She's not as forward, but she likes him a lot. As the episodes progress she starts to fell more confident, and we, as an audience, can clearly see her becoming more comfortable. We are only halfway through, she will become bolder 😊
If you felt that way, that means they portrayed the characters really well according to the novel. It's said in the novel that the guy usually has intense gaze (it's been mentioned multiple times in the novel and Wu Lei totally nailed this character) and makes the girl uncomfortable but also causes the girl to be deep in love with him. These 2 feelings are not contradicting each other.

His only issue is he’s poor. But he’s talented, works hard and educated, in the story he’s almost done with his masters and now applying for his phd. His good looking, gentle and sweet with her. He lost his parents when he was young and basically raised himself in a foreign country, in real life that’s an achievement. He’s also loved by everyone around him so you know he’s a good person. In the story, he also coaches and help them train for free. He does not even charge them using the billiard place that he owns and that is why he’s loosing money and even uses his personal money to pay for the rent so they will have a place to practice. He might had an attitude when he was very young but that was years ago. I don’t know what liability you’re saying? What episode are you? I think you’re judging his character too soon.

What are his "too many issues"? He's a good, kind person through and through, is thoughtful, self-efficient, hard-working, and even takes care of others. His issues only really revolve around going down memory lane with his past and having previously given up on a dream related to playing snooker/billiard. I don't see how those things are exactly liabilities in terms of being a good life partner. Dude is a total green flag. He's also not a regular drunk or anything. He only got drunk in this particular scene because he met up with people from his past.
