probably put a lot of this together I'd imagine. They're insanely good at this typa stuff and the in-ring storytelling that goes with it....... course, there seems to be a billion "wrestling fans" who'd cluelessly parrot the opposite., but hey.
Best part of the match was watching Jackass Perry get absolutely destroyed and almost burned again. Double or nothing’s spot with the flamethrower was top tier🤌

This match made Swerve look like the badass monster he was during the Hangman feud. Also, it really put over Jack Perry. Took a big beating and refused to quit.
I mean, what did you expect? Absolute madness. Innovative violence. Blood. Guts. Tacks. Staples. Gasoline. All of it. The finish was a litttttleeeeeee flat considering all of what we saw leading up to it, but it made sense in the story. Kudos to everyone involved as this can not be an easy night for anyone.

That chair shot that Briscoe gave to Jack reminded me of the ECW days where Raven was handcuffed to the cage when Tommy Dreamer pretty much wrapped the chair around his head.
Yup. I've seen them all and it was definitely my favourite. To me, it helped that the ELITE were in it and that they were heels. They can put top quality matches like this together in their sleep, and then there's other ppl's input also. Amazing match.
Yeah that was fucked for sure, wasn't expecting an unprotected chair shot to the head in 2024 but I'm here for it as long as it's not reckless. I think Mark's taken and done enough of them in his career to know what he was doing though, so I'm sure Jack came out fine from it

No it wasn't it was a good match but definitely the weakest blood and guts match that they've had
2022 blood and guts was still the best
The ending was about as far from perfect as you can get to be honest. The match itself however, held up fairly well.

That chair shot that Briscoe gave to Jack reminded me of the ECW days where Raven was handcuffed to the cage when Tommy Dreamer pretty much wrapped the chair around his head.

Yup. I've seen them all and it was definitely my favourite. To me, it helped that the ELITE were in it and that they were heels. They can put top quality matches like this together in their sleep, and then there's other ppl's input also. Amazing match.
Was at Nashville last night. 100% worth the tickets. Keep AEW growing.
