Great video. What are your thoughts on the Hobbywing AXE 2800 combo. This is the same motor and ESC that I bought for my Phoenix that I’m in the process of building and hoping it will be great in the rig. Thank you.
With the Hobbywing Axe the low end is easily controllable at any of the KVs. I guess the question is whether or not you need 2800kv. I felt like 2300kv was enough for me, but I rarely find myself hitting full throttle as I'm not that kind of driver.
@@RevolutionX Will be pretty much all low speed stuff, no racing or bashing, more just crawling. Bought that to ensure I had whatever power I might need and not be wishing I had gone bigger from the start.
@@jeffreypursley1914 you should be fine. With the hobbywing FOC it's not as much of an issue as it is with non FOC motors where you need to play with gearing to make sure it's not too fast. You still have the option for a smaller pinion though.
Did you manage to remove the clicking noise at low speed? I just built mine and it makes the same sound under load at low speed. I watched a lot of Phoenix running videos and about 95% makes that clicking sound. Is it design flaw, do you think?
I haven't tried removing the clicking honestly. It doesn't bother me too much. If I remember correctly it had something to do with some shimming needed at the gear at the top of the transmission. As far as design flaw... maybe, but it doesn't affect performance. Just more of an annoyance.
@@RevolutionX Thanks for the reply. During the weekend, I shimmed the top gear, as Exocage did, and the clicking is gone! I just added one to each end.
Great looking Phoenix's! That place looks like a lot of fun to wheel!
Thanks! Yeah it's a good spot for scale trailing! ✌️
What a great looking rig. Nice climb brother. :)
Thanks 👍

Hello. Cool video and cool cars! Please tell me where can I buy a pilot like yours. Thank you.
Tamiya 4x4 driver! I think I have a link in the description. If I don't I'll add it later.
Great rig and great video! Where's the location pls?
Thanks! It's just a local hiking trail in Orange County.

Where did you get the driver?
I am using the Tamiya 4x4 (Bruiser) Driver.
