I’ve gone my whole life never really wearing fragrances, y’know, besides deodorants, but decided to pick out something special for my brother’s wedding a couple of weeks ago. I went into a perfume store not knowing what I liked and was recommended all of the most popular ones which I turned my nose up at, until they sprayed Black Orchid. I immediately fell in love with it and bought a bottle on the spot. I can’t remember smelling anything quite like it. I’ve since gone on to buy more perfumes, and am already planning on buying more. It’s really opened my eyes to a whole world that I paid no attention to previously

Most people don't know squat about fragrance, so I'm not surprised.
I have 500 perfumes and my favorite changes every day. However if I had a gun to my head I would choose Chypre Extraordinaire by Roja. Its a definite love love love.
Wow, I'vr never tried this one or had it recommended-- certainly not in a context as impressive as your comment. I will try and seek it out now as I love a really serious recommendation. There's nothing better than enthusiasm. Thanks!

I get weary of the same designer perfumes on every favorites list. I GET it, because they are marketed to be popular to the masses,, and obviously it works. I wish though, that someone would do a top ten niche perfume poll. That would be so interesting to me. Most of my top ten fragrances are in the niche category. To me, they are so much more interesting than designer perfumes. I do appreciate the time and dedication you put into this project! It’s still fun, but it is always the same frags in different order.

@@ouch110 Oh I totally get that, and I am not criticizing. I wonder if you said, only niche fragrances for a new version of a poll? I did notice that Portrait of a Lady is considered niche. I was reading up on the designers and how it came to be. Pretty interesting ! My top favorite fragrance is Initio’s Psychedelic Love❤ Have a beautiful day!❤
Very interesting!! this has a couple of my faves, but not many .... since it's "your" audience, was surprised to see la vie est belle at all, and was expecting Chanel, Guerlain and Dior but a bit sad not to see Serge at all.
The biggest shock for me was...why your channel doesn't have three times as many subscribers. Fantastic channel. You're a natural. 🏆

That's me too I found hypnotic poison in 2006 in superdrug I was 16 fell in love from first sniff signature perfume still is my signature perfume and I am 35 years old now lol

I started my perfume journey during the first covid lock down. Along the way I discovered your channel and have been an avid fan since. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into this video. It was fun to see how many of my favourites made it into your top ten.
NO 19, Opium, Shalimar, Dune, Poison, Samsara, just shows how some of the oldies are still considered the best.... I thank you for introducing me to some new classics, some which I note did not made the list. And a few like red cap and Portrait of Lady and especially red cap.... that did... I will now take the plunge and buy a bottle of Alien......

Oh my gosh, how wonderful. I have been off of Facebook for a couple years but I remember this question. How amazing that you collected + shared these results. I think it speaks to the diversity but also the knowledge + experience of your group (my thinking: many more “older” perfumes or “greats” than some of the other fly-by-night lists I see). While there are some popular perfumes on this list that I’m sick to death of (LVEB, BR540, Coco Mad), I’m super excited scents like the Tauer, Dune, the Guerlains, “red cap,” the Diors made it. My fave perfume-Caron’s Eau de Reglisse-and house-Solstice Scents-are never on lists but hey. Thanks again for this gem video/sharing (and I love your shirt!)!
Absolutely brilliant idea! My ultimate favourite, was not on the list, but I’m not surprised by that, it’s Ormonde Woman. However, there were many favourites that I own or have owned in the list.

OMG has it already been 3 years 😮😂 I voted for MFK BR540 EDP. Back then, I was the only one in my neighbourhood who wore it. It was love at first sniff. Now, sadly, I smell it often and also dupes. One of my friends recently bought a travelspray and to my annoyance she wears it every time we hang out together. She stole my signature scent. Alien by Mugler also used to be my signature scent, until again, you started to smell it everywhere. Overall there's a few in the top 10 I own and love. P.S.: Is that a bottle of Orto Parisi I spot there in your cabinet? 🧐😂 I love that house! I own Bergamask, Seminalis and Megamere. And still want to buy Stercus for sure and maybe more.

I have 90+ perfumes but my favourite has to be Mugler Alien Goddess. I keep going back to it time and again. It is supposed to be a summer perfume but I wear it all year because I love the notes so much. Loved this video.❤

My Alien💕 to this day it is still my most complemented perfume.. I lovvvve black orchid.. angel is right up there for me and I do like the EDT as well.

I love love this list / poll!! So many surprises, mainly that as you said, I expected to be much higher and was hoping for more niche.
Except for #2, #3 & #5, I currently own and love only one each per number (coincidentally). I have smelled or briefly owned some of the rest. I think the #1 is perfect (IMO), a masterpiece and likely would have been my ultimate one as well. That or Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin. It’s genuinely so hard to choose! Appreciate what you have done to get to this list. 😊
Prolixe by Histoires de Parfums is my favorite as well as Jubilation 40 Man by Amouage. It was great to see you Thomas. We hope you are doing well.

I'm so glad we finally have the results! This would definitely make a great "must own" list for the fragrance collector. It reinforces my reasons for thinking Dior is the best designer for fragrance. BTW, I love your sweater! Are you considering posting the entire list of scents people voted for?

Now Regarding the ranking.. YSL’s ‘Opium’ smells way too vintage to me, not a big fan of Shalimar or Coco Mademoiselle either then LVEB and Alien are must haves in my opinion.
Baccarat Rouge 540 is just exquisite. Looking forward to testing both Angel and Dior Addict again because I forgot how they smell like despite Mugler’s having rough reviews. Never tried Hypnotic Poison and I know I should asap because apparently everyone LOVES it. Is Tom Ford’s Black Orchid as unisex as they say?

I hated channel no 5 when I was younger but now I am the channel no 5 age I really like it..
Sometimes cant beat the oldies and the cheaper ones.
My favourite perfume is Elizabeth Arden 5th avenue for daytime and Elizabeth Taylor Rubies and Diamonds for night, not surprising as Im older and these are affordable.
However yesterday I was at the perfume counter and tried a tester of Michael Kors Gorgeous.
I immediately knew I had smelled that before from an older perfume.
Took me a while to decide whether it was Givenchy Amarige or Marks & Spencers Florentyna.
I have both at home and I can tell you now its an exact copy of Marks and Spencer's Florentyna.
I had Michael Kors on my left hand and Marks & Spencer's Florentyna on my right hand.
Nobody at home in my family (4 of us) could tell them apart.
The Michael Kors fragrance was £53 I didn't check the size it was quite a large bottle though, the Marks and Spencer's fragrance was 100 mil £12.50.
The Florentyna not only lasted longer but smelt stronger.
My favorite is symphony by LV great complement getter.
Loved this video. A whole lot of fun. I own a lot of the winners - and absolutely love Shalimar edp and POL - but my all time favorite - still - and always will be - (and I do think Tom will be happy re: this vote) - vintage Samsara edp. It is for me the perfume version of a long and winding Stairway to Heaven....😊😇
I love Black Orchid! One of my favorites. It's very sexy. I also really love Ombre Leather by Tom Ford.

Deciding on one singular favourite perfume is very hard for me, there is t-rex, eshu, prissana chetyre, but i think my favourite would be leatherize from ds and durga!
My favorite of all time is the one and only SAMSARA. I also love Ange ou Démon ( the original formula).

Chanel No 5 Eau Premiere is a top one for me. I love the original as well, and many others by Chanel that were in this list (Coco and Coromandel in particular), but Eau Premiere is one I’d give a special shoutout to as well. It helped ignite my passion for perfumery, and I still adore it to this day. Bonus shoutout to Chanel Beige which needs more love!
delina exclusif is the only ladies specific scent I like, surprised not on here

Dior Addict is number one for me. Then Miracle Forever which is discontinued but I'm wearing now.😂 it depends on the season though. I know I love it when my stomach flutters and legs go weak.😂😂😂 final 3 are Atieler des or Lune Feline. Prada la femme intense and number 5 is Black Opium intense.

Niche are too pricey for most ppl like me making money in crappy currencies. I consider my Tom Fords niche 😅Got Baccarat Rouge 540 on sale, couldn't resist Guidance (Amouage), but life is tough for we the poor hehe
@@melissanogueira8195 LVEB is weird. It’s horrible to me, yet my guy liked it on me. Go figure. I can’t smell Baccarat Rouge - I’m completely anosmic to it sadly. Amouage is my favorite house, but I buy it on fragrance sites (usually) only when it’s on sale & I don’t purchase frags frequently. My pockets aren’t as deep as some. 😁♥️

Inereting research😀Ok,if i wuld have to chose one on This list,IT would be the original Coco!I mean,when i smell that on a woman,i know that they she knows her perfumes and showes her Claas..It's simply stunning and i could wearr IT as a man...forget thousands of trendy niche perfumes,Coco is head and shoulders above.I'm surpised thaat Madmoiselle is so low,as It is also very popular and very well executed.Interesting list,and longlasting research.
The bulk of the enjoyment I derived from this episode was not due to the specific "winners" or their positions on the final list. As a lover, primarily, of niche fragrances (such as Papillon, January Scent, Bogue, Rogue, Nishane), I am not terribly familiar with the lion's share of the bottles under discussion. But:---- What delight and diplomacy you brought to this exercise !!! If you could bottle that, we'd really have something sparkling to shpritz behind our ears and on our wrists to improve rainy days. although i have L´air du desert marocain in my possesion i can appreciate and agree that Angel EDP and Hypnotic Poison are really something that stands the test of time and is smelled around me from time to time .. i appreciate Angel EDP as one of the few female fragrances .. bold, interesting, not that generic like the others ... .and i expected Musc Ravageur on a first place (which i also have) but Portrait of a lady .. wooow for the people with class!

I dunno if you are new here (probably not), but we tend to be fun loving and bold and our beloved expert "leader" has been asked to leave places in England due to overspraying extremely loud fragrances 😂But since he didn't vote, Light Blue could have made it, personally I'm glad it didn't, despite it being a rather pleasant fragrance, it has no staying power or sillage. I was a tad surprised not to see any Gaultier's or my basic darling D&G The One hehe

Most people i know dont like "huge perfume" . im big on fresh light modern scents, Light Blue every now and then when I dont feel like committing to a perfume with personality. When im in Europe I enjoy denser perfumes. D&G Red Cap smells like insect repellant and Chanel No 5 smells like cat piss when its hot and sunny.
