How about Follows for follows? I feel as if this might have ruined my IG. I did Follow for Follows back in 2015, but I did it differently. I went onto big IG pages that had my interest (examples, Weightlifting, videogames, hiking, sports) and I would follow pages that commented or liked a photo ( the pages were pages that caught my eye, or ones that I was interested in. 90% of the time they would follow me back) So i WAS NOT just spamming the follow button. I stopped using IG around 2017-2018 and came back to it in 2019 and I posted a photo (before I was getting 450+ per like) and now my photos are getting 90-210 at first I thought it was the removal of Chronological order that caused my engagement to drop, but now im thinking it might have been me following a lot of people.
1 dont follow peolple from likes follow them from their followers bc there is so many people that like anything they see even if they dont like that niche

That's different than a loop giveaway and can sometimes be worth the investment. If you do opt for that I would make the prize very niche targeted to attract your ideal followers.

Hey David! Engagement groups aren't really worth the effort anymore to be honest. Instagram is able to tell where the traffic and engagement was funnelled from, reducing the impact that the engagement from the group would have. You are better off putting that time into reaching out to and connecting with people creating similar content to grow your network and following.

What if someone used the Instagram loop trick for a week or two, but then realized his mistake and unfollowed all those 20 followers gained through that loop and unfollowed those influencers as well so will the engagement will be now back to normal or will I have to delete me account and make a new account 🥺?
Ben Leavitt ahh thanks. I just removed 300 people. I am still in the very beginning of my instagram and was almost at 1000. It hurt my ego removing them, but they were from a loop I did that hurt me more than anything. Hopefully I can still grow the page

Have done this and stopped after I made about 500 followers. I did notice a reach drop and engagement, but I mainly was affected because of action blocks which were without an actual mistake. Instagram just decided to punish my new account as my old one. Limits are different than a year ago. :(

It limited my ability to be shown to people beyond my existing audience. I performed poorly in hashtags and didn't make it on to the explore page. With the goal of content creation being to expand your audience, the more new people who can come across you the better.

Say someone huge like a khardashian (that all types of people follow) VS a more niche account equally as large. should i consider this if the loop contest is run by very good performing accounts that are in the same demo as my brand?
Hey! I would say to avoid anything like this in the majority of cases. You may see some benefit if you're a niche page and the giveaway is from an account in the exact same niche. If your content is super similar and not attached to any one individual, your success rate will be more successful. People looking to build personal brands have the worst success with these. Hello, probably nobody will see this because it's a 9 month old video but I gained a lot of followers running ads that led to my profile and now I'm trapped in the same situation as you in the video, what could I do? What if I do a giveaway but instead of exchanging a prize for followers I exchange a prize for presaging my new song release on Spotify? I feel like that would be a better way of building engagement and the people that pre save my song can listen to my other songs and decide if they want to follow me or not
I was thinking of creating an advertisement with my song in it and a cool animation with an explanation on a give away for presaging my song on Spotify, I think this is the best way of going about this
I'm not saying giveaways are entirely bad at all. I am just saying these mass following giveaways can seriously damage your account. If it can funnel traffic to your music, I would say that's different because they are getting genuine exposure to music they may like and want more.

I also ruined my 10k account this way, but because I did one of these giveaways with accounts that had nothing to do with my niche, but if they had been of my niche it would have been great
I don't think the reach of each post and the additional followers gained necessarily are correlated. Frommy experiences the reach depends on the the time of the post, the caption, the post itself and who else is posting at the same time. Or maybe your audience just didn't appreciate that photo as much.
@@BenLeavitt Fair enough. I have done giveaways on my fan page before. This whole idea of a loop giveaway does make me think I shouldn't do them again using paid Ads. Because the logic you explain makes alot of sense. There is no need to dilute your pool of engagement if you are steadily growing already. Hey David! Engagement groups aren't really worth the effort anymore to be honest. Instagram is able to tell where the traffic and engagement was funnelled from, reducing the impact that the engagement from the group would have. You are better off putting that time into reaching out to and connecting with people creating similar content to grow your network and following.

What if someone used the Instagram loop trick for a week or two, but then realized his mistake and unfollowed all those 20 followers gained through that loop and unfollowed those influencers as well so will the engagement will be now back to normal or will I have to delete me account and make a new account 🥺?

Hey Andrea! You can remove them as a follower instead of blocking them. Its super tedious but you avoid getting a block.
Ben Leavitt ahh thanks. I just removed 300 people. I am still in the very beginning of my instagram and was almost at 1000. It hurt my ego removing them, but they were from a loop I did that hurt me more than anything. Hopefully I can still grow the page

10k reach on a 7k follower account?! Woow! Did you promote that post or was that reach 100% organic?
Have done this and stopped after I made about 500 followers. I did notice a reach drop and engagement, but I mainly was affected because of action blocks which were without an actual mistake. Instagram just decided to punish my new account as my old one. Limits are different than a year ago. :(

I don’t know. The more recent post was shown to 8000 less people and still got decent reactions. I’d say that’s a better percentage of people reacting favorably than before. How do you explain that
It limited my ability to be shown to people beyond my existing audience. I performed poorly in hashtags and didn't make it on to the explore page. With the goal of content creation being to expand your audience, the more new people who can come across you the better.
Ben Leavitt I guess the goal would be to get more website clicks and thus more business so yeah whichever results in a greater ratio of that.

Hey! I would say to avoid anything like this in the majority of cases. You may see some benefit if you're a niche page and the giveaway is from an account in the exact same niche. If your content is super similar and not attached to any one individual, your success rate will be more successful. People looking to build personal brands have the worst success with these. What if I do a giveaway but instead of exchanging a prize for followers I exchange a prize for presaging my new song release on Spotify? I feel like that would be a better way of building engagement and the people that pre save my song can listen to my other songs and decide if they want to follow me or not
I was thinking of creating an advertisement with my song in it and a cool animation with an explanation on a give away for presaging my song on Spotify, I think this is the best way of going about this
I'm not saying giveaways are entirely bad at all. I am just saying these mass following giveaways can seriously damage your account. If it can funnel traffic to your music, I would say that's different because they are getting genuine exposure to music they may like and want more.

I don't think the reach of each post and the additional followers gained necessarily are correlated. Frommy experiences the reach depends on the the time of the post, the caption, the post itself and who else is posting at the same time. Or maybe your audience just didn't appreciate that photo as much.
Obviously all of that stuff matters but this video/test was just to highlight the impact a loop giveaway can have.
@@BenLeavitt Fair enough. I have done giveaways on my fan page before. This whole idea of a loop giveaway does make me think I shouldn't do them again using paid Ads. Because the logic you explain makes alot of sense. There is no need to dilute your pool of engagement if you are steadily growing already.
