I think more trait tags would be sweet for example QBs could have “streaky” so they gain and loose morale very fast depending on previous games, so in simulation u could be playing the 4-8 rams but Stafford has won the last 3 games and is playing up like 4 overalls
1. Ability to edit injuries 2. Start now option for offline 3. Commissioner mode where I dont need 32 team control just to make things run smoothly. 4. Create plays! I had such a sweet offense on '05 5. Create-a-Team! 6. NCAA integration, I've always wished we could watch film or highlights of potential draft picks. 7. Coaches! Yes coach carousel, also backstories/histories new candidates popping up i.e. college coaches, former players, out of announcer booth, back from running Nascar Etc. Etc. Etc. The picture with all the coaches. Fan approval rating. 8. Off field incidents both good and bad. Car crash or has a baby etc. 9. Owners meetings with new rules proposals. 10. A radio show that talked about relevant info to the season while in the excruciatingly slow menus. 11. Custom UI and menus 12. Scouts or assistant coaches' input on a rookie and what position they could play etc. Maybe they have a list of guys or something. 13. Accurate sim stats. 14. Accurate QB injuries (see 1) 15. Temporary boost for in season Free Agents with experience under a coach system. I understand this will be hard for them to track but I do it in my mind when i sign guys after an injury. 16. Franchise share- upload our saves with positions fixed, injuries updated, schedules complete, stats dialed, coaches fixed, and settings done. 17. Player cards that look like player cards. 18-10000 Customization options!!! EA is not able to please everyone but they half ass try and end up pleasing almost no one, let us please our selves (that came out wrong)
One big thing is draft day trades from other teams. They never trade, if you have the 4th pick you should be worried that someone might jump you for the QB that you need
I would love to have some sort of feature that tells you what veteran players are hitting free agency and not being surprised. It would help with deciding who to resign before letting them walk or perhaps cutting players to make cap space for a big name hitting FA
I like the way MLB the show treats this. You have the option of being notified when something like an injury happens and you need to choose if you want to adjust the depth chart or let the CPU auto adjust as well as if there are deadlines/roster moves that need to be done. It'd be nice if you had the option to have a reminder to make any trades at the deadline before advancing to week 9 as well.
@@Ghostface2point0Little late, but if I remember correctly, so does the NHL games, which are also made by EA. So it wouldn’t be that hard to also put in madden, at least I would think it wouldn’t
Something no one really seems to notice, how about realistic player height depictions?? I’ve been playing madden 15 franchise and I always notice the height differences between players in the huddle and on the field. For example, I have Mike Vick (6’0) & Megatron (6’5) on the niners and Vick is noticeably shorter than the lineman, Megatron, Jason Witten, Vernon Davis, etc., and Frank Gore (5’9) is even shorter than him! I love this because it just enhances the authenticity of the game. This hasn’t been in any Madden since at least Madden 20 as far as I can tell. You can clearly see how they blatantly disregard this at 1:23 when Purdy & Trevor Lawrence are standing next to each other. Lawrence is 6’6 and Purdy is 6’1! They should not be standing shoulder to shoulder. I know this has been in every madden game since before Madden 16 (never played 17, 18, 19) so why is that something they can’t seem to get right anymore?! Maybe they just don’t care or maybe the fans are just to ignorant to hold them accountable, but this is just one of the many reasons why I’m not buying any new madden until simple things like this are back in the game.
I wanna see tattoos and more options for faces/hair, especially when you make someone. Even just generic ink. And let me choose a hairstyle and what ever facial hair I want, on whatever face I want
One little thing I think is needed. Is when you “get offers” in the trade menu, you should be able to open the player card for the offered players. Other wise you have to Manually trade in order to see player age dev trait so on
Add a hot seat meter. Where you can see what coaches are close to getting fired & allow mid season coach firing. You can have team morale, roster overall, etc. factor into it & coaches on the hot seat can make more desperate trades for players. Being able to use the look for trade feature but having a choice to tell teams your looking for mostly picks or mostly players. Custom playbooks should be an actual part of franchise & let new coaches make there own playbooks Top 5 offense/defenses coordinator should be almost guaranteed to be poached where you have to try & convince them to stay.
Face editor with sliders to customize faces for player editing and draft classes. That way there wouldn’t be 50 guys with the same face. We had it for Face of the Franchise for a couple years now. They can’t just carry that over to Franchise??? Also, post June 1 cuts would be huge for cap management.
A contract negotiation “meeting” like fifa has would be a great feature where you have to negotiate a players role on the roster, whether it be a starter, or depth piece. If the playing time demands aren’t met players morale drops and eventually demand a trade
I would even want some features added that give a more realistic feel while playing these franchise games. Like, if a player is close to breaking a franchise record, etc., have it pop on the screen with the list of players.. or show season leaders in a specific category during the game. Also more player traits should hold more weight.. if a player is clutch or plays well home vs away or during certain weather conditions.
Yeah I remember that happening once in Madden 21 where I broke the single season passing record but there was no graphic showing like the top 5 players with the record or anything. The announcers mentioned it but it still would be cool to see a graphic with the QB sitting at the top and the previous record holders underneath him with their pictures
It's insane. 2K is more money hungry then EA but there game is much better in a lot of ways unfortunately, Madden is getting there, but its not a close race. MyNBA is miles better then franchise mode
I'd LOVE if they added coaching counsel stats. Imagine if they had like awareness and aggressive or conservative sliders Or even run/pass probability sliders etc etc
I’ve wanted the names & scanned in faces of the coordinators for years now. Totally agree with you there. Having a whole process dedicated to hiring staff (like free agency) would be great
Great video. These are all quite literally the things I’ve been begging for when I bitch at EA while playing. There are a few things I’d like to add though: 1. Nickel CB & Long Snapper have their own positions. 2. More meaningful attributes. (ie: for a RB, add Contact Balance, Elusiveness, Explosiveness Inside/Outside Run Grade& make Pass Block ratings matter for their OVR. For a CB, add Technique, Instincts, Mirror, Match, Hip Fluidity, etc etc etc. It should feel like you’re an NFL scout) 3. The face tuner option that’s available in Superstar mode included into Franchise mode along side more face options in general 4. different body TYPES. For example, the only way to give a player a bit of a belly who doesn’t already have one is to increase their weight to 322lbs & there are COUNTLESS players in the NFL who are thick in the belly & way under 322LBs
EA boutta be like WOAH WOAH WOAH we've been giving way too much lately we need to TAKE AWAY features otherwise what are we gonna have to market when we put back in the removed features
Think it would be relatively simple to add tattoos in the game. Tattoos have been a thing in video games since the dawn of time. I know you can't get specific tattoos for guys because of release of artwork from the artists, but it would take a day for EA to hire someone to doodle 50 generic tattoo sleeves that we can use. Low effort investment that would that would GREATLY improve the immersion for me.
Want to talk about immersion? How about something no one really seems to notice, realistic player height depictions?? I’ve been playing madden 15 franchise and I always notice the height differences between players in the huddle and on the field. For example, I have Mike Vick (6’0) & Megatron (6’5) on the niners and Vick is noticeably shorter than the lineman, Megatron, Jason Witten, Vernon Davis, etc. and Frank Gore (5’9) is even shorter than him! I agree on for the incoming rookies and how they look. A wr or a corner will get drafted and they be wearing linemen gloves with linemen cleats and a old helmet
this may be a very minute detail, I enjoy all three phases of football. I’m sick of my DB1 being the gunner on special teams. Implement special teams positions on the depth chart, so I don’t have manually put them in the formation subs, all for it to be wiped away if they get injured.
Playing as a coordinator and getting hired for a HC job would be great! Building a coaching career was one of my favorite things in NCAA. Coaching contracts or discussions. So much can be done on the coaching front! I would also love to see active trades during the draft particularly for teams who might be desperate or lacking at a given position. Off-season or pre-season position battles, especially if there are players closely packed together. Would love on cut down day to have comparison of players pre-season stat lines.
Im on board with you I know that won't do it but I think it should work like fifa multiple leagues it's should be ea football you should be able to work from college to the pros and back if you want try making your own play book etc
Coaching carousel just like ncaa 14. Allow us to start out whatever we would like to be, whether it’s a head coach, OC, or DC! Was definitely my favorite part of ncaa games starting as a coordinator and working my way up to be a HC at a smaller program and bring them championships
Biggest thing I’ve seen is how absolutely terrible the computer can be at managing their own teams and free agency. I’ve seen times where teams are 30 million above the cap and make bizarre acquisitions they don’t need just to sit on the bench. It’s also about 4 or 5 teams every free agency that make 90% of the acquisitions. Also give us a choice of practice fields and weather choices.
I think one of the things that would help the coaching thing is simply expanding down to positional coaches. Give us QB, OL, RB, and WR/TE on offense and DL, EDGE, LB, and DB on the defense with a Special Teams coordinator along with the DC and OC. I get that might be a bit much, but there are plenty of watching positional coaches every year to figure out who may get a promotion.
Only sad thing is EA could say all of this is coming next year. Beta comes out and they say it’s coming once it launches. Launch comes and they say it’s coming next year. Then repeat the system.
The more you think about it the more you realize that 2k already has the best system for sports games like bages a morale system instead of a upgrade system so players cap in overall or can have one good year then fall off tendencies instead of traits etc. but those are the main ones.
Imagine being able to walk into a park and play Throw Up Tackle or 7 on 7. Shit playing catch with another user online with your superstar and being able to be on the same team and playing 11 players on offense/defense online.
One of my biggest things I would love to see is the ability to customize your own team being able to design it, and ESPN sports center style presentation similar to ESPN NFL 2K5.
In addition to adding Edge as a position, they need to do something to make Long Snappers matter. I'm tired of a 38 OVR "TE" taking up a roster spot and being able to cut them without it affecting the team.
Also, more dynamic drafts board I want to see player in the top five go down to the third round. and make the mock draft a mock draft. I hate how the mock draft is 100% right all the time.
This was awesome! I’ve said the same things for years! How do they not do any of this? I’ve been waiting for a game like the one you described for 2 decades. It’s like they use zero common sense when it comes to immersion and realistic situations. Well done
We need the restructure contract to have the option to bring money forwards as well as pushing it back. Eat up some of that cap hit in the current season if you have free cap if you are projected to be over in future seasons
They should make hidden out of 500 snaps but if it’s normal it gets revealed at 100, then if it’s star it gets revealed at 300, superstar 450, and X factor 500. Obv snap counts can change that was just my idea
I think it's time for Madden to start treating the O-line as a unit. Their overall combined rating should determine what type of o-line you have. Even though their individual ratings matter. There should be talents that you can unlock based on how long that group has played together. Example of a potential talent. if you have at least 4 of your 5 lineman play 300 snaps together (just a random number thrown out) and say they have a combined run block and run block power of 95. They could unlock a talent called (closer) Where if you have a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter your entire o-line will get a ratings boost. where your entire online will become 99 overall run blocking. This should allow you to grind out the clock in the 4th quarter and force your opponent to do drastic things like run blitz to stop you from running the ball which leads them vulnerable to play action. Again this would mean the longer a o-line has played together the more dominate they would be. In my current season of madden I lost my starting LT and RT. I'm starting to rookies to replace them. It's not a issue. like it should be. I play on All Madden with the sliders set to favor the CPU. I'm still scoring the most ppg and leading the league in passing yards and TDs.. I even forget I'm starting 2 rookie tackles... It would be nice if it was something I had to play around (like Mahomes is currently doing in real life) also it would make me reconsider just letting my staring tackles walk in FA because I decided to pay my #2 WR and my Xfactor SS because I actually don't value o-linemen in this game.
should go without saying, but along with the offensive/defensive coordinators I too want the real names/likenesses or at least the ability to edit this so that you can promote from within, or see where they go and how that coaching career goes, there are some coordinators that should be head coaching now or within the next few seasons
They need to add simple things like 16 man practice squads and realistic IR rules with a minimum of 4 weeks instead of the 8 or 9 or whatever it is that they have right now.
I 100% feel the positional terminology thing. It is absolutely insane to be having Rashan Gary playing as an off ball linebacker in a 4-3 scheme. However, it's hard to blame EA for not wanting to do this when most NFL teams and the NFL itself refuse to refer to players in this way. Look at the pro bowl voting, for example. When voting there is a "linebacker" section that includes both edge rushers and off ball linebackers. It makes 0 sense.
Pro Bowl is largely an outlier at this point though... Every single NFL team uses these terms and all of the Draft Coverage has officially gotten with the times. All-Pro team I believe now uses the updated terminology as well. Let's be honest... Pro Bowl in general is joke.
Every team uses modern terminology when constructing a roster even if they don’t always list them as such on team websites. Pro bowl doesn’t matter. All pro teams use updated terminology so do like draft breakdowns and virtually ever pundit/expert/ whatever there called. They need to change it
I’d also like the ability to choose your own weather, or set it to random for franchise games. Also, they need to revamp the practice squad so that you can add any players…even the veterans like they do in real life. It’s super frustrating trying to put a third QB on your PS for example… who may be a veteran so they won’t let you add him. You would think that would be an easy fix. Also for franchise games you can only activate 46 players like real life. The cpu could do it for you or you just manually designate players inactive. Additionally, you should be able to activate a practice squad player for one game like in real life. Another big thing I’d like to see is the ability to sit certain players for preseason games. It’s so frustrating seeing your star players come in on special teams or some wacky scenario in preseason. It’s terrible. If there are certain players, I don’t want to even dress up, you should be able to deactivate them for that game.
I just want to see an update to the presentation, on the main display during the franchise games, why doesn't it show the records in ( ) below each respective team? This is a little thing but something I would imagine should be possible
they had compensatory picks in the mid-2000s games, madden 07 i know has them for sure. so i suppose there’s something to be said for a different console a different foundational code and all that but if they did it 20 years ago on the gamecube i don’t see why they couldn’t figure out how to do it now
Something I would love to see with OC/DC's. Each have a base playbook with about 100 to 150 plays that are in every playbook. (I know Madden thinks it's already doing this) then have another 100 to 150 plays that are specifically designed for how that OC/DC runs their side of the ball. Example an OC who prefers to use TE's heavily, their playbook should feature that. With lots of TE packages and formations. That other OCs don't have in their books because they don't feature TE's. It would force you to pay attention to who you are playing and what system they actually run. You should be forced to make adjustments based off of the matchup. (teams don't prepare to play the Niners the way the play the Bucs) Right now I don't care who the other team is or what their Personnel I run the same plays and they work just fine. If EA, was able to figure this out it would be awesome. Another example. If a DC is great at scheming to stop the run and has the personnel and skill tree bonuses to be dominant. The defense should receive major boost to stop the run. Where it becomes extremely tough to run on them. But you receive extra XP for rushing 100 + yards on them.
Not sure I agree about the coaching tree, I know a coach is not going to be able to actually make players faster, but I look at Dallas where their DB coach Al Harris puts a heavy emphasis on reading and reacting and it almost feels like his DBs move faster on the field because they have a stronger understanding of where to be in the scheme, and I think adding speed can help represent that on the field. Also I can see how working with a "QB guru" offensive coordinator could help a QB get more out of his mechanics and increase his throw power. Maybe not by 3 points in a single season, but I can see 1 point per season, up to 3 so a QB can go from 89 THP to 92 by working with the same QB coach over his first three years in the league.
Bring back escape artist as a trait or create a pocket mobility rating. I shouldn’t feel like I’m controlling Joe Flacco when I’m using Mahomes or Lamar. I get people complained it was OP but how do you think defenders feel when they are playing those guys in real life.
I can kinda get what you mean by terminology. Like in PFF mock drafts, players are OT, DE, LB, etc, stating the area they play but not a locked position. So change all draft player positions to that and depth chart as well.
Couple things I thought of CPU teams should be either selling or buying more, maybe give that team a tag that makes them more likely to trade for or trade away star players. Also honestly the overall system should be so different, players who play well should go up overall, players who play poorly should go down, depth players should have a chance to actually make a name for themselves be able to be developed through time, if your player isn’t starting in his rookie year he’s pretty much toast for the most part especially if he’s just a normal dev
Tbh, the one thing I’m ready for is just a scouting system overhaul in Madden. I like being able to individually scout and pick out guys as opposed to hiring a scout to handle it. The draft and scouting has always been my favorite part of madden franchise, but I feel it’s been lacking recently. Might just be me, but would bring me back for sure.
You know I'd really like to see more variety in terms of what positions you can play. Like maybe I wanna play as a kicker for a season or a fullback. Maybe a o lineman. I just think if would add more things to do and really change up the whole qb rb wr cb Lb etc. I have always kinda wanted to play as an o lineman. And maybe have a simple yet sophisticated blocking mechanics for o line and dumb ot down for other pos.
We also need more stats. Like Offensive Lineman we only see if they gave up a sack. A stat that shows how often they are beat or how fast they get beat by the defense would be great. For Defense we also need win rate and pressures to be added. I know they can do that because madden 07 would track that if you let the CPU play itself.
1. Position Terminology 2. Updated Rating system (players improve in the off-season instead of the regular season, like 2k) 3. Separate abilities and dev trait. Why does how fast you get better dictate your talents on the field? 4. MORE PLAYER CUSTOMIZATION
1. Updated positional terminology: Absolutely agree. Sometimes I play in franchise mode with a fantasy draft. I completely agree. This is super annoying. 2. Fog of War for rookies: I hadn't really thought of this before, but I really like the idea. I think it should be for all rookies. I can tell you have thought about these things. I also like you idea of having some type of system to add undrafted rookies. 3. I like the idea of void year contracts and compensatory draft picks. It would just add another layer of realism. 4. I dislike overpowered items on the coaching trees. I always put the coaches progression on the slowest in franchise settings so the decisions you make take multiple season to really add up. But if you left it on default they would add up quick and especially if the upgrades are overpowered it actually detract from the experience. It sounds like they may have multiple announcing crews next year. That is still a rumor at this point, but seems more likely than not. Overall I think your proposed changes list is a very good one. It is realistic, but would add to the realism.
Heavy on the updated positional terminology and fog of war. I know this isn't franchise specific, but I would like to see a "clear cap penalties" during the main menu. My friends and I like to build rosters based on where players went to college for franchise mode, and that would be so helpful for us in building the roster.
You hit it with the schemes. Let me determine the kind of players I want. Also, some kind of slider for run vs pass, aggressive on offense and defense that determines blitzing and going for it on fourth down. More player customization would be great too. There are so many things that guys wear in real life that aren't available.
I can't even count how many hours I spend editing league wide positions to get each team's proper edge and interior scheme fits. It's sad that this is where the expectations have fallen but if EA put nothing new in the game next year except for proper edge terminology I'd be ecstatic.
Great video, hit a lot of important points. Heres some i have myself. Coach play calling would be a dope addition, for example, if you’re a coach you can go into games, view them from the sideline, not be able to use players, but you can call the plays. That would be super immersive and sweet. I would use a mode like that for rebuilds all the time as a way to even things out. Simulation also needs a big revamp, a lot of players will do rebuilds and not even play, but it’s insufferable when you play as the cardinals and sim through the first year and they go 12-5 and win the superbowl. Its way to based on playbook. I get the importance of having a good coach but at this point it can be extremely random. I get teams have down years but teams like the ravens often have terrible records in my games, ive also had so many play throughs where i work on 3 or so seasons and build a 88+ overall team that goes 5-12. Again, i know teams can have good players but not play well but theres no givin reason for this, and you can switch playbooks around trying to find what works and it just wont do. I also feel like the path to greatness can be too linear, for players and for teams. Yes, theres regression but that often means theyre just old. And if a player or team plays bad they can regress, but in real life we can see a player go from a horrible year to a great one, or have a terrible 7 week stretch then play phenomenally. I just feel like the overall cpu players that are good and young just automatically end up being an upper 90 overall with xfactor. Some players in real life may end up being equal to an 86 ovr but thats where their cap is. Not everyone turns into myles garrett. Some guys end up being great players but dont become hall of famers. If you get a decently young player to 85 or so, and you play well, they will be a 99 overall if you play enough. This is especially true for qbs. Draft a guy and if hes like a 74 with star dev, if you play a few good seasons hes already up to a 99 because his dev trait keeps getting higher
My wishlist XFactors for Offensive Lineman Stonewall- Cannot be beaten by speed rushers Immovable Object - cannot be beaten by power rushers Bulldozer- highly increased chance on pancake blocks on inside runs Lead The Way- increased chance of pancake blocks on outside runs and screen passes Players being unhappy with losing, production or being replaced and asking for a trade/ refusing to play until demands are met CPU to make draft day trades/ when a CPU team offers a trade for certain pick, game asks if you'd like to bid for it or have other CPU teams bid for it Stop having the CPU take players you want in the draft right before you pick if they A) don't need them or B) they don't fit the team. (Cardinals signed 3 75+ middle linebackers in FA then still proceeded to draft the middle linebacker I wanted. It was annoying). Create A Team Realistic Stats (Example Number 1 pass defense IRL gives up 177 ypg.... Number 1 pass defense in Madden gives up 220. That's a difference of almost 50 yards) You want a realistic game? Use Real World Stats Make Defense Matter!!!!! The average team punts 5 times a game.... Each team in my franchise punts once maybe twice a game. I know defense is boring unless it's turnovers but you can't have a realistic game if you don't have realistic things happening. FOX AND CBS scoreboards and announcers Have BUST be a hidden development trait and all players have hidden development traits even if they are Normal. Keeps the suspense up and makes an even playing field for all teams
OK I'll give Madden that one on the bust/slow development trait thing. It shouldn't be a slider issue. I shouldn't have a 90+ overall corner getting burned on coverage constantly. Otherwise whats the point of overalls? The CPU players seem to be able to cover just fine.
@@TonyBelcher-if1pc Madden is in a weird middle ground where stats matter till they don't. Strength matters in press but I don't notice it in power moves or block sheds. Speed has always mattered but pursuit makes defenders faster. Also it's never consistent
I hate how that if players underperform they don’t go down enough ovr. If DK metcalf gets 700 yards for instance in a season he’ll probably only go down to 88 from an 89 at most. If he has one good game though he goes up 2. It’s way too easy to get a 99 ovr players. It makes franchise mode boring because it gets so easy. I also thought about an actual “commissioner” role in franchise mode. Wheee you don’t play as a team but you can create new rules, add new expansion teams, fine players, suspend players, reschedule games “flex games” and even create the NFL schedule. I think that’d make franchise mode alone much more enjoyable.
Would be cool to see dynamic ratings, dependant on how the players perform in the season the and there stats at the end of year they go down, up or stay the same. This creates a unique franchise mode for every player and every franchise created. This will also stop in year 5 seeing the same qbs be the best every time and would be more realistic as performance matters. Right now seeing ridder or feilds or pickett at the top qb's is ridiculous. They already have a ratings decrease when your plays are old so there must be a way to add something like this.
Something I'd love to see is an updated auto sib system. Not only is auto sub in/out broken, but it's confusing for most madden users and they don't even touch it. I'd love to see a system in which I can assign a player X amount of snaps per 60 snaps. If I have a good RB duo, let me assign the main guy like 35 snaps and the backup 25 snaps.
Real shit bro, we have been saying this since madden 16. They were supposed to hear us out a long time ago. they were supposldy working on franchise mode in madden 22, but then it got worse after this game
My one big thing, would be to literally copy and paste MLB the Show scouting into Madden. MLB has an awful franchise mode at this point, but they nailed their scouting system with how you can scout whoever you want, whenever you want, for as long as you want
One thing you didn't say, that used to be a function of drafting rookies in around Madden 2007-2010, was for the ability to sort through scouted players after their combine stats are released and see who ranked where doing what. I used to find freak athletes that were just low awareness that I easily built up because of their play on the field. But now, you have to go through each individual player . Which makes it very difficult to get those rated " undrafted" and take a chance on them with a 6th or 7th round pick. Just an aspect I miss about the game.
- New relocation logos ,uniforms and helmets - overhaul the draft and scouting especially tie into the top prospect stories - X factor overhaul - stadium overhaul not just 4 to choose from - actual sim gameplay - you should not be able to spam swim or power move every play - year end awards overhaul - contract overhaul -expansion and expansion draft -throw in old nfl Europe teams for relocation and expansion -practice squad overhaul - undrafted free agents overhaul Be able to choose stadium wall designs and or advertising -combine workouts -full coaching staffs with abilities to effect players even more -dead cap hits
What do you think about being able to see the Combine? that would include animations by positions, for example being able to see the tests of the WRs and that small and imperceptible details could be seen where, if you detect them, you will discover some interesting attribute of that player
One thing that would be cool that was incorporated into the WWE games is custom renders. Therefore when we view the roster the draft classes we make have real pictures
Tying in to what you said about the different coach perks, I think coach tags (similar to player tags) would be great too. These tags would essentially dictate which skill trees a given coach has access to, and help differentiate potential hires based on team needs. My quick idea of four tags that exemplify the coach archetypes we see across the league: Motivator: has the current skill tree which boosts on-field performance Guru: has access to the game planning and scheme-based bonuses you mentioned in the video Evaluator: has access to skills that reveal rookie ratings more quickly, as well as maybe grant temporary bonuses to acquired veterans who are a scheme match Specialist: has a skill tree that focuses on a specific position, and grants bonuses to scouting, development, and/or performance for that position There's the idea of having coaches "multi-class" as they go, and maybe even unlocking additional tags as they get promoted to coordinator or head coach roles, but don't wanna get too far ahead of myself here.
I would love for the CPU to value kickers and punters , I’m tired of seeing all the kickers in free agency as the cpu would rather sign 5 RBS and fullback
Completely agree about the best LB award. Playing a franchise with some buddies and one guy is getting best LB for having 27 sacks with a 3-4 edge rusher while off-ball linebackers are having great seasons but are just completely unable to compete with the statistic
Improved Draft presentation Is. Must . And tuning draft logic …. More training camp mini games including oline Combine and pro day maybe let us use prospects in individual workouts…
A working model filter would also be awesome. It is impossible to create players that are chubby or bulky or skinny. Torsos are long or long legs etc. More variation would go a long way.
madden advertises "simulation football" but it doesn't actually play out that way. for madden to be great, they will have to stop pushing a game out every year and just constantly add and update things. They should just release it as "Madden" or "NFL Football" and make a true simulator to that of real life. Make MUT separate from the game like Call of duty warzone (which is free to play). Have a separate dev team work and monitor that and the others will work and monitor the core game. EA won't lose money because UT is microtransaction central so it will constantly be there. I think this will be best because it lets all of the devs focus on the main parts of the game and add as much as they want without being stuck to a "due date".
Great list but some more that would make franchise great. 1. Dynamic Player Morale, where players can ask for trades. Tank the season etc. 2. A real deal position battles in training camp 3. Auto Sub needs to be fixed. Plus for certain positions have snap counts to go with progressive fatigue 4. Have coaching morale and personality ( Offensive Wizard, Defensive mastermind, then have it where they have personality like ( Old School, Player Friendly, etc.) 5. Have an Actual GM and have him have personality and traits for roster building. Like he prefers athleticism over talent or Talent over scheme fit
So I think the way EA does the whole ratings Fog of War with their NHL series is very well done and similar in the sense that it gives different number of bars (0-4) that represent the accuracy of a ratings number. You can assign pro scouts, and amateur for drafts, and give them assignments to scout groups of players or specific players for different things like ratings, potential & comps, attitudes etc. and really makes the experience fun (and is why I’m playing a lot more of my NHL24 leafs franchise). I know you’re very busy especially with football season but I’d love to talk about it and how Madden can implement it to improve the product (maybe even for another video like this one)
I just found some info on reddit regarding position terminology. The new games are still being scaffolded on source code from the early 2000s. The position terminology is hard coded in behind all of that and it would be a nightmare to untangle. It's also why there's no long snapper position and QB's are the place holders. In my opinion the game has long needed to take a few years off and rebuild from scratch with modern technology and know how. Unfortunately the bank the game makes means that will probably never happen. I hope this info is wrong but it makes a lot of sense to me.
I think more trait tags would be sweet for example QBs could have “streaky” so they gain and loose morale very fast depending on previous games, so in simulation u could be playing the 4-8 rams but Stafford has won the last 3 games and is playing up like 4 overalls
So... Like streaks from Madden 12 for the ps3/Xbox360
I’ve suggested having a consistency rating that impacts ratings in the same way. The higher your rating, the less up and down the player will be.
omg yes. People like Gabe Davis with low consistency rating would be perfect
I'd bet anything you asked me to that position terminology stays exactly the same for at least 2 more years.
I also think because of MUT they won’t want to change it.
Honestly the position issue is only for hardcore football fans so theyll never change it.
Unfortunately you're probably right
@@yeetmcyeeterson9000they don’t care about franchise mode because it doesn’t have any in app purchases
@@yeetmcyeeterson9000I mean theoretically they could just keep it the same for MUT and change it/have a switch for it for franchise
Something I would love to see is league expansion rather than just relocation. NBA 2k has this and it is very cool. With an expansion draft to start.
I 100% agree
i’ve heard somewhere that it has to do with licensing i’m pretty sure. not 100% sure but
Ea isn’t allowed to add expansion by the NFL
I use other peoples teams from community shared and created a 36 team league and simmed the draft, yes other than work I have no life 💀
Madden just needs to straight up copy 2ks franchise mode.
dynamic progression PLEASE. xp SUCKS.
also i really want to be able to see how many targets WRs TEs & RBs have.. we only have reception numbers
Yeah sometimes it takes forever to develop a player
What are u doing here
@@Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilic5 I guess he plays madden

Especially for OL. OL almost never develop
1. Ability to edit injuries
2. Start now option for offline
3. Commissioner mode where I dont need 32 team control just to make things run smoothly.
4. Create plays! I had such a sweet offense on '05
11. Custom UI and menus
12. Scouts or assistant coaches' input on a rookie and what position they could play etc. Maybe they have a list of guys or something.
13. Accurate sim stats.
14. Accurate QB injuries (see 1)

@@dariusdafigga2K can do it
One big thing is draft day trades from other teams.
Had this at the end of the vid so totally agree!
NBA 2K has an "upcoming free agents" tab and has had this for God knows how many years
@@Ghostface2point0as it’s such a great feature.
@@Ghostface2point0Little late, but if I remember correctly, so does the NHL games, which are also made by EA. So it wouldn’t be that hard to also put in madden, at least I would think it wouldn’t
Honestly. If they just went to NBA 2K’s franchise, took some notes, and just implemented most of what they have, we’d be solid
Other wise you have to Manually trade in order to see player age dev trait so on
Shit take so much time
Add a hot seat meter.
Custom playbooks should be an actual part of franchise & let new coaches make there own playbooks
Top 5 offense/defenses coordinator should be almost guaranteed to be poached where you have to try & convince them to stay.
Small things like power rankings, better story lines, better customization, coin flip
Having the new IR rules in the game is needed badly
So badly.
Yes, but we don’t want more pointless cut scenes.
Imagine if they had like awareness and aggressive or conservative sliders
Or even run/pass probability sliders etc etc
I’ve wanted the names & scanned in faces of the coordinators for years now. Totally agree with you there. Having a whole process dedicated to hiring staff (like free agency) would be great
Gm mode would make more sense than owner,
Custom coaching schemes is what I've wanted forever
Great video. These are all quite literally the things I’ve been begging for when I bitch at EA while playing.
There are a few things I’d like to add though:
It should feel like you’re an NFL scout)
3. The face tuner option that’s available in Superstar mode included into Franchise mode along side more face options in general
4. different body TYPES. For example, the only way to give a player a bit of a belly who doesn’t already have one is to increase their weight to 322lbs & there are COUNTLESS players in the NFL who are thick in the belly & way under 322LBs
We would be deep into franchise😂
EA boutta be like WOAH WOAH WOAH we've been giving way too much lately we need to TAKE AWAY features otherwise what are we gonna have to market when we put back in the removed features
Straight up this
Think it would be relatively simple to add tattoos in the game.

I’ve been playing madden 15 franchise and I always notice the height differences between players in the huddle and on the field. I agree on for the incoming rookies and how they look. A wr or a corner will get drafted and they be wearing linemen gloves with linemen cleats and a old helmet
Expansions would be great. We already have relocation but being able to create a brand new franchise would be awesome
this may be a very minute detail, I enjoy all three phases of football.
I’d like chants like how Steelers fan yell muth after he catches the ball
Cowboys Deuce and Schoon
9ers Jusc
😂
Only sad thing is EA could say all of this is coming next year. Beta comes out and they say it’s coming once it launches. Launch comes and they say it’s coming next year. Then repeat the system.
The more you think about it the more you realize that 2k already has the best system for sports games like bages a morale system instead of a upgrade system so players cap in overall or can have one good year then fall off tendencies instead of traits etc. but those are the main ones.
Except the progression of players in that game is ass. But it is good.
@@nickbacherbaronsoc7193without touching sliders it’s poor, yes, but you can tune that
Bro playing 2K after not posing for years and only playing Madden i was overwhelmed with all the shit I could do. Madden is severely lacking.
Definitely appreciate you making this video early before they start developing M25💯💯
💯
I think they could use the trait tags to try and clear up the off ball vs edge rusher LB issue.
@@michaelbeale559they already do, but the CPU doesn’t use logic to fill/replace
Totally.
Every team uses modern terminology when constructing a roster even if they don’t always list them as such on team websites. Pro bowl doesn’t matter. All pro teams use updated terminology so do like draft breakdowns and virtually ever pundit/expert/ whatever there called. They need to change it
I would love to see draft variety like when a qb needy team trades up or trading down , just cpu draft movement
Also would be nice to have some podcast playing over menus
I just want to see an update to the presentation, on the main display during the franchise games, why doesn't it show the records in ( ) below each respective team? This is a little thing but something I would imagine should be possible
With college football game coming back, the bare minimum for me to buy Madden next year is the terminology.
they had compensatory picks in the mid-2000s games, madden 07 i know has them for sure. so i suppose there’s something to be said for a different console a different foundational code and all that but if they did it 20 years ago on the gamecube i don’t see why they couldn’t figure out how to do it now
I’ve been waiting for decades for long snapper to become an actual position
Please. Would give those random 30 overall guys on rosters a reason
#1 on my wishlist has to be fully customizable teams like how it used to be way back in madden 11 or whenever it stopped being a feature
Also, it would be hella dope if they let you customize stadiums inside franchise
But you receive extra XP for rushing 100 + yards on them.
one thing i would like to see is the actual teams practice facilities not just the generic one that is the same for the team
It’s crazy how madden 12 had the fog of war feature you are talking about and the game a decade later doesn’t have it 🤦♂️
Not sure I agree about the coaching tree, I know a coach is not going to be able to actually make players faster, but I look at Dallas where their DB coach Al Harris puts a heavy emphasis on reading and reacting and it almost feels like his DBs move faster on the field because they have a stronger understanding of where to be in the scheme, and I think adding speed can help represent that on the field.
Great ideas fr
Bring back escape artist as a trait or create a pocket mobility rating. I shouldn’t feel like I’m controlling Joe Flacco when I’m using Mahomes or Lamar. I get people complained it was OP but how do you think defenders feel when they are playing those guys in real life.
I can kinda get what you mean by terminology. Like in PFF mock drafts, players are OT, DE, LB, etc, stating the area they play but not a locked position. So change all draft player positions to that and depth chart as well.
Couple things I thought of
CPU teams should be either selling or buying more, maybe give that team a tag that makes them more likely to trade for or trade away star players.
Also 3 or 4 years into a franchise the free agent quality goes significantly down, young players need to hit FA more often
1. Position Terminology
2. Updated Rating system (players improve in the off-season instead of the regular season, like 2k)
It's under "members" on the right most tab on the main menu.
You hit it with the schemes. Let me determine the kind of players I want. Also, some kind of slider for run vs pass, aggressive on offense and defense that determines blitzing and going for it on fourth down. More player customization would be great too. There are so many things that guys wear in real life that aren't available.
I see some color discrepancies as well when you a player up
I can't even count how many hours I spend editing league wide positions to get each team's proper edge and interior scheme fits. It's sad that this is where the expectations have fallen but if EA put nothing new in the game next year except for proper edge terminology I'd be ecstatic.
I'd add a create a team feature and a separate menu on the main screen to create draft classes.
The file sharing is a must and would be the biggest impact IMO.

XFactors for Offensive Lineman
Stonewall- Cannot be beaten by speed rushers
Immovable Object - cannot be beaten by power rushers
Bulldozer- highly increased chance on pancake blocks on inside runs
Lead The Way- increased chance of pancake blocks on outside runs and screen passes
Players being unhappy with losing, production or being replaced and asking for a trade/ refusing to play until demands are met
CPU to make draft day trades/ when a CPU team offers a trade for certain pick, game asks if you'd like to bid for it or have other CPU teams bid for it
Stop having the CPU take players you want in the draft right before you pick if they A) don't need them or B) they don't fit the team. (Cardinals signed 3 75+ middle linebackers in FA then still proceeded to draft the middle linebacker I wanted. It was annoying).
Create A Team
Realistic Stats
(Example Number 1 pass defense IRL gives up 177 ypg.... Number 1 pass defense in Madden gives up 220. That's a difference of almost 50 yards) You want a realistic game? Use Real World Stats
Make Defense Matter!!!!! The average team punts 5 times a game.... Each team in my franchise punts once maybe twice a game. I know defense is boring unless it's turnovers but you can't have a realistic game if you don't have realistic things happening.
FOX AND CBS scoreboards and announcers
Have BUST be a hidden development trait and all players have hidden development traits even if they are Normal. Keeps the suspense up and makes an even playing field for all teams
The NFLPA is the reason the slow dev got removed so there's no way they'd allow bust trait to make it to the game
Your stats and defense issues are a slider problem, not a Madden problem
OK I'll give Madden that one on the bust/slow development trait thing.
It shouldn't be a slider issue. I shouldn't have a 90+ overall corner getting burned on coverage constantly. Otherwise whats the point of overalls? The CPU players seem to be able to cover just fine.
@@TonyBelcher-if1pc well the CPU isn't beholden to the same sliders as you are...
@@TonyBelcher-if1pc Madden is in a weird middle ground where stats matter till they don't. Strength matters in press but I don't notice it in power moves or block sheds. Speed has always mattered but pursuit makes defenders faster.
Also it's never consistent
For the UI to not make me take 5 solid minutes to perform a managing task that requires 5 seconds
Commissioner would be awesome.
They need to do something abt the development system, your team is always amazing within 3-4 years
Cant wait for EA to not do a single one
99% chance of happening. Also wouldn't be surprised to see them actually remove features lol
That already happens with morale and temp bonuses.
I think there needs to be 2 more Traits
Generational:Where they Develop at crazy speeds
Bust:Where they barely ever upgrade at all
Something I'd love to see is an updated auto sib system.
I love how Marcus seriously has the best ideas that will probably never get added :(
I need to be able to add 8 expansion teams and switch up the divisions before I get another Madden Game.
- New relocation logos ,uniforms and helmets
- overhaul the draft and scouting especially tie into the top prospect stories
- X factor overhaul
- stadium overhaul not just 4 to choose from
- actual sim gameplay
- you should not be able to spam swim or power move every play
- year end awards overhaul
- contract overhaul
-expansion and expansion draft
-throw in old nfl Europe teams for relocation and expansion
-practice squad overhaul
- undrafted free agents overhaul
Be able to choose stadium wall designs and or advertising
-combine workouts
-full coaching staffs with abilities to effect players even more
-dead cap hits
What do you think about being able to see the Combine? that would include animations by positions, for example being able to see the tests of the WRs and that small and imperceptible details could be seen where, if you detect them, you will discover some interesting attribute of that player
One thing that would be cool that was incorporated into the WWE games is custom renders. Therefore when we view the roster the draft classes we make have real pictures
Tying in to what you said about the different coach perks, I think coach tags (similar to player tags) would be great too. These tags would essentially dictate which skill trees a given coach has access to, and help differentiate potential hires based on team needs.
My quick idea of four tags that exemplify the coach archetypes we see across the league:
Motivator: has the current skill tree which boosts on-field performance
Guru: has access to the game planning and scheme-based bonuses you mentioned in the video
Evaluator: has access to skills that reveal rookie ratings more quickly, as well as maybe grant temporary bonuses to acquired veterans who are a scheme match
Specialist: has a skill tree that focuses on a specific position, and grants bonuses to scouting, development, and/or performance for that position
There's the idea of having coaches "multi-class" as they go, and maybe even unlocking additional tags as they get promoted to coordinator or head coach roles, but don't wanna get too far ahead of myself here.
More training camp mini games including oline
Combine and pro day maybe let us use prospects in individual workouts…
A working model filter would also be awesome. It is impossible to create players that are chubby or bulky or skinny. Torsos are long or long legs etc. More variation would go a long way.
Something I would like is a secondary position so like a defensive end could play quarterback as well or a wr could play corner something like that
I just wish they would update the ability to start where we are currently in the real leauge, why is it only week 1 and 10
madden advertises "simulation football" but it doesn't actually play out that way. for madden to be great, they will have to stop pushing a game out every year and just constantly add and update things.
I would love for Barry Sanders to be back on the cover again but maybe also feature a current lions player like Amon Ra
Great list but some more that would make franchise great.
1. Dynamic Player Morale, where players can ask for trades. Tank the season etc.
2. A real deal position battles in training camp
3. Auto Sub needs to be fixed. Plus for certain positions have snap counts to go with progressive fatigue
4. Have coaching morale and personality ( Offensive Wizard, Defensive mastermind, then have it where they have personality like ( Old School, Player Friendly, etc.)
5. Have an Actual GM and have him have personality and traits for roster building. Like he prefers athleticism over talent or Talent over scheme fit
They should add retired numbers for all teams and allow you to retire numbers at the end of a season if someone retires
