Thank you for the tip on removing the pit from an avocado. I always used to knock it in my hand, but I enjoy having fingers and your visual pretty much put the fear of God into me, so from now on, I'm a reformed man. On the counter it goes. Around here, that's a San Diego style burrito. Those guys are nutty down there with their crazy French fries in the burritos and that zaniness, but they're also not wrong.
Yup, sounded good too. Thanks for sharing with us Neal and Amy, another fine recipe and perfectly grilled and seasoned just right. Keep up the great videos and the fun you have around there. Fred.
When I first heard of a CA burrito, I too thought it was weird. Then I watched a Cooking Con Claudia video where she made it and it finally clicked on why it works. Nice work guys!
Reminds me of the Pittsburgh style Primanti Brothers burger. Hey, that's an idea for a future video. I had one while in Pittsburgh, and it was outstanding.
@@jessicahahn7192 I truly appreciate that… many many times I have made exact replicas of recipes only to get absolutely roasted from people saying that’s horrible etc. so thank you
I just saw your "short" on cheesesteak steak fries. Might I suggest Carne Asada Fries? Everything you put in the burrito, plus cheese. Cheddar and Cotija for me. I like Mexican Crema better than Sour Cream. It spreads more even than sour cream. Just my .02c Keep up the good work!!!
@@TheFlatTopKing I wish I could take credit for that dish, but it is made in California and Arizona taco shops like Filibertos and many more. I do like a good cheesesteak, but Carne Asada Fries for me please.
If you wanted to be really conservative I think take a chuck roast, that are on sale here all the time for 3.97, and send it through the grinder with a 1/2" die might even work. Looks great.
Don’t be telling people about that flap meat, we don’t need it going up in price like skirt steak did haha! That is our favorite cut of steak to use for fajitas
@TheFlatTopKing Question about the fries. When you dropped them were they still frozen or did you thaw them first? And about how long did they take to cook up in that shallow fry? I would have like to have seen some Oaxaca or Cotija cheese on there, but otherwise, a great looking burrito. Bravo Zulu!
I bought the same thing at my Costco here in East Los Angeles two days ago, which was $11.99 per pound. Thank God "47" is going to try to change that! By the way, have you tried using Marco Pierre White's method of using "Knoor Beef Bullion" and olive oil to marinate your steaks? I suggest you do if you still need to! I grew up eating carne asada every weekend, and I know what excellent carne asada is... it was precisely that. But I am going to try yours too.
Where did you get this recipe? Grilled chopped up meat? Grill whole and then chop so you get juicy bites. Dude you claim to have worked in a steak house?
Somewhere Bradley Robinson is smiling watching that chop sequence
Chop-o-matic!
Haha, I was thinking the same thing! Chud!!
@@The_Original_Big_Daddy There's a pesky snake in my boot!
Duck fat is very traditional for fries and any natural fat is healthy what’s not healthy is the seed oils like canola and the recipe sounds delicious
Yum yum send me some!! Nicely done mate! I never heard of flap meat but going to try this recipe!

Oh I am trying this one soon!
That looks amazing !. Definitely will try !. Thanks so very much for the time spent and to share !. Best regards sir !.

Claudia dresses nicer than Neal for her videos! LOL!! 🤣🤣
They look delicious 🤤
Looks delicious… can’t wait to try it. Thanks guys…great channel.
Appreciate ya
Nice!! Definitely doing this one this weekend!! 🤠
Looks delicious 🔥
You looking to recruit @BlackstoneGriddles?
As a Californian I'll say you did a good job with it.
@@Ahglock well I truly appreciate that
That looks like a winner guys! Well done - Cheers!
I had a California burrito literally last weekend for the first time in at least a decade. Damn it was good!
except for the guac....delicious! Thanks for another great one
That looks amazing!!! Almost as amazing as your Ninja veggie chopping!! 😄😄
That cut in AZ if called Arrachera very popular for Carne Asada
Another cut used often for Carne Asada is thin Chuck Steaks called Desmillo...
TY...did not know that...
Diezmillo is what we use in California. Central valley at least. Awesome looking food. And happy belated Veterans Day.
When I watch you cook, you are so obviously a Navy trained cook it floods my mind with memories of good stuff to eat!
That’s the only way I want to watch veggies getting chopped. Chuds BBQ would approve. I appreciate everything y’all do. This looks delicious.
@@brentjohnson2315 he’s the best….
Here in Arizona, on the border with Mexico we call flap meat, arrechera, and it's the preferred cut for carne asadas. Keep cooking. Peace...
Picture perfect cross section. I like how you prepared the carne asada in small bite sized pieces. Looks excellent👍😊
Everytime i see fries on a sandwich or in a burrito I think of Primanti Bro's. Looks really good and goinb to have to try that cut of steak.
Primanti Bros is an absolute classic! I have not tried em myself..but heard many good stories
Mmmmmmmm, For a TN Navy boy that looked like a delicious Calif/Mex burrito for sure. Take care and stay safe in East TN.
Amy upping game on filming
Great job, I like your videos

Looks like that Spanglish Asadero seasoning with the Dia de los Muertos lady on it ?? They have some great flavors
I need to make fries in tallow…..gotta be good. I remove avocado seeds with a teaspoon…..no risk of a knife cut.
The patented pinchers of Power 🤏🤏🤏, 💜 it. Straight 🔥🔥🔥 cook y’all, cheers 👊🏼😎🤙🏼

being from San Diego, the CA burrito is my absolute favorite thing from the tacos shops. You did it justice with this recipe, CA approved

@@TheFlatTopKing haters gonna hate! I appreciate the videos. I just got my griddle not too long ago and have been learning a lot watching your videos.
I’m so hungry NOW 😋🤦🏻♂️
Some places here in the Southwest(AZ, San Diego, Las Vegas) wrapped the burrito in bacon then grill it.
wow....sounds great
If mashing up the avocado, I will take the half with the "nut" and squeeze it till the "nut" falls out.
Definitely a griddle master, up to the green stuff, but we will make it without it. Not a fam favorite. Good one. like the combinations of the recipe.
Like the burrito you made , but my suggestion use hash browns (frozen) on grill and then scramble eggs same steak and toppings
A great video
Looks great!! Weird question...What kind of glasses are those you have? I like them..🤓🤓😂😂
Awesome job Neal 👏 2 to go brother! 😂Cheers 🍻
In AZ they add enchilada sauce in there and call it the "El Rey"
Interesting...that sounds fantastic...
I was worried when you cut with the grain at first. But then ❤
ahhaahha

Boss, I'd eat that if you served it on an old tennis shoe. 😋
Missing orange juice and beer for the meat marinade and tenderize the ranchera cut steak
@abrahamsantiago1345 I believe that the lemon and lime juices will work in that marinade to break down the meat and tenderize it.
I am curious how many times you have told the avocado story!😮. A great video though!!!
Hahaa..too many times....but it if can save someone loosing multiple tips of their fingers....every time...1 mistake and cost that kid forever...

That looks amazing, but for the life of me I will never understand why people put french fries on burritos.
Missing cheese and sour cream .
What, no cheese?
