Team builder works but it’s still got some bugs in some places. For example the logos for all custom teams are gigantic compared to the normal teams when you actually get into a game or dynasty

Heres a slider tip: To get the QB to throw try turning off intentional grounding. CPU QBs tend to move more outside the pocket with that penalty off. Its worth a shot at this point
I noticed that he hasn't realized that you could only have a certain amount of people visit per a week. It took me a bit too. It really lowers the amount of bonuses I can get. It also sucks how you get a negative for things like two CBs or a LOLB and a ROLB. CBs require a ton of players and the LBs are literally different positions.
There was also a problem previously where you could schedule as many visits as you wanted. So that might be why, he didn’t have that restriction before 😂.
I don't get why Drew wouldn't think UMass and UConn would be rivals. They're the public universities from neighboring states, and their campuses are less than 50 miles apart.
Coach mode is a mess, you will see 90+ overall get continually destroyed by 70 and 80 overall dlinemen, in pass coverage, plus you have to cycle quarterbacks to find one that won’t sit back and just wait for the rush, yeah I stopped playing two weeks ago, until it’s patched. In addition feels like you spend more time recruiting than coaching your team on the field 💀

Believe it or not, UConn vs UMass was a rivalry in NCAA 14 so EA have acknowledged that game as a rivalry for a while. I don't even recall it being considered a rivalry in real life but it's funny how it carried over to CFB 25

when I play coach mode, it seems like the CPU doesn't scramble with the QB, AT ALL! that's something i wish that they would fix and actually have the QB scramble sometimes even if they are a pocket passer, they should scramble sometimes especially if defenders are running at them directly in front of their face.
This game should've been built from the ground up on a new engine. Working with the core of madden means many of the problems this year are not going away I fear
I said it in the first video…lock on the HB but you’ll have to modify your play play calling to only call passes where he either blocks, runs a block and release or Hb screens work as well. Basically most other routes require you to run them for the HB. Your QB will play on his own like he’s a CPU QB and even scramble if he’s that archetype. I’ve since stopped playing coach mode but when I was that’s how I played it. I just didn’t care for the camera angle.
I would have to assume that Evan’s doesn’t see the open receivers & constantly gets sacked due to low awareness. It’s a mostly useless skill when you’re actively playing, but determines likelihood of reading the offense/defense, making the appropriate lead blocks, and finding the best running lane (ball carrier vision)
I think you might want to check your controller - it looks like it might be registering input when you drop back a bunch of times, so it's waiting for you.

Hey Drew! Before you slow sim to let the CPU kick FGs, look at the coach suggestion to see if the CPU will kick it or not. That way you won't be shocked when they do it or you can rethink your strategy. It's just a thought. Peace!
my experience with Coach mode has been watching my QB get sacked 15+ times EVERY game. Also, some games I just sim to get pass them, and I'm convinced simming a game is just random.
Try turning off intentional grounding penalties. Something in the AI makes the QBs not throw it away because they’re so afraid of that penalty even when it wouldn’t apply.
As a Kennedy fan if I was going to do a Dynasty mode and play as a bad team and turn them into a powerhouse I'd go with Rice as JFK's "We chose to go to the moon" speech was given at the Rice football stadium and he said "Why does Rice play Texas?" when giving examples for "We choose to do those thing and go to the moon not because they are easy but because they are hard"
I’m sure you probably know this but Oregon Playbook has a Jet Touch Pass with the QB as the passer. Jet touch plays seem to almost always be a net positive against AI and keep your quarterback from going full derp on the dropback. Cheers for the content Drewski!
This game is rather disappointing. There are many small errors that add up to a rough experience. One that really drives me crazy is when the animation of something gets interrupted so the game thinks something else happened. I've had multiple touchdowns or fumbles that I've challenged and the computer was clearly wrong. It happens a lot on routes that lead towards the sidelines. Another things that gets to me us the illegal contact flag. I get it so many times while try to defend against a screen. What am I supposed to do if the WR literally runs at me. The CPU seems to love to hit the kicker and punter. It's gotten to the point that I have to switch in between all the rushers to make them stay back.
Maybe run a custom run only playbook. You. Can go option but if it’s triple or read your qb will NEVER keep it. Speed and power options work fine. RPO’s and quick game work well too if u you want somewhat of a passing game.
This is my biggest gripe with the game. All those other little things or even big, I can ignore. But the fact that the CPU will forever and always become offensive gods at the 2 minute drill. It’s smarter in this game to waste time and take a chance at a TD rather than to score and give the CPU 45 seconds up 4. You will always lose. I’ve kept tally. 16/18 games where I gave the CPU more than 20 seconds to respond, the cpu scored a touchdown. It’s broken and so frustrating, college football is all about chaos and upsets but it’s not 16/18 unilaterally consistent.

Something that might help with blocking is to go to coach adjustments and set blocking to aggressive. Might get a few holding calls but better than taking a lot of sacks. Doesn't help with hb screens and some other plays (wish they would fix that). There are other adjustments that help too.

You absolutely can try to use wildcat to try and keep your job for the season, and try to integrate it more next season as a nuance instead of the main strat when your job is a lil more secure
I've been playing a coach mode franchise and have taken it upon myself to complete HB screens and throw away if the QB is holding it for 7+ seconds. Nevermind 75% of curl routes are pick 6s. Pretty frustrating.
Also check the autosub sliders. The default ones are trash and your 2nd and 3rd string guys get more reps than what’s realistic or good for the team. For most positions I set it for high sub in low sub out; if my 1st stringers get hurt I sub em out manually
Drewski I’m telling you that Montana is the pick for a rebuild if you cant seem to get the rebuild. By year three if you have spent your recruiting points correctly you will be ranked and then the dynasty begins. You won’t have to compete recruiting against the south

My BMS Dynasty is on year 4... Worked absolutely fine for me. Change the playbook through coach - EA posted that. But i did have to restart thanks to their glitch once.
Whenever you run RPOs, screen passes or option plays you should player lock on the running back. This makes the quarterback actually make a decision on the play. He will keep or hand off on option plays anf actially pass the ball on screen passes. The AI will still control the running back and yoy will get a weird camera angle but its better than taking multiple unnecessary sacks.

This game is a great start, but there is a ton of work. My biggest gripe is with the sim. I know upsets happens, Cinderella happen, but when in year 1, when the top teams almost all have 2-3 loses, and loses to like MAC and Sun Belt teams, there is something wrong. I tried to do a rebuild with just simming and every year I would lose at least 2 games to terrible teams.

Yeah, I played coach mode and the QB’s are really slow. FCS West (which very surprisingly I won 91-13) they still had like 10 sacks.

Have you tried adjusting the sliders. It worked pretty well for me. I bumped up user pass protection to 56 and it seems a lot more realistic now.
Also check the autosub sliders. The default ones are trash and your 2nd and 3rd string guys get more reps than what’s realistic or good for the team. For most positions I set it for high sub in low sub out; if my 1st stringers get hurt I sub em out manually

Whenever you run RPOs, screen passes or option plays you should player lock on the running back. This makes the quarterback actually make a decision on the play. He will keep or hand off on option plays anf actially pass the ball on screen passes. The AI will still control the running back and yoy will get a weird camera angle but its better than taking multiple unnecessary sacks.
Let's be honest. CFB 25 is great but there are things that just aren't there.😊

Hard to watch Tom's coaching career start like this but I feel like big things are coming for him.
This game is a great start, but there is a ton of work. My biggest gripe is with the sim. I know upsets happens, Cinderella happen, but when in year 1, when the top teams almost all have 2-3 loses, and loses to like MAC and Sun Belt teams, there is something wrong. I tried to do a rebuild with just simming and every year I would lose at least 2 games to terrible teams.

I probably would have smashed my XBOX controller by now if I played that mode and watched my QB stand there and get sacked every time he drops back.
I played the game a lot for the first week or so, but I've kinda cooled off on it for now. I'll get back into it as more updates are released. I'm waiting to touch Dynasty mode in general until the main fixes and updates are well underway.

Imo, I can’t even play CFB25 anymore. The gameplay and severe lack of depth just aren’t fun anymore. I’m prob switching back to NCAA14 (maybe 13 if I can find one)

I think the reason that your QB takes so many sacks might be because in his attributes he might not have throw ball away or ideal decision making .
