I love the amount of negative space! You're laser focused restraint and controlled detail is amazing as is your VISION. Another masterpiece, Amanda! 👏👏👏
Thank you! I am actually working on this style with even more negative space a softer colors but it is a lot of trial and error to get the look I am going for!
Hi Amanda, this is beautiful. I wonder if you've found a solution to 'fix' the artwork to make it archival so the dyes in the alcohol ink don't fade over time. I've used spray varnish with UV protection but if you use matt then it turns the Mehron gold matt too, if you use gloss it makes the whole thing glossy which is just as bad. Would love to get some tips from the pro.
From what I've seen other people do, they just use the UV resistant sprays. You could always try a liquid varnish instead but I assume the matte or glossy would keep doing the same thing. I like to finish some pieces with resin which makes the gold pop.
Beautiful video. Thank you so much. I have a question, could you varnish this piece with liquitex high gloss acrylic varnish? I ask this because it has rubbing alcohol.

Beautiful...
Thanks a lot 😊
Absolutely stunning. I wish you could explain your process, would love to learn how to do this
Thank you, I will!
Beautiful! Is there a reason you use alcohol as your extender instead of water?
Thank you! Since it evaporates quickly it stops moving faster than water.
hey Amanda! This is GORGEOUS! Quick question... can you resin ON TOP of acrylic inks? Does it need to be sealed somehow first?
I think you could just use resin right on top but I use a clear spray varnish first just to get a nice seal on it.
This reminds me of the expensive hand marbled art papers. Ive been trying to figure outbhowvto make them. Very cool. New subscriber.
Thanks for subbing!
Wow can this be done on regular paper?
I don't think it would work since the liquid would just sink right into the paper.
Beautiful video. Thank you so much. I have a question, could you varnish this piece with liquitex high gloss acrylic varnish? I ask this because it has rubbing alcohol.
I would use a spray varnish, not a liquid.
This is really pretty. I would like to start painting with alcohol ink. Was the gold alcohol ink too? I miss hearing you talk in your videos.
This was acrylic inks and I used gold mehron makeup pigment for the gold, linked in the video description.
Hi, could I just ask please, I see you are wearing gloves but would you suggest a mask when pouring the alcohol please? ... thank you
I wear one like this: amzn.to/3L1oGFv
Gorgeous painting lovely colors but could you tell me why you are working on paper and also gold is miwed with alcool ? Thank you for answering me 👏
I worked on paper because of how it reacts with the paint and alcohol instead of working on canvas. Yes, the gold it also mixed with alcohol.
Is the substrate Yupo paper? Brustol? Watercolor paper? Thanks.
Thank you! This is Yupo
Wow! This is stunning. Is the gold alcohol ink or acrylic paint? Does the alcohol act as an extender?
The gold is a mica pigment and yes, I use the rubbing alcohol as the extender for this.
Acrylic Ink or Alkohol Ink? 🤔
This is acrylic ink.
It’s alcohol ink not acrylic
No actually it isn't. I am using acrylic inks and rubbing alcohol. I wasn't getting the results I wanted with alcohol inks so I tried acrylics.
Hello. Is it hot or cold air...????... I mean your hair dryer...
I do not have a hot or cold setting on this, just a high and low. This is low setting.
