    Theres this dude called San the violin dude and he has a pretty solid understanding in Roman Kim's technique. (At least better than most people) He also played Roman Kim's Beethoven 5th symphony on solo violin. You can check him out.

    Just missed it live. Dang. Anywho, if you believe the rumors about Paganini, the violinist likely needs help from a lower power rather than a higher power.

    I think a better idea is play the Paganini Caprices FIRST properly before attempting this God Save The King piece. Because it is more difficult and uses all the techniques of the caprices in one virtuosic piece.
    I think you did a much better job than I could do, and most people watching if they play the violin. But I will say that I wouldn’t attempt to film myself doing it let alone share it on TH-cam lol!
    You are “brave” 😅
    Best comment = “sacrifice your teeth” !!! 😂
    (I am not sure you played even ONE NOTE correctly lol! Or is that too harsh lol! Enjoyed your video anyway and RESPECT to you for sharing this lol! We loved it!)
    Towards the middle I found myself rolling around laughing but not for the name reason as in the Ning Feng video. I have met him in real life…he is a God on the violin!
    Towards the end I found myself holding my head saying “please make it stop!” 😮😮😮

    • @ViolinMechanic
      @ViolinMechanic  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching! As I mentioned in the stream, each variation calls to a different caprice. This piece is the final boss of Violin Repertoire

  • @liamnevilleviolist1809

    25:33 "Have you guys seen performers do it with pizz?" - YES! Just like you said earlier about Ning Feng - some notes are arco in between the left hand pizz, so the G A and B ascending are arco and then descending it's left-hand pizz with the occasional bow touch.

    • @liamnevilleviolist1809
      @liamnevilleviolist1809 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      (G A and B ascending [sometimes ricochet before performing left-hand pizz] : I'm talking about the last bar of playing in page 5).

    Popping blisters reminds me of my high school gymnastics days. They'd tear while we were on the bars and as our coach was a mad Austrian, we'd have to continue through the pain. I can imagine the horror of LH-pizz with a busted blister.

    i played this piece before and my first step after playing this piece is trying to get the skin on my fingers to get thicker. You will not be able to play the pizzs accurately and in tempo if you do not have the thicken skins due to the immense pain and your delicate skin will not be able to exert enough plucking force onto the string for it to sound. Just focus on the first variation at the first week of practising this piece, it will give you the thickening effect you want. also, the second variation is easier in comparison and require minimal practice if you play scale every day. you would want to practice shifting on the third variation since i remember there are 11 ths there with tremolos. for the fourth one, the pizz one, just get those thickened skin before you try pizzing, before that, just practice it by playing all the notes without pizzing, trying to get all the notes correct. for the fifth variation, i recomend practicing each shift between those double harmonics and double notes, so you can maximise accuracy. finally as for the last one, playing all those splitted chords into one chord will help your hand to adapt to those ridculous positions and help you find the chord as fast as possible to get rid of any mistakes.
    yep, for any people who want to attempt god save the king, best wishes, and let god save you first.
