Always good to just get outside and explore Russ - great to become really familiar with a local spot on readiness for the changing seasons and conditions 👍🏻

Thanks, Andrew. It was one of those rare calm days in between all the storms recently!

Beautiful to see the UK woodland, nothing like that around here and if there was it would just be cut down for plantation, enjoyed the video Russ, some stunning images, thanks for sharing.

Thanks, John. A lot of the pine plantation forest in the UK was created after the first world war to provide quick growth of timber (Thetford and Rendlesham).

Great mixture of trees in this forest. Might not have been ideal conditions but you still came away with some lovely images. Love those big gnarly oaks that you have! Can't go wrong with those. In the fog in spring in a fog would be stunning! I really enjoyed this look around this beautiful forest! Hope you're doing well Russ!

It has been so wet and stormy this winter (a pattern in recent years due to the changing climate which affects the jet stream over the atlantic). It was good to get out on a calm day at last.

Very much like Cannock chase which is local to me. We do have heathland too, which does give heather in August. We also have small hills and valleys which do help out with composing an image.Enjoyed the video very much., thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Ian. Westleton Heath is near to me where the Heather blooms during August. I was without a car last summer so I hope to return this year.

Winter can be difficult for woodland, you've really got to find good compositions I think - which you did. My faves were 3:30 and 9:42. Would be good to see the transformation during the various seasons.

Yes, I'll definitely be returning to those compositions throughout the year. Thanks, Robert.

Those hidden oaks n beech in the pine forestare fabulous examples and you had some cracking images Russ. I have some lovely oak woodland near me and they are all built on hills and its hard work walking them I tell you - hearing you saying how flat it is theere maybe we should swap for a bit..lol. Do you ever get to the Brecon Beacons area, I knwo you get to Scotland n Snowdonia. Captains wood looked great. Nice watch. atb Alan

I'm returning to Snowdonia (or should I call it Eryri?) in September to further explore the slate Quarries and a few hikes onto the Nantlle Ridge and maybe Moel Hebog and Moel Siabod.

Really enjoyed the video Russ and you managed some fantastic shots, I've been to those woods quite a few times and stuggled, but I think that was my own impatience to be honest. Definitely going back though, possibly this Sunday.

Thanks, Steve. I've explored all around Rendlesham Forest and the surrounding area over the past five years. I live in Colchester but find Suffolk a lot more appealing for photography than Essex.

@RussWeymouthPhotography Hi Russ, I'm originally from London/Essex but live in Felixstowe now, do you do seascape at all? The Groynes at Felixstowe is a popular spot.

I was born in Stratford and moved out of the east end of London when I was 10.
I've been to the Suffolk Coast a few times, Covehithe and Southwold I made a video from.
I'm just editing a video from a trip to Bawdsey.

@RussWeymouthPhotography I lived in Leyton for quite a few years. Southwold is,a favourite of mine, the East Coast has some fantastic locations.
