I think this episode explains why in later episodes, Taro is a lot more gentle, patient and pacifist towards his opponents ... (I mean, he practically curbstomped a new pie-hole in Astromons and overkilled his earlier enemies, later on Taro is more merciful and forgiving)

Because he said that all monsters are evil/enemies to mankind, this Kotarou ( Taro's human form) and his crew believe it too until they realize after seeing the baby the mother was protecting. So basically the main fault belongs to the humans that don't respect life of other living beings especially monsters/Kaiju who only sees them as a threat instead as a living, breathing and heartful creatures. Like all living things such as animals and plants, monsters and kaijus are also considered living beings of nature. So we must try to understand and respect them before we make any conclusions. Take Ultraseven, Cosmos and X for example.

Yeah. For example: Seagoras and Seamons just wanted to find a place to live, wich lead to Ultraman Jack sparing their lives. Seabozu just wanted to go home wich lead to him getting spared. But sadly, Zagorath was so hardly misunderstood, that he ended up killed. Same goes the turtle mother.
Good to see Ultraman show some mercy here .............. as a result, we have the kindness Ultraman Cosmo many years later .....
